Claire.
Excr wrote:Anyone else bitter at Claire for not giving Kamito his own private space ? She really acts like she actually owns the guy. And to Kamito for just enduring the physical abuse Claire is giving him. Get annoyed dude, tell the girl that you're on the edge from being pissed.

tbh, Claire's chara-type is just too common and annoying. (she reminds me of those heroines who abuse their love interest just because
he was with another woman)

Though the main heroine is bad, I'll still read it for the plot and for Fianna.

I just finished Vol. 2 ~ My opinion of the characters might change as I read the other volumes.

Cheers for our respected translators. I wish you all well.
High-5! I feel exactly the same and my opinion has been the same from the start. Claire is really annoying. Sure she mellows down somewhat (even if she is a mild Louise), I still cannot appreciate the whole "slave" thing. Completely unnecesarry and frankly annoying. Thankfully, every other character is great! The other girls do follow the tropes but that has never been a problem for me. Annoying "master" characters however.. Louise has scarred me for life. Darn you Louise.

That said, major thanks goes to everyone who worked on this. Finding this series only now was a good thing since I have many volumes to read. Thanks again everyone :D
Don't worry bro, You're not the only one annoyed.
Let's just hope that the author realizes how dull and boring Claire's character is.
How far can I struggle when everything I believe for is denied?

Conscience and grace, to the profoundest pit! I dare damnation: to this point I stand, that both worlds I give to negligence, let come what comes; only I'll be revenged most thoroughly..

Well, I don't think that it helps that Kamito sort of agreed to the whole slave thing... I think he did, anyway. He, um, sort of encouraged her to keep going with it and everything.

...

Though since he seems at least somewhat more observant than other protagonists, a small part of me hopes that he's playing her along in order to keep her feelings in a place where he can easily manage and control them while he focuses on his real goals, like finishing up the Blade Dance and getting out from under the Dusk Witch's thumb a bit more. Also, he knows (or -should- know) that most of his harem is homicidal if they catch him in a bad situation, and doing anything more serious than he already has would probably make the entire group go flat-out yandere... I think he enjoys living a bit too much. XD

...

I hope that's the case, anyway. Doubt it, but I hope. XD

@Rednal: I think the ladies are more harmless than you think they are. With a tiny bit of charm and teasing (as showed the example with Claire, on numerous occasions) he'd be able to put them under control. And they'd be more than glad to comply, given their peculiar reading interests.
He also has no reason to escape the Dusk Witch. She doesn't have a hold of him or anything, and her support was vital until now.

@girls: Claire definitely is annoying, being overly stereotypical tsundere, who is exceptionally harsh and jealous while harbouring exceptionally perverted dreams.
Jealousy and lack of trust is a problem with other girls too, seeing as they go ballistic over every single misunderstanding. You would think he gained a bit of trust after not doing anything for so long...
But still, sword girls are best. Especially Est with bunny ears that move~

I'm afraid it might be behind the usual release schedule. There's no news of it yet. It's not in the list of books selling on 24/5. http://www.mediafactory.co.jp/bunkoj/schedule/index

There's translation accuracy to think about, and the number of tl-ers working on that series.

Also, you never know, the japanese may LOVE Claire's personality. Her popularity among our community does not reflect her popularity in Japan.
I mean, look at DAL. Kurumi actually won the popularity rolls. Being a dominating type of heroine may have helped...

And about Greyworth, Kamito is kind of being played around by her so...I really have no idea how the author wants to roll things out.

Does anyone think there's a problem with Volume 8's title of "The Night Before the Decisive Battle"?

決戦 also means final round, which is what the the Cross Fire stage is, rather than a single battle.

If you consider what happens the next day, the Cross Fire starts and all you get are a bunch of minor battles, all of them hardly decisive.

It is not until the first night of Cross Fire when a major battle takes place.

I guess that's true. Is it all right if I change it to "Final" or is it suppose to be "Finals"?

I personally prefer 'Final Round', instead of 'Final' or 'Finals' because they have a tendency to make people think of something else (especially 'finals' with regards to final exams, lol)

^Clearly you've never heard of "Grand Finals" or "Winners' Finals" or "Losers' Finals" before.

I already registered on Firebird's Mondaiji page. With the amount of people asking for details, I suppose this needs to become another blog post.

Oh and while you do Mondaiji, please agree on names and terminology used with the other 2 TLs now since you're just starting to translate.

I noticed you just put Names and Terminology Guidelines while I was writing this  Hopefully you and the rest won't forget to abide to it :P
