Just have the opportunity to finished volume 1 and I have to say that it was beautiful. Quite a romantic and touching story. Really, big thanks to the translators and editors working on this series. Looking forward to the next volume.

Glad you liked the first volume Shiroux. Second volume is continuing the great story so far. Can't wait to get you guys some more chapters. Mystrael should be close to done with Chapter 2, but I think school is keeping him busy so it might be another week.

One quick question for the folks following this story: What is your opinion on Eve vs Evhe for Evhemary's name as the true spirit of night? Mystrael and I talked about it and think that Eve is a better choice as it matches with her title as the woman of origin for the night colored recitations. Any thoughts? Opinions? Preferences?

All other things being equal Mystrael and I are leaning towards Eve due to the woman of origin connection. Though we gladly welcome feedback.

I'd be inclined simply due to "eve"-ning. ("Night" would be considered the "evening before the dawn of a new day" and all that. :P ) In any event, both Eve/Mary are biblical names relating to origin (Mary, mother of Jesus and all that), and it looks less wrong then Evhemary. :)

I agreed that Eve might be a better choice. Evhemary when shorten to Evhe...I couldn't really pronoun it...right.
Spoiler! :
And to fit the story, as she already *lost* her name, giving her a similar name instead is the better option.

I agree with your spoiler point. That thought had crossed my mind as well.

Hi everyone, I just uploaded a PDF for volume 1, with a proper furigana as its main feature (which I had to add every single one manually).

Volume 10?!? I'm still painfully transcribing (and reading) volume 3. It'll be a while before I reach 10 lol

Thanks for the PDF arczyx.

Also to everyone waiting, Volume 3 is worth it. Right now Mystrael and I are tag teaming it with me transcribing and Mystrael translating. Once I finish transcribing Volume 3 I will give another shot at translating. Right now though the OCR program the two of us use is doing a pretty crappy job. So my goal is to maximize Mystrael's effective translating time and continue to get immersed in the japanese. Then once we are ahead on accurate chapters I'll do some translations myself.

If any of you know of a good resource for learning the verb endings / permutations I could use it badly. My Kanji recognition skills have jumped dramatically but my verb tense skills are still.... miserable.

Are you transcribing it from Japanese? Amazon.co.jp has kindle versions of this entire series it seems.

I'm starting to think I should setup a paypal account for donations so I can buy and rip the text from the kindle versions so people's time isn't wasted so badly on things like this. :? This series hasn't attracted my attention enough to buy it yet.

What are you using? It sounds like you're using an non-asian language OCR tool for asian languages and in that instance "we support Japanese" usually means "we support Japanese poorly". Since you can translate (or at least understand it enough to understand google translate's warped version of it), you'll probably want to try using a Japanese one. This one's worked well for me: http://mediadrive.jp/products/et/ e.Typist v14 NEO has a 5-day 'trial' that should be more then enough to get a volume or two done.

If you're proficient using virtual machines, installing a copy of windows in a Virtualbox vm, snapshotting, then installing e.Typist, using it, and reverting should mean you can 'reuse' the trial a few times since getting a legit copy outside of Japan is painful. :(
