I found these links on 4chan saying that Infinite Stratos isn't cancelled. That it's just on hiatus. What do you guys think?

According to 4chan, this one says the next volume should be finished by May.

This one says that he wasn't fired and doesn't know why people are starting these rumors.

Is the light novel cancelled? I heard that the author had a falling out with the publishing company. I just want to know if it is true or not.

It's a very strong rumor though, unless we get more info backing it up or proving it wrong, the last notification was to all retailers (Japanese market) from Media Factory that the 8th Volume (supposedly to have been released in April per author on twitter) and any further orders of previous volumes are cancelled by publisher. Removal of most of IS related info on the MF Japanese site kind of gives a strong impression as well. Also rumored was MF was bought/merged with Kodansha. If that's true, then the answer would be closer to having to wait out the business and employee changes before starting up publication and print again.

I really hope this is just a temporary thing (if true) because I really at least want some story and plot closure.

Just to say, the wiki has no hard evidence about the light novel but, here some information reguarding the author. Infinite Stratos author Izuru Yumizuru is now working on Kimi P! with fans on his project website. This information was released on April 16,2012 on animenewsnetwork offical website. Here the link http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... -on-kimi-p. Also I agree with you about the fact that there is a fallout out between Media factory and Izuru Yumizuru. Most likely there some court issue about the light novel series Infinte Startos. Although he claimed everything between him and Media Factory fine, many people wonder what really going on.

Well there was never any offical announcement that he has abandon the Infinite Startos series. There was previsous statments that the next volume is ready but was not published because of the incindent with Media Factory . Most likely there a disagreement with who publish the next novel. Until that resolved, the series with be in a standstill.
