The current character profile situation is temporary. Your idea is one approach to consider, though adding an page inside the volume is undesirable because it contradicts the physical layout of the novel. My current idea involves editing the image so that the translated text is incorporated into the image itself, but that has its own layout problems.

Well, it doesn't have to be perfectly like the novels, and it wouldn't look too bad either. It's a web page that's being a translation of a novel. So this kind of approach could work and if people wanted to make a PDF or something, it would be more customizable. And for a web page, it'd work great. I personally think organization is more important than trying to make it perfectly like the LNs. And it's not something new to find these things at the end of a novel anyways and would help the reading experience more.

Well that's just my opinion. I do think it's better than what we have now and it wouldn't really hinder the project in any way. The worst it does is add one extra page per volume and it shouldn't really ruin the readers experience.

How many people seemed to notice how the rating works for peoples ranks? From what I could tell, if you make the ratings from 1-6 (1 being f & 6 being A and the "+" being "*.5") then so far, from what is seen, people above 20 points seem to be B-rank (lowest 22.5 so far; highest 29 points), people above 30 points are A-rank, no C-rank is higher than 19 points (so far), the highest D-rank is 17 points (lowest 16_, and the only F-rank is 12 points........

But if you could go by these numbers, then our little protagonist could raise his ranking from F-rank to (at most) a D-rank if he focused on improving his magic control (and at least a E-rank).

Sorry deathmailrock, I was replying to your post but didn't notice that I hit "edit" on that post instead of "quote", and by the time I realized it I had already submitted, so I can't restore the bottom part of your message that I didn't quote. I sincerely apologize for that.

It may be more complicated than simply total attribute points. The story explicitly says that physical attributes are valued less than magic attributes, so these six categories may be weighted unequally for calculating the total Blazer rank.
But if you could go by these numbers, then our little protagonist could raise his ranking from F-rank to (at most) a D-rank if he focused on improving his magic control (and at least a E-rank).
Magic control is apparently measured by how much magic power a Blazer uses to activate a particular magic effect, and how precisely he controls magic effects that he activates. Since Ikki has so little magic power he can't even produce the standard magic effects that other Blazers do, much less precisely control such effects, is there even a way to detect an increase in his magic control attribute alone? The single rank of magic control he does have probably comes entirely from displaying Ittou Shura.

It's hard to say.

It's okay, I believe the Main Points are being discussed, all I did I believe was add on that it might not be so easy to increase. And while I'm not saying it's definite, I do think that it might point to something, but yes, your points are good... but it'd be interesting if he at some point was able to become an E-rank after increasing his Magic Control (which would be the only thing he could possibly increase in his ranking) or even a D-rank.... but it'd also pull away from the point that Rank isn't everything.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm interested in editing for the Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan project. On KLSymph's discussion page on the website, it said to mention this in the discussion thread. I'm a total newb at being involved in projects like this, so yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Sure, if you'd like to try editing, go ahead and make changes you think are necessary to volume two or three and show us what you can do.

Happy New Year, Rakudai Kishi readers!

As promised, I've posted the results of proofreading volume one over the last two months, and removed the teaser tag as so many people wanted. It was a grueling editing job, but hopefully I've improved the volume enough that we can call it worthy of a main project without me exploding halfway through the declaration. Fellow editors, please go through it and find the remaining errors that I can't see because I've read volume one so many times the text gives me hallucinations now. Lifeman120, we still have to get those character profiles finalized sometime.

I'm going to take a break for a while, so here are my lingering thoughts on volume one:
Spoiler! :
Shizuya: Ha ha, you're no match for a Blazer who has real talent!

Ikki: Oh no, how will I beat this guy?

Stella: Ikki, you're an idiot. Stop being an idiot.

Ikki: You're right Stella, I should totally use my ability to defeat Blazers through dodgy understanding of behavioral psychology.

KLSymph: I spent like three days translating this.
And a prosperous 2015 to all!
