it is already happening, I accept that it will never be the biggest thing on BT but it is going well, if a little slow to start.

Certainly not hated or a "partypooper" just surprised you feel that way.

Can you explain why you want this to "just let this die a quiet death?" and that you think that "This just won't happen." ?

I'm interested into understanding how you got to this reasoning.

Looks like just releasing on weekends isn't really viable with this many uploads, i'll be changing the release schedule.

One reason i had begun releasing at weekends, was to give than sufficient time for it's own attention.
Initially i thought about releasing two different audio series reading on the weekend, but then attention is once again divided. Therefore i'll change it to a somewhat 3-4 day release.

Once again, thanks everyone for contributing! :D

A sub-forum should be made for audio recordings, as it's quite messy with the current situation.

You have a point, not sure where to put it though......

Well, we'll need to sort out the forum organization beforehand.

Are there any plans to add the audio books to the original books? Something like, click here to read ..... or, you could click here to listen to it. Sort of like cross promotion. I know there are times when I can't read the novels, but I would have the time to listen to them while I do my other work. I think others will find themselves in those positions as well, so it may be a good thing it make it blatantly obvious that an audio version is available.

It would probably be appropriate to have 1 link or short note on the project page leading to the audio version. But if it was 1 link next for each chapter, then that would make the page too busy in my opinion. Of course, that isn't really an issue right at the moment with relatively few chapters completed.

I was thinking along the line of 1 link per volume or so. You could have something like, "this book is also being turned into an audio book, check out the progress here" link for unfinished volumes, and "there is an audio book of this volume, check it out" link for fully read volumes. I am hoping to have Volume 1 of Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou up within the next 2-3 weeks, so I guess I am thinking ahead. :3

@ Oni

These audio readings require the permission of the translator, right?

As long as we don't need permission from the Translators to read the scripts from Baka-Tsuki, there is no need to ask for permission for it to be read on youtube or soundcloud.

So in case that a translator is strongly against his translation being read we screw
All translated works(a) rights are properties of their respective translators.
and just let people do what they want? This might lead to interesting results. You might want to reconsider this.

Eh, I'll write a bit more. The translations posted on this site are not under a free license. You can't do with them what you want. In doubt, the translator did want nothing else than that people can read it here (!). This means that the translator, in doubt, did not want his work posted on youtube, a random blog, or it being painted on a skyscraper in New York.

It's not like there'd be a problem to ask the responsible translator before posting it. We do that with alternative languages too.

cautr does mention a valid point. Well, it doesn't hurt to ask the translator beforehand. Unless he disappeared, of course.

Sorry mate to crush your dreams.

TLG Translation Common Agreement v.0.4.1

Section B Under no circumstances would you(b2) 1. submit works(a) that are licenced(d) in the country the server and/or the submitter is located in. 2. submit translated works(a) copied directly from an unauthorized source such as, but not limited to, online, written sources etc. . If you(b2) submit works(a) that have been authorized by their rights holder, permission, in the form of written/electronic/printed must be available upon request. All translated works(a) rights are properties of their respective translators. By submitting translated works(a) to this wiki(0) you(b2) agree that All works(a) will be deleted without warning upon request by the copyright holders..

That unfortunately means you do need permission to translate a work into another language, or turn it into another medium. And while most translators do not mind it, technically speaking they can block any actions like that and if a translator does not want their translation to be used, then you're out of luck.

Well, if that is the case, then I guess it is time to start contacting the translators isn't it? The translator for the series I am doing is Js06. Anybody know the best way to get in touch with him?
