Hmmm, I'm curious, are the color images in volume 1 gonna get fixed to remove the lines in the middle?

Also, why are the chapter titles having 『』in volume 3? I mean, those are just quotation marks and don't really look as good for the page (and chapter title).

I also am wondering if anybody was able to find the alternative versions of this series(less censored and echi-er cover; but it is still official). Most of the images I found for the volumes were pretty bad quality (I guess people were just not as interested) and I didn't find one for volume 4 either.

The quotation marks will be removed when I format the existing volume three text.

Ah yeah I just left them in when I transferred the parts over to the wiki. I don't have the source or anything since I'm not a translator, so I had no clue what to do with them haha

Err if you want KLS I can change the quotation marks if you want. Just let me know~

soo, if you upload a newer version of the image does it delete the old one? (I accidentally uploaded the wrong image (twice >.>) for V1 Colour page 03 before uploading the correct one).

but now the page break of that colour page is removed

No, it doesn't delete the old one (the data is still there unless if someone removes it.

And you my friend are awesome XD If only all series had people edit these kind of pictures like you did, it would be awesome XD

Definitly need more people like you man XD.

As a long time lurker, I generally don't involve myself in a lot of things here in the forums, however I do have a little bit I'd like to say on the topic of translations.

First, while I am not a Japanese translator, I am a translator professionally for other languages. I'm also someone who studies shortsword, and so this discussion caught my eye.

I'd like to point out that when translating terms, as opposed to localizing, you still have to worry about the three types of relationships between the languages.

1 to 1
many to 1
1 to many

The one that causes editors the most heartburn is the last one. The reason is that English is a language that conveys nuance more from word choice than context.
By that I mean, choosing to describe someone as cowardly instead of fearful (a contrived example obviously) produces very very different reactions in the reader. And unless I go through contortions, there's almost no way to use context to convey the subtext of fearful when I use the word cowardly, because cowardly has it's own subtext that it drags along no matter the context.
Japanese, from my relatively limited knowledge is much more context driven.

On the topic of translation of the kenjutsu and kendo. I've not read nor attempted yet to read this in the raw, so what I say may not apply correctly, and if so please feel free to correct me.
That said, kendo can be translated as kendo, swordsmanship, fencing or a few other terms. I would not blindly translate kendo as swordsmanship throughout the entire text just because it was used in an inclusive way in one context. Take for example a series about highschoolers who actually do kendo, the japanese sport. I would usually leave the word kendo (seeing as how it's in the English dictionary), however a western fencer arrives, and they talk about kendo, but in the context it's clear that they are talking about kendo in a way that includes fencing. Now I would have to get really careful, and it may be that even during that discussion I'd translate kendo alternately as fencing, or kendo. The reason being that I am trying to convey the nuance, and while in Japanese they are using the context to provide the distinction, in English the distinction is much better made using the different terms. So while I agree that consistency is important in the translation of terms, when being excessively consistent, or excessively broad, you can loose all nuance and distinction, because English just doesn't use context specificity the same way a lot of other languages use it. And English readers are primed to use different words more than different context to internalize distinctions.
I could also go into the fact that English has a LOT of terms to convey nuance for dealing with various ways of fighting with various swords, which Japanese seems to lack.

Now admittedly I usually translate legal documents, and it's REALLY REALLY important to draw distinctions that are very clear in English, when the distinction exists contextually but not in word choice in the original text.

I believe your principle is quite right: we should not blindly translate kenjutsu exclusively as swordsmanship, or to leave it as kenjutsu either, without considering both context and word choice for every instance the translation is needed. The current text has not been finalized; it is one attempt at finding the right variations, starting with the broad stroke of focusing on consistency. Consistency is valuable for various reasons, and while it doesn't outweigh every consideration, it can serve as a reasonable baseline from which to improve. From there, we will be tweaking quite a lot more as we explore different diction.
