I still say that spirit works better than element. Spirit can cover every base and is a broader term, while element is more specific and you have to be nitpicky about it. Sword spirit sounds normal to me, compared to sword elemental.

Right, Est's standing is quite unclear, as she's not Holy. But since she's a demon sword (IIRC), would she count towards Darkness element? Or simply in the Demon Spirit class (which might be of Darkness element, not sure atm)?
As for the others, I wouldn't go as far "former" Elemental Lords. I highly doubt there were any former Lords, as it's kinda hard to get rid of a spirit altogether. Scarlet is simply a very powerful Fire spirit, just like Restia is a very powerful Darkness spirit (who happens to be a manifestation of Ren Ashdoll at the same time, though. This part is kinda slippery, because she's just as much of an Elemental Lord as Kamito is the Demon King - they are incarnations, but not without their own personalities and free wills. If you've read Tsukihime, it'd make sense, as there's a very similar situation with Roa). That's shown by them having humanoid shapes, as explained either midway through the ten volumes or closer to the end, when Scarlet is unsealed.
I suspect that Ellis's hawk and Fianna's knight might reveal some sort of incredible power (think Balance Breaker from DxD). They might acquire (unseal) humanoid forms, though I hope the author won't go as far with OP-ing the main team. Though their power-up might be then explained with sudden plot, and that might feel slightly strained...
And speaking of power-ups, I suppose Kamito will unlock Est's full power either at the end of this or next volume. Of course, after Restia decides to not be too jelly about it because of a life-threatening situation.
A harem of swords, ffs...
Spoiler! :
Est isn't Demon Sword but Demon Slayer

Spoiler! :
doesn't est consider herself a demon sword due to how she gets her power via the lifeforce of her contractor though?

I think that's just how she views herself. She's bringing herself down, like self-pity. She just called herself a demon sword to avoid hurting Kamito.

I still think Est is some kind of Holy element spirit, but it's just my opinion, we'll have to wait for a proper explanation of the author about this.

Volume 9:
Although Est was crowned with the title of the «Demon Slayer» for vanquishing the Demon King, in actual fact, she was not a spirit possessing the holy attribute but a sword spirit with the attribute of «Steel».

She did not possess the power to purify filth.

it actually is kind of everything. the volumes where he gathers teammates was slow but still bearable. the fight is good but kind of lacking in a sense (i cannot put my finger on it, or maybe im comparing this to hellsing n afro samurai :P), but in all it is a great book. it is not like to love ru where fanservice is everything and plot is secondary. it like plot and story then put some fanservice to the readers. sometimes i get pissed of at a certain heroine and the mc for doing this and that (i kinda think about some situation realistic and put myself on the mc shoe and what he would feel)

to all people who thinks about the harem genre. well here is a scenario think if most of the mc team mates are guys and both of his swords are also male (by the way both turns to a bishounen person). that sound so fantas... wrong.

but hey this is my personal opinion. we all have different impression.

The author makes use of all those elements wonderfully. Most of it is plotline and story, but fan service and humor are added appropriately and accordingly. There really isn't much missing, except maybe length, and things get more intense the further you read. It's typical, but a fantastic piece nevertheless.

I try to do this too but I always find a new interesting novel to read and end up not reading the same novel twice

I glanced at the recent changes for Seirei and thought that the changes made to v1ch8 and v2prologue by an anon on May 26-27 might be candidates for undoing, for similar reasons as that anon's other changes were undone on the other chapters. I don't like undoing others' edits myself if I'm not actually part of the project. At the least, there's a few things that should be fixed (I shuddered leaving the page without fixing "pauzed", but assumed it would be undone anyways). Though, I haven't done enough talk page hopping to follow the recent discussions on Seirei editing, so perhaps it was already discussed.
