Re: Carnival Phantasm
I voted to attempt to go out with everyone. I want to see how they work it out with the F/SN girls mostly, I think that would be entertaining.

Although I did not vote, I would be fine with either one. Frankly, I just would like to see this eventually develop into a Melty Blood series or something because I would like to see some of the characters from there get more developed.YoakeNoHikari wrote:Who voted, and for what?
Just curious.

Re: Carnival Phantasm
Eh. Have you played the Melty Bloods?
To me, this is just a gag manga and I love it that way.

I have played most of them. They are fun. Some of the combos that you can do in that game are sick.

I'm not too great at fighting games. Well, before we get too off topic, I just wanted to mention that, while character development isn't exactly amazing, the story is pretty coherent. I believe the manga develops Sion more as a character, thought not Riesbyfe, (not Act 2 of course.) Also, I think I heard that a PC port of one of the Melty Blood's, (the latest? Actress again?) was release. I don't really have much information, though.

Re: Carnival Phantasm
To my knowledge, all of the above is true.
More BOT, Carnival Phantasm is definitely a good look at the sillier side of the Tsukihime and Fate universe.

Doess Tsukihime's VN has the same plot as the manga version? I've never played it.

Re: Carnival Phantasm
Tsukihime's manga follows Arcueid's true route, from Near Side of the Moon. The other route in Near Side of the Moon is Ciel's; in Far Side of the Moon, routes include Hisui's, Kohaku's and Akiha's. There are interlacing/common elements from all the routes, but the majority of Shiki's background life is covered in Far Side of the Moon. Far Side of the Moon and Near Side of the Moon have different antagonists, and the plot is quite different. From what I remember, Near Side of the Moon had more action with Shiki. There was also a rape scene in Arcueid's route in Near Side of the Moon; this, I believe, as I have never played an all-ages version, can be avoided by playing the non-ero version.
I recommend playing Tsukihime for the other routes and Arcueid's good end. The only major dislike I had was the OST and that some scenes would drag. Nasu-sensei's erotic writing is hardly spectacular either.

I like how they even included the playable Saber from Fate/Extra in one of the episodes

Re: Carnival Phantasm
Saber in F/E is ridiculously Op.
After you pop her Reality Marble, the subsequent pierce specials you use just completely trivialize any tournament opponent.
Even if Caster can advocate a more destructive shutdown, the pattern recognition you need to have is a few degrees greater. Plus, her point build doesn't allow for a pump STR and CON build like Saber.

But you get almost free NPs with Caster, that already makes her insanely fun

Re: Carnival Phantasm
Never said she wasn't fun; she's the most fun, since she's the most difficult.
I liked the Saber route - or storyline or whatever - better though.
By that, I mean the history exposition they give when they tell their name.

Re: Carnival Phantasm
That means that it will probably appear at Comiket. You might want to post this in the Comiket thread.
