It's just the number of illustrations in vol 6 compared to the other volumes seem little.

You are right, I don't know how to edit it without change the meaning of the sentence - I can only think of edits like this: "Both of the girls fluttered their hair, the former's Yellow Topaz blonde hair and the latter's ponytail."
OR
"Yellow Topaz blonde hair and ponytail were fluttered".
I can think of better edits but those edits are confusing almost as the current version.
