I've been adding missing illustrations when I get the time, Volumes 19 and 20 still need illustrations added too. Unfortunetly I've been kinda busy lately so haven't had much time to either translate or do wiki cleanup. Also on the todo list is a full text version of Volume 22.

I'm away on a business trip for the next two weeks, so probably won't be able to make any progress until after I get back.

Re: Maria-sama ga Miteru by Oyuki Konno
Now that I've finished translating volume 33, I'm going to take a bit of a break. I've got some holidays coming up soon and don't want to start on another volume before then, so it'll probably be about a month before I resume translating.

Thanks for your kind words Darklor. Also a thank-you to Yobbin, who's been quite active as an editor on the Marimite novels. I've now returned from my holidays and should be starting on another volume within the next week or so.

First off the work put into these novels is great it's good to be able to read such a nicely written translation, and I'm happy that you've started on another volume.
Secondly I've uploaded the illustrations for vol 20 & 22 and linked in thumbnails of them in the text. However I didn't have a copy of the books to work from so I just guessed the locations in the text for the images. Would someone please be able to spend ten minutes looking them over to check if they are in the correct positions.

I wanted to thank you for the fantastic work of translation you are doing... I started reading two days ago and I have already finished the first six volumes, so I wanted to know... has somebody the intention to work on the volumes from 7 to 14 and from 23 to 28 covering the gaps? =) I'm asking that just because I love these novels and I'd really like to see them all translated...
(sorry for my bad English, but I come from Italy... xD)

I don't think anyone's working on the earlier volumes at this point. Sukoshi and Hasekura Rei were working on the middle volumes (22 onwards), but I'm not sure how they're going. I'm working on the later novels mainly because the anime covers through to Volume 27 and I wanted to see what happened after that.

thank you for answering me
I have seen the last season to fill the gap in the middle and now I'm starting volume 29...
I agree with you, to know what will happen is so much more interesting.. xD so thank you again for your work!!

Re: Maria-sama ga Miteru by Oyuki Konno
Yeah thank you very much for your hard work NR! *bows* I just read Volumes 29, 30, and 32 and I'm enjoying getting closure for the Touko and Yumi aftermath of season 4. Thanks for still working on these novels for those of us who want to know what happens after season 4, since it seems that season 5 isn't going to happen. Although reading some of the novels you've translated, there are many moments I'd like to see animated. Oh well.
You said earlier in this topic that you started at Volume 29 because the anime covers up to Volume 27. However, once you get the volumes translated that you most want translated, I would like to request that you go back and translate Volume 27. Why? Because while the anime covers Yumi’s Valentine’s date, it doesn’t cover Yoshino or Shimako’s date. And looking at some of the illustrations of that novel, I’m dying to know what’s going on there. If you don’t want to translate it I understand, but do you know of some place that would summarize what happens on Yoshino and Shimako’s dates?
I’d also like to request a translation of Volume 28 because I’d like to know what girl is randomly hugging Kanako-chan. It might also add more context to Touko’s and Kanako’s relationship when they’re in the park together in Volume 30. Or as I requested before, even a summary of what happens would be fantastic.
I'd offer to edit, but I don't want to tweak it in ignorance to the original writing. You see I don't know Japanese, so I don't have the original text to go on, so I don't know if I could edit it in a fashion that would be true to the author's intentions. I could try to edit them if you’d like me to though.
A lot of the errors I find is a missing word here and there in a phrase, or vague antecedents, where you don't know who is saying/thinking what because "she" could refer to another girl or the same girl in the context. I suppose that's what makes the anime useful is you know who is saying what about something/someone at all times.
Anyway, thanks again to you NR, and all the many others who have translated many of the novels for those of us lame people who aren’t bilingual in English and Japanese.

Re: Maria-sama ga Miteru by Oyuki Konno
Thanks for your response RPPuzzle, it's always good to hear that people enjoy what I'm doing. Now that I've finished Volume 30 my plan is to translate Volume 28 and then 31. After that I might do Volume 27, but that's at least six months before I start on it. Season four of the anime did skip a fair bit to fit the Yumi / Touko arc in - personally, I would have liked to see more of Tsutako and Shouko.
As for editing, if there's anything obviously wrong like a misspelling, missing word, etc. go ahead and fix it. Editing for clarity shoud be fine too, although one thing I've noticed is that Konno Oyuki tends to leave the protagonist somewhat ambiguous for the first few sentences of a chapter so I've tried to maintain this. The chapters are usually written from a particular character's point-of-view, so it's always what they're thinking (or what they think someone else is thinking).

Wow, you do really good work Enn_Are, even if this series seems to be not as popular as other series.

Thanks for the compliment Darklor, I try to do my best. Marimite will never be as popular as a lot of other titles, but I'm enjoying it, and as long as that continues I'll keep translating it.
