KH, from what I read that I can interpret, 世はなべてこともなし, as almost a synonym with 世の中は変わらないてこと。?
Or it is my bad japanese telling me that I understood wrong?

Re: please help me translate
"The result is what counts." maybe? Or "It's the same thing if your acts don't yield fruit" if you're feeling literal. Too less context for something better.Ayame wrote:Yes, you are right, that's the meaning. Thanks for the input.

Can you help me decipher the exact meaning of there two sentences:
うつぶせになったところを踏みつける。 残った左腕は身体の下. Kaze no stigma v. 5 p. 89
This is my translation - He trampled down on it, lying face down. On the body with just one arm - but I'm not sure

Re: Translation - Help
First sentence in correct. I'd translate the second like this:
The remaining left arm was under the body.
The remaining left arm was under the body.

How can you translate that: 身体も声も大きな騎兵たちに唱和させた。?
I particularly have problem with that part I don't know how to put it in english.
Here is how I translate the sentence: the big cavalrymen also shouted in unison with both body and voice.
What do you think?

Hi, I also have a question, and, 馬鹿問。。。。
anyway's, (apart from my lame attempt to speak 日本語above, I'm stuck on this easy sentence.
ガラじゃないってか? in particular, ガラ, as a word or slang, I don't get it, the rest of the sentence is fine, of course.

The ガラ seems to be 柄 in 柄にもない which means out of character; unlike one, that's what it seemed like but I'll put link just in case. http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa ... 1047932615 @setsuna I'm still learning the grammars but isn't させた past tense of させる which means to make someone do something.
