Can the feature of forcing us to change our forum passwords be disabled? I dislike being forced to change my password for sites when I feel there is no need to do so.

I don't like it too but, if it prevents the "buy viagra" stuff then I'll actually thank the higher-ups instead.

Well maybe it can be optional where the user can toggle if they want it on or off? This way it is the users own choice to turn it off.

You can just change to a new, temporary password then change back to your old one

It can't be optional because the min req of character combination has been changed
How do I know it? It won't accept my new passwords...

Password change was forced for all users to weed out the bots, after that a password change will only occur every 6 months.

This is a new security measure, not only does it prevent future infestation but also root out the registered spambot that are dormant and slipped thought the new security procedures.

Additionally, it is for all our users security interest that you refresh your passwords, it's never good to use just the one password for everything......

I don't have a single password for everything but I generally don't change a password for something unless I feel the need to. But I guess if it is only every 6 months it might work.

It's actually easy if you end the password with a set of numbers that can be shortened

Example: kYon32056 and kYon32
