41,4% said no to dropping the support for older Android, so I think I will keep it for now.
But the "Yes" won by a simple majority of almost a fifth? Now I'm confused. :|

Any chance you may at some point figure out what the issue is? I'm not sure how I can contribute more than the logs I've already shared.

I guess it would be helpful to ask if anyone else if running a Lollipop based ROM and has this problem, so as to ascertain whether it's a problem with 5.0 or a problem with me.

How can it be there are only 7% using Gingerbread but they won 40% of the vote?

With that and 40% is still a minority, I wonder why you've decided to maintain gingerbread compatibility?

I have a problem with the app not showing anything in the light novels under all the tabs. Everything else shows properly. I don't have adblock, antivirus, or a firewall installed. I'm using a Oneplus One on a rooted CM11s.

So, apparently being in flight mode or having no internet connection also breaks all image thumbnails aside from those on the Illustration pages. Meaning the 80px thumbnails on illustration pages work fine, but 180px thumbnails and magnify icons in the text are broken.

I checked the thumbnail cache and confirmed that all the thumbnails ARE present, so I think something's going wrong when it attempts to load them for some reason.

Logcat anyway although I'm not certain how much it will help. I opened an illustration page of Horizon 1-A, then opened the preface. This is a log filtered for "lnreader".

Not sure if the dev is still reading this but when I updated my tablet (Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE) from 4.4 KitKat to 5.0.2 Lollipop (official Samsung ROM) the thumbnails problem started on that too so I guess unless someone else is having this problem on a lower version of Android that means it's some kind of Lollipop related problem.

Oregairu translation for BakaReader Ex

Post by Xaroz »

Hello, I am new to the forum so I am not pretty sure if I am posting on the right section or am I doing the right question.

The thing is that the light novel for "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As I Expected" has two options, one which has no translation and one that send you to a website, and there's not really a link to download it, so if it's possible could you add the translation for the website to be able to download it on BakaReader Ex? Unless there's already a way to download the english translation for Volume 2-6

Nandaka and to other people who are working on the app or any other kind of program,

Please make sure that the requests that are sent to www.baka-tsuki.org and not baka-tsuki.org

Because I will be forcing a rewrite from baka-tsuki.org to www.baka-tsuki.org

Images won't load

Post by DeathCon »

Been trying to get into this place for a while but kept having my IP blocked strangely by this site....

Anyway the problem I'm facing is that the images in Baka reader ex will not download but the text downloads fine.

The App was originally on another phone until I transfered it along with the image libary and novels, it worked fine for a few months but started not loading the images about a month ago. The new phone is running Android 5.0.2, Previously it was on 4.4.4 just a week ago so I know it isn't to do with my android version.

I've tried the HTTPS option along with the option to load the App Keystore as well with no results.

The images will cycle through a retry that I set as three, regardless if the HTTPS setting is set on or not.

I've uninstalled the app, deleted my pictures and still don't know what's happening.

Hope this isn't a too out of the ordinary problem.

Thanks in Advance

Never mind.

Found the problem a few pages back and it's to do with Android not allowing the images to be downloaded to my SD card, the Mix Content part which I believe is the same problem I'm experiencing.

So I like to know whether I can fix this myself or I'll have to wait for a patch to come out for this?

App Sugestion/Help!!

Post by John34404 »

So currently the app is working fine with the wiki site coding slowly becoming into a workable format. I usually have limited internet access, due to that fact I download the works onto my phone.
Currently the works that I loaded from the app are located inside my phones memory instead of the 64 GB SD card attached to it. This is the fact even though the app itself is set to be on my SD card.

I would like the books to be able to be moved to the SD card due to my phone giving me the storage memory running out sermon. I am planning on resetting my phone to factory settings and have moved essential app data to the SD card (5/64 GB used) the only one I am currently concerned about is the Baka app.

Thank you for your consideration.
I am John34404.

Okay so after reinstalling the app, all the load issues disappeared, might have been some old setting or something.

However now after trying to reload images from a database, none of the thumbnails are showing up. It's just the thumbnails, but all of them so as I read I get the broken image icon, or the cover page displays "bitmap empty". Images are still there, tapping on the broken image icon goes to the image stored on my phone, but otherwise all the thumbs are miss

Nothing short of completely deleting and redownloading the novel fixes this, and I've downloaded a lot of them and dont want to spend all the time doing so again. Help?

Hi all, sorry for MIA for a while.

Updated the app now (still in beta, but OK enough. Need more testing before I release to googleplay).
Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/qdzdz ... -beta2.apk

Change Log for 1.1.31-beta2
- Update UI to use material design.
- Replace ActionBarSherlock with appcompat.
- Fix cover issue.
- Update external page handling.

please report the issue to GitHub: https://github.com/calvinaquino/LNReader-Android/issues

Try the beta version.

Go to Settings -> Storage -> Change the Image Save Location to your SD Card. As for DB, you cannot move it to SD card...

You need to move the data manually and (optionally) run Settings -> Storage -> Relink Images

Try to change the save path to something like:

Code: Select all

/<your_sd_card_path/Android/data/com.erakk.lnreader/files

It is done from start, unless the link in the contents point to baka-tsuki.org directly.

Those are not hosted in the baka-tsuki, so you need to ask the translator. Another option is by enabling the option to show and save the external page (may bit buggy). You can enable it from Settings -> General -> Use Internal WebView and Save External Url option.
