Hmmm, I always read it as Panther Grizzly(MT/kata knowledge). Just making sure if its Panzer or Panther so I can remember it next time xD.

The kanji is 鋼鉄の荒熊, "Steel Wild Bear", so the パンツァー part is 鋼鉄, "steel". That would fit Panzer (a German tank) more than it would fit Panther.

Also, Panther Grizzly doesn't make too much sense. But I did consider the possibility at the time.

And lo, I created the full text, because nobody else did.

Now that everyone's had the chance to finish the volume, I'd like to say that translating chapters three and four--which I think have been the most personal and vivid scenes of Ikki Kurogane contemplating his own despair in the story thus far (and translating volume one chapter four, where that was also present)--has been emotionally powerful for me. This is odd, because the circumstances of his despair are, seen from a distance, rather barren of detail. Where there is detail, they tend to be cartoonish--for example, Akaza is the only example of a Kurogane clan member outside the immediate family who mistreats Ikki, but as a representative of that important facet of Ikki's despair he works poorly because he is such an unrealistic mass of buffoonish evil. Nevertheless, even if Ikki's situation strains my suspension of disbelief, I did find myself empathizing with the character as I translated each line of Ikki getting stomped in the face by life over and over. Getting an emotional pull from a story is important, and I... if "enjoyed" is not quite the word... can appreciate that.

But.

Hey Shizuku, I know we're having a real "spirit bomb" moment with all of Ikki's friends here, but I have to ask. What you did, after a night of thinking on the student president's request that you persuade him not to fight in the match, was to gather up all the people who knew Ikki personally to cheer for him before the match and give him a great boost in morale before that match, because you knew from listening to Kagami that the Ethics Committee had probably tormented Ikki mentally and emotionally. So you got a big group of people (no less than ten or twenty, but given Ikki's classmates, pupils, and former opponents, probably in the range of fifty or so) and now we're all standing at the main gate of the academy cheering for Ikki as he stumbles toward us. Nobody, not even Oreki-sensei, wants to go fetch a medical team the instant we saw that he was visibly nigh-unconscious, with back bent like an old man and skin becoming blue from cyanosis? And during the however many minutes it takes him to come into view and then wobble his way over the threshold, no one wants to run back to the arena to find a stretcher, or at least try to inform the officials that he made it but he's obviously in bad shape (even if they might not care)? When your brother falls into your arms, Shizuku, while feverish and coughing from inability to breathe and having tumbled roughly onto asphalt once already, you don't want to use some of your mighty A-rank magic control to heal his illness or injury and give him a marginal advantage in the upcoming fight? Nobody goes and tries to find a wheelchair so that even if the guy needs to get to his match quickly, at least we can let him sit down and get his strength back by rolling him there? We're just going to rah-rah-rah a bit?

Well, at least we didn't jump from zero to "fast enough to be in punching range before the victim notices" while carrying the poor kid even though he's bleeding everywhere after his body was strained beyond its breaking point.

Look Ikki, I'm sure these people are very important to you, but if you're gonna use self-damaging techniques like Ittou Shura and Ittou Rasetsu as a primary tactic, have you ever thought about making friends with someone who's taken an intro course in proper first aid handling?

...As you can see, it's hard for me to take this story seriously at times.

Hey, I thought the winners get their medals in an official investiture ceremony after the selection battles. Even if Stella won her match super fast, where did she get her medal? Does the school give one medal for winning in the representative selection battles and another one later for becoming a representative... by winning the battles that... exist only to select representatives...?

Anyway.

Anyone who sees a problem in the text can edit. The worst that will happen is that I have to overwrite it when doing my deep polishing runs.

Thanks to everyone for your support. It makes those last few days of translating thirty pages each day more worthwhile.

In the spirit of obeying the forum rule that forbids asking about when chapters are released, I can't answer that question.
