Interview with the Voice Actresses
Here is an interview from ANN when the voice actresses were at Anime Expo. It is pretty interesting. You have to fast forward to about halfway through though.

No problem. I find this kind of stuff to be good for some kicks anyhow. Also, good to see you alive on the forum again. It has been a while, has it not?

Re: Interview with the Voice Actresses
heh...I don't think that Japanese people agree any more than we do...(That's pretty bad, I might want to rephrase that)
I'm not a fan of these interviews because, honestly, I don't want to know what the voice actor looks like.

Re: Interview with the Voice Actresses
At least on a superficial level, the Japanese are more into the "do not rock the boat" philosophy. If you were to study the Japanese language, one of the first things you would run across would be the particle "ne." This particle is used mainly for seeking agreement and when the speaker is unsure. It is used in the commonly used phrase "Sou desu ne," literally meaning, "It is so, is it not?" This particle is used quite frequently. This is just an example of how important agreement and cohesiveness are to the Japanese.

Yeah...pretty much. I am studying the Japanese language, and I don't exactly think that's gonna help making agreements.

Re: Interview with the Voice Actresses
The idea is that because the Japanese are so culturally interested in not causing others trouble, they want to naturally agree, at least on the outside. While they may personally disagree, they probably will not say it, unless it is something that is important or they feel strongly about. Even then, they still might not say it. This is so ingrained in them that it has become a part of their language with the "ne" particle and the fact that asking in the negative is considered more polite.

Didn't Zetsubou Sensei rant about this at some point?ainsoph9 wrote:The idea is that because the Japanese are so culturally interested in not causing others trouble, they want to naturally agree, at least on the outside. Yes, he did rant about this more or less. I think it was in episode 12, but I am not entirely sure.

The dubbing voice actresses?
I would love nothing more than to extrajudiciarily execute them......Especially Haruhi's
