pdf generator

as we all know the epub gen is open source on github

so with permission from simon i would like to add pdf creating functionality to this
however i'm at a loss as to which one i should use since i'm going to be doing it in php
there are 2 options
the original built in functionality that comes with php http://php.net/manual/en/book.pdf.php
or
the open source library known as free pdf(fpdf) http://www.fpdf.org/
I honestly don't see the stuff fpdf offers necessary
But i'd rather get feedback from the community and simon on which one to use since i'm going to make it for baka-tsuki
especially since i don't know what all baka-tsuki needs in the pdf
