Genesis wrote:The summer anime adaptations were somewhat disappointing to me (Campione, Hagure, Dakara), because they just skipped out on so much. Hagure and Dakara more than Campione (primarily because of the settings and original plot that Campione had). The backgrounds in campione were actually that of Europe.

The anime adaptations were real plug pullers on the other hand for for Hagure and Dakara. I can definitely go and read Campione for hours, but not Hagure and Dakara. I don't mind giving a chance to both of them again, but there are a lot of other LN's that seem very appealing. For Dakara, I've read the manga and have found it much more enthralling, however there are a lot of things that grab me more at the moment. The anime adaptation might have given me a completely wrong impression, for Hagure.
You can't really judge the quality of the Light Novels based on its anime adaptation. It's a pretty well - known fact that most (not all) anime adaptations of Visual Novels and Light Novels are vastly inferior (in terms of story) to its canon counterpart. So even though Hagure and Dakara might turn you off a little because the anime was a little bad, you can, at the very least, expect the Light Novel version to be a whole lot better. And based on the setting of Hagure (Fantasy, harem, romance from what I can tell), even if I thought the anime was bad I'd still check out the LN version.

Ah, sorry if you misunderstood me through what I posted. What you say is true, about the anime adaptations not giving a complete representation of the LN. I said I will check them out, but there are just so many other grabbing LNs that I probably wouldn't be glued to it. Overall for me Hagure was meh (plus I had no manga to read from to get a different fell, unlike Dakara). Maybe it's just me getting out of ecchi haha. Once again, I'm sorry if you misunderstood me.
Sorry I've been out >_<

Finished watching the anime (a while ago actually) and am looking forward to seeing what Akatsuki does at Alezzard. And his reunion with the Queen Risty!

Found the anime interesting, would love to read the LN.

From what I've read somewhere else in these forums, there is quite a bit of fan-service by the MC.

Saw the anime. Although it is old wine in new bottle, I see potential and it would be wonderful if you guys could translate it. Thanx.

Come on people, isnt almost every other lightnovel or manga that gets released nowadays are almost ditto's of another similar story. But I would like it translated, cus its HAREM. I mean it is almost every otaku's dream. Also from what I observed from the anime, the protagonist isnt someone who gets beaten an inch to death, but somehow miraculously revives, trains and defeats the bad guys.

Thanks for posting the prologue. I watched the anime (despite the generic sounding description), and really liked it.

The hero was refreshingly old school; a bit overpowering, but he had some morals and his own sense of justice. A bit ecchi, but not overly so. And he had a brain! The setting was different too... Going FROM the fantasy world instead of to it.

You could tell from watching the anime that there was a whole lot of backstory that was never revealed. Just reading the prologue, you learn a lot more about Akatsuki. And he seems even more interesting. I hope the novels don't devolve into a total ecchi harem story. Some is okay though.

Looking forward to reading more. (Crossing fingers)

The anime was decent considering that I haven't read the light novel yet. I would enjoy reading more of this though, especially since us readers can learn more about the characters that way. Like the fact that Akatsuki acts the way he does to separate the distinction of himself from his friend Leon by being a Rogue Hero.

Holy....this thing is long. Chapter 1 is like 13 pages (In contrast, silver cross & Drac was 9)

Adding 8 volumes....

Edit: No, walking away from this monster right now....must resist...epic stupidity.

question for those who read the book already
Spoiler! :
A little more detail about Muu's death was revealed in Vol 7. There SHOULD be more elaboration in vol 8, or 9.

Muu's death has nothing to do with their father it seems. According to what was mentioned, it seems that Akatsuki's brother obtains a power that puts him among the strongest in the world, and for some reason was in a fight with Akatsuki. In order to put an end to their pointless fight, Muu suicides in front of the two of them. While their father had nothing to do with it, Akatsuki knows well about how strong their father is, and would have prevented the fight, or Muu's death, should he be at home. Even up to this day, his father has never returned, thus Akatsuki puts him responsible towards Muu's death as well.
Spoiler! :
she died?
