On the Toaru Majutsu no Index page of the app, it seems that the app is unable to find anything on the wiki page that falls under Short Stories (e.g. Toaru Jihanki no Fanfare) and Official Parody Stories (e.g. A Certain Academy Index).

Would it be possible to tweak it so that those short stories and official parodies do appear in the list in the app like the app was tweaked a while back to make the entirety of Index itself work with it?

Thanks.

Suggestions to improve BakaReaderEX

Post by BigDragon »

Hi,

I would like to make the following suggestions:
1. indicate which novels you have already downloaded and which not - you could add a symbol next to the "watch" star - not downloaded/only parts/all
2. don't say "download all chapters" for novels you already downloaded - replace that button by "update" - or does the "refresh" button do that already?
3. give a general option in settings that says "save on internal memory" or "save von SD card"

(4. check the novels list - for example "Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There" doesn't show up on the reader - I know there isn't even one complete chapter but still)

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Hi, I'm new, i've been using bakareader ex for a couple of months and i love it, i even sugest a donate version to suport the developer but that said:
Is not any way of sync my reading betwin two devices? that would be a lifesaver! And
This is less important for the category "eyecandy" hehe what about some more data and options (like for example brightness below normal) in the full screen reading screen? Something like Moon reader do https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... moonreader for the time, progress of the novel etc.
Btw for reading at night i recomend night mode https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .nightmode to save your eyeballs, is great.

All this was said in a constructive mood, i hope i didn't said anything bad, and sorry for my english! (If is some way of sync please, tell me  )

Change Log for 1.1.15-beta
- Differentiate between Missing chapter (Red) with relink=1 chapter (Pink).
- New Feature for maintenance.
- Find and Delete Missing Chapter
- Find and Delete Redlink Chapter
- Find and Delete Empty Book
- Find and Delete Empty Novel
- New option to parse redlink chapter.

Download link http://www.mediafire.com/download/vrn12 ... e_play.apk

>> sync my reading betwin two device
No, it is kinda hard, as you need to sync the DB to somewhere (dropbox? google drive?), and require total change on the DB structure.
>> some more data and options (like for example brightness below normal)
Low priority as you can use the pull down menu to change the brightness, and this will require additional permission on the application.
>> All my saved novels went missing after i connected to the internet,
You mean the watched novels? Check the Main tab, as the chapters might be moved to another novel with the same name. This is because of title page change from the server. Worst case scenario, check your backup.

Ahaha, my bad, Download All Chapter will only download chapter that have an update or haven't downloaded yet, so yeah it does the update too.
Refresh will refresh the only the chapter list.

>>3. give a general option in settings that says "save on internal memory" or "save von SD card"
Bit hard, as each device has it owns definition for SDCard, sometimes it refers to the internal memory...
Also, it is not recommended to save the DB to SD Card, as it will hit performance issue.
You can specify any location for images or DB backups, though.

>> 4. check the novels list - for example "Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There" doesn't show up on the reader - I know there isn't even one complete chapter but still
It should show up in the Teaser List, you might need to update the list manually from the Teaser Tab (click the overflow menu ->Refresh), as only Main Tab will be included for auto update.

Is it possible to change the default storage location of downloaded novels to another folder or hard drive rather the device harddrive. For say I have a 64gb external micro card. I want to store all the downloaded novels into that hard drive instead. WOuld that be possible?

Not that easy, and Google is not recommending to putting the DB to the sd card (performance and security, also you need to check if the sd card is mounted...)
Also the DB is not that big compared to the downloaded images (which you can relocate to the SD card).

Update to 1.1.15-beta2:
- New option to ignore certificate error.
- Add alternative way to load WebArchive file.

I'm getting parse error while installing the .apk file with my app installer. I already used Baka Reader before so maybe there's something wrong with the file?
