Or, Or, you could move the zoom button, like on the middle of the right side rather than the bottom (then rotate it if it gets in the way)
I don't think Android has a way to move the zoom control.

jomkingal wrote:it seems that whenever i download a light novel, when the screen timeouts, the download unexpectedly stops. :( try setting your screen timeout to 30 seconds then download a light novel(i downloaded high school dxd and sword art online) then while downloading, the screen turns off, then when you press the home button to see what's happening, you will notice that the download isn't responding anymore. it's stuck on the last image or text it has been downloading. :(
The download still happen in the background, only the status update from the download task is not retrieved anymore. I'll see what I can do.

Hi my name is Amr and i am working as we speak on an android app for baka-tsuki (not the new one here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5487 ) and will be finish from 25.10.2012 date ( best case scenario 7 days, normal case scenario 10, worst case scenario 14+ i have exams from 6.11 to 20.11 i am a university student ) this will be of course free and will have the following function

01. reading novel online and offline
02. my watch list (this will be the one from your account on the website)
03. theme changer ( we will use the pic from the web site you know like the cover of each novel as a back ground)
04. a form button (for easy access to the form from inside the app )
05. change text and back ground color
06. search and in chapters search
07. Notification for update on my watch list and in general
08. auto update features for my watch list
09. the clear chapter option (when you are done with chapter and you want space but still didn't finish the whole novel )
10.reading using scrolling and flipping the page

And much more as we go but these are the one in version 1

The reason for the app is actually an apology for all the novel reader from me to them because i read manga and watch anime but i never understand how can some one read a novel it has no pic no sound and it is boring or that's what i used to think and then i watched Sword art online and one thing led to another and i start reading the novel it was so much fun and entertaining and i wanted to read more so i download the old app and when they say the developer went MIA My app idea as a contribution for this great website and its community and as an apology for forgetting what is the feeling of fun and the imagination when you read a novel or a book not university text book  WOW that was long :) any way i want you to know i respect the new development of the new app here( viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5487) but i want to do my own for the reason i just told you .

Hopefully your new friend Amr H.alhbahbeh please contact my for any suggestion and request and for the current app developers you have my utmost respect it's just that this my first truly project i want to do and i just cant wait and i want to do it alone for the first version please forgive my Selfishness

Sure, it is nice to have choice :D
Btw is it open source? Can you put your app source code in GitHub so we can learn too?

Hi!~ Tutturu!~ I haven't been able to recreate that problem last time so i think it's just a problem in my connection. :3 Anyway, i found out that when the screen is off while downloading(screen off from timeout of 2 minutes), it pauses the download when downloading a novel. (e.g. High School DxD) and when you reopen the screen, it is still downloading at chapter 2. Is it just me?
Edit: By the way, i'm using mobile network connection. (3G)

Also, are you still working on making LNReader(i hope it becomes BakaReaderX soon. haha!) send the text files on sd? i figured out that the old bakareader sends the text in html form to external sd together with the thumbs. that's why it maintains the small size of the app in the internal storage. :) i hope you can do it to BakaReaderX soon. :) (cheers! haha!)
Currently Reading Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, High School DxD, Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha.
Currently playing Majikoi! (series) *(at Chris Route), Dota 2.
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata(Hope to see this Light Novel here at Baka-Tsuki, <3 Kasumigaoka Utaha-senpai~)

I love Kawakami Momoyo~ <3

I'll check about it. In the latest version (v20121026b), it should continue to show the download progress if the download task haven't finished.

You are correct. Still checking out the way I can implement this...

EDIT: moved the DB to SD card, it is better to uninstall the old apk before updating to the new one to recover the free space. If not, you might need to delete the old db manually.
APK will be uploaded later :D

Change Log for v20121029:
  • Fix parsePageAPI to use url encoder/decoder
  • Refactor AsyncTask from DisplayLightNovelListActivity
  • Move DB to SD Card
Special Notes:
1. You can either uninstall the apk first then install this version so you can get clean DB, or
2. You can copy the db located in /data/data/com.erakk.lnreader/databases/pages.db to /mnt/sdcard/Android/com.erakk.lnreader/databases/pages.db, install the apk, then delete the old db.

Cool! Nice update! Thanks Nandaka! Gonna try the update later. haha! :)
Edit! Waha!~ Bestest(new word. lol!) update ever! Haha! Thanks for the super awesome update Nandaka! :) anyway, could you add an option to change the directory where database and thumbs are being saved? if you have the time. haha! :3 so we could save the novels to extra-sd in case internal sdcard is full. :)
Edit2: Another nice option if you could just make a server where the latest update is uploaded so that you will not always upload the latest updates on mediafire. then the app has an option when you click, it automatically downloads the updated app and installs it. :)
