Re: New Baka-Tsuki Android App: Development
After upgrading my Google Nexus 7 (2012) to Android 4.4 application doesn't fit text to screen automatically on zoom, like it was before. Now after zooming a page reader makes it scrollable in every direction, but does not "rebuild" the text itself to match new zoom ratio. So as of now it is possible to read normally only at 100% zoom ratio.

They change the WebView engine to Chrome, which doesn't support the text reflow.JraahMraah wrote:After upgrading my Google Nexus 7 (2012) to Android 4.4 application doesn't fit text to screen automatically on zoom, like it was before. Unfortunately it is still like this — the text doesn't reflow. In case if it could help somehow, here is the detailed info on my Android build:Nandaka wrote: They change the WebView engine to Chrome, which doesn't support the text reflow.

Still doesn't work. Just for the sake of clean experiment, here is what I have done:Nandaka wrote:Can you use this version: https://www.mediafire.com/?1bwemmckondp8ii
Add new option to Settings > Reading Layout > under Group 1 > enable KitKat WebView Zoom Fix.
1) Clear the cache, delete app data, uninstall the app;
2) Download new version from the link above;
3) Install the app;
4) Go to options, turn the zoom fix on;
5) Restart the app;
6) Re-download all the chapters that I need;
7) Try to zoom and it's still no good:

Can you try to zoom using the zoom control icon? I don't have 4.4 device and the emulator is very slow. Also is it possible to get the log file when zooming?JraahMraah wrote:Still doesn't work. Re: New Baka-Tsuki Android App: Development
I tried both zoom methods, with gesture as well as with zoom control buttons, it works just the same. As for the log when zooming, I will gladly take one as soon as I know the way how it's done. At first glance under the "Developer options" menu the "Select debug app" list contains only two items, and I don't know yet, how to make other apps to appear there. Need some time to google.Nandaka wrote:Can you try to zoom using the zoom control icon? I don't have 4.4 device and the emulator is very slow. Also is it possible to get the log file when zooming?

Re: New Baka-Tsuki Android App: Development
There seems to be an issue when trying to read the Infinite Stratos series in the app although i can switch between the original and the re-write versions of the English version there is an issue of navigating with the Previous and Next buttons at the top because when i finish a chapter i have to return to my watch list then slecet the novel and expand the volume im currently reading and finally select the next chapter.
it is on my Samsung Previal 2 Android Version 4.1.2 and BakaReaderEX version 1.1.12-beta2(20121122) [ although i do not know how i got to using the beta version]

This is the limitation, as the rewritten chapter is not listed in the IS index page, so the application cannot the the chapter tree.Wolfpup wrote:There seems to be an issue when trying to read the Infinite Stratos series in the app although i can switch between the original and the re-write versions of the English version there is an issue of navigating with the Previous and Next buttons at the top because when i finish a chapter i have to return to my watch list then slecet the novel and expand the volume im currently reading and finally select the next chapter.

i could understand that for the re-write part but it is also doing the same thing for the original version as well which would be listed on the IS index page.Nandaka wrote:This is the limitation, as the rewritten chapter is not listed in the IS index page, so the application cannot the the chapter tree.Wolfpup wrote:There seems to be an issue when trying to read the Infinite Stratos series in the app although i can switch between the original and the re-write versions of the English version there is an issue of navigating with the Previous and Next buttons at the top because when i finish a chapter i have to return to my watch list then slecet the novel and expand the volume im currently reading and finally select the next chapter.

Re: New Baka-Tsuki Android App: Development
If you currently reading the rewritten page, the next/prev button will not work, as the current reference is the rewritten one. If you move back to the original page, the button should works.Wolfpup wrote: i could understand that for the re-write part but it is also doing the same thing for the original version as well which would be listed on the IS index page.
on side note: I'm installing CM11/KitKat on my device (now triple booting on ICS/JB/KK)

The zoom bug is because of Google change the WebView engine and deprecate the text reflow when zoom feature. The latest 1.1.12-beta3 kinda fixed the feature, but still got issue on the (viewport?) width.

That is why I also included the original because the buttons are not functioning there either when I get to the end of a chapter and press next I get the message 'there are no more chapters' when I'm still in the first volume and the series has 8 volumes plus side stories.Nandaka wrote:If you currently reading the rewritten page, the next/prev button will not work, as the current reference is the rewritten one. Weird, mine is working.Wolfpup wrote: That is why I also included the original because the buttons are not functioning there either when I get to the end of a chapter and press next I get the message 'there are no more chapters' when I'm still in the first volume and the series has 8 volumes plus side stories.
1. Open IS novel
2. Open Volume 1 Chapter 1
3. Press Next until Afterwords.
4. When I press Next again, it bring me to the Volume 2's Novel Illustration.
Anyway, I'm releasing new version to handle KitKat WebView issue, see if it fix your case cos I do touch the prev/next button to handle null value.
If it is still not working, I might need your log file.
