Hi, just a quick question to do with consistency sake. In volume 1 and 2, I noticed that knee socks nude was used, however in volume 3 naked knee-socks was used instead. Well I don't want to complain since this translation is quite good, but in my opinion changing spirit to elemental is a mistake. Primo: no matter how you look at it seirei is definitely translated as (holy) spirit/ghost, if author would mean elemental he would use yousono or gensono (of course im no expert but thats what my dictionary says;) ). And another matter is that in most rpg systems elemental magic consist only of fire, water, air and earth, but here we have holy/light and darkness too and they're considered different system from 4 elements (or 5 if you prefer Chinese ones).

Your dictionary is using the wrong form of "elemental". 精霊 can easily mean "elemental", as in the fantasy creature. All an elemental is is a spirit of something in the first place, usually nature related but that depends on how the fantasy work in question defines it. So having light, darkness, and swords be part of the scheme, while unusual, is up to the author. :I would say so. She's timid and the mother was apparently worried about her when she was introduced. If you add that to Kyousuke's concerns about their daughter growing up like her mother... Then there's the fact that Tamura is clearly a very good cook from the start, most likely ruling her out. The worrying also makes Tamura a less likely candidate—presumably they've known Tamura for some time and wouldn't be concerned.

Well, this is kinda great as this trains our creativity in creating the ending we desired in our mind :P The setting of the story is based on modern days, so let's not discuss further about the "10 years later" that could occur in the story as all of us do not know what will exactly happen in 10 years time from now on (I mean our real world's time). Who knows maybe after 7 or 8 years the society might have come to accept intimate brother-sister relationship as normal couple's relationship? Not having the JA version, I can't say for certain which is correct, but changing "father and mother" to "parents" changes the meaning. The former would indicate a specific reference to their ''own'' parents, whereas the later is a reference to parents in general. Capitalization for terms such as "mommy" or "father", etc., would also probably follow an "if it's a substitute for a proper noun, capitalize" designation. E.g., "my mommy will give me sweets" vs. "Mommy will give me sweets".

I'd also posit that changing "twenties of youth" to "years of youth" is akin to referring to the "terrible twos" as simply "terrible years". I don't have the JA, but the zh_CN TL appears to be:
“为什么要做这种事啊，我才二十几岁啊，青春活力的二十几岁哟。”
or, roughly
"Why did [you] have to do that? I'm just twenty-something years old! [A] (young and vigorous)/youthful twenty-something years old!"

Choice of punctuation is my own based on ... I guess you could call them "gobi"? I don't know what they'd actually be called for zh_CN. I haven't used it in long enough that I honestly don't remember what all of the gobi mean in zh_CN or how they should be converted to EN punctuation. Not that it's particularly relevant to the point at hand, in any case.

I've updated the Terminology Page and did a pretty big addition to it, and a lot of the names aren't reflected in whatever crap I uploaded. I'm planning on going through Volume 1 and 3 to make the appropriate changes. I'll be looking at the raws for anything I feel has an odd flow. Since I can't easily read the raws, I will go on what I think sounds out of place rather than what may be mistranslated. I'll be updating the wiki and the pdf's, probably in a week or two, all in one go. I'll give a quick look over what has been updated by the users of the wiki before I do that, but whatever I put up later may end up ignoring/changes whatever people decide to change. I'll apologize in advance for that.

I'm doing this because I need a break from going through the raws, since it takes too long to read through with my lovely new dictionaries (I have a new pocket and desktop dictionary and an old pocket one I thought I lost). I am also doing this because, while it may be a crap machine translation, I would like to polish it up so people can enjoy the novel in as close a representation of the original that I can (actually, screw you people. I don't care what you read. I'm doing this because ''I'' want to read a story as accurately as it can be. I just happen to be willing to upload it :P ). After that, I probably will not bother to touch Volumes 1 or 3 ever again on the wiki. I'm also letting people know because they can point out any place they find especially awkward. I'm actually quite impressed with this machine translation though I can see mistakes it's more than just legible I'm actually enjoying the more formal seeming text structure it's very interesting anyway volume 6 has been out for a bit now any plans to translate it now or are you going to wait for more material?

All those previous volumes were done by self (i.e TLr, having knowledge of the language) using other software as a 'secondary' help. ( That is the only reason why a machine translated script has been allowed here. ) As such, using a translation software directly will give you 'err-ingish'. In case you had trouble understanding the post above, the trouble is essentially as follows. Volumes 1-5 were "translated" by EnigmaticAxiom via a process of editing machine translated text. That is why they are previews, i.e. because they were never manually translated by a human being. Nonetheless, EnigmaticAxiom, being a native English speaker, was able to edit the text so that it flows rather well in English, although the accuracy of the translation itself remains somewhat of an open question. When it comes to volume 6, however, the translations are a work of an actual person; the chapters you are referring to in particular having been done by setsuna. Unfortunately, I believe neither English nor Japanese are a language of any great fluency for him, but he ''is'' the only translator committed to the task. I've updated the Terminology Page and did a pretty big addition to it, and a lot of the names aren't reflected in whatever crap I uploaded. I'm planning on going through Volume 1 and 3 to make the appropriate changes. I'll be looking at the raws for anything I feel has an odd flow. Since I can't easily read the raws, I will go on what I think sounds out of place rather than what may be mistranslated. I'll be updating the wiki and the pdf's, probably in a week or two, all in one go. I'll give a quick look over what has been updated by the users of the wiki before I do that, but whatever I put up later may end up ignoring/changes whatever people decide to change. I'll apologize in advance for that.

I'm doing this because I need a break from going through the raws, since it takes too long to read through with my lovely new dictionaries (I have a new pocket and desktop dictionary and an old pocket one I thought I lost). I am also doing this because, while it may be a crap machine translation, I would like to polish it up so people can enjoy the novel in as close a representation of the original that I can (actually, screw you people. I don't care what you read. I'm doing this because ''I'' want to read a story as accurately as it can be. I just happen to be willing to upload it :P ). After that, I probably will not bother to touch Volumes 1 or 3 ever again on the wiki. I'm also letting people know because they can point out any place they find especially awkward. well, I love translating oreimo for a variety of reasons. however I've no plans to dedicate myself to this, simply because of time. Itsuten is right now my top priority followed by Daiden and Kagami's works are darn easy to translate and I'm used to it already, so I can get more done (i'm also hooked to Itsuten right now, it's hmm intriguing). I might finish the remaining of oreimo v4 c3 one day though. Is volume 4 and 5 fully translated? I was wondering because it seems Nano didn't finish volume 4 so i was curious if BT finished it up. Also another detail, for pages that are incomplete i have seen some pages actually say they are incomplete at the top with the percentage of progress and such, but others that clearly aren't done yet don't have that...thus my confusion. Well if anyone could clarify that status of volume 4 and 5 and if they are indeed fully completed or not that would be great. Oh ya one more thing i almost forgot, How is the full text version made? I once asked if a version was completed and the response i got felt like a scolding since it seems to make a completed translation a full text appears to be an easy thing yet I'm oblivious on how to make it full text and to top it off i don't even know if the work is truly completed.
