I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. In addition, some lines in the web novels were toned down in the light novels. (And there's more fanservice in the light novels.)

Uh, probably some far distant time in the future. (read: never) The Afterwords and the Late Great Favorite bear no impact on the story itself. They are merely the author's thoughts as each novel comes to a close. Hence why their priority is very, very low.

Simply put, because someone signed up to do Chapter X before I did. Translators work at different speeds, so some chapters may come out ahead of the others. Everyone works at their own pace, so give them some time.

If I got a dollar every time someone asked me this, I would be able to do this for a living. Click on the User Page tab on the top left corner and you will find my progression on the latest chapter as well as a ''rough'' estimate on when the chapter will be complete. And, no, it has been scientifically proven that asking me to work faster/harder does not improve translation speed. I am working off of PST in California, so do take that into account when looking for the new chapter on my update days.

Until otherwise stated, yes. Volume 5 may get delayed though, since it is a collection of side stories rather than advancing the main plot. We'll see what happens after the Nine Schools Competition.

Double 7 is in Dengeki Bunko or whatever that magazine is. So far, the first 2 segments (I guess chapters 0-6) have been released, and it is 2nd year as you say. It's an unedited portion and "spoiler free," so it's more akin to the web novels. Awesome job Dreyakis, its getting exciting with each chapter release. however, in my personal opinion, i'm not that hyped about the story spanning over two volumes. In the previous arcs i felt the transition to the next volume didn't go over so well, hell i'm still lamenting about the enrollment arc. that being said the author did improve with the nine-schools arc. maybe the author will surprise us this time. great story anyways. share your thoughts. I had the feeling that he took his time with this chapter. But that is kinda good, because sometimes i get the bad feeling that he works to much for us and even then he is still so fast that you can by no means complain (still one of the fastest translators I seen till now) (not that we have a right to complain anyway).

Indeed. It's difficult not to appreciate just how fast and capable both Drey and zzhk are. Even given a masterful command of both English and Chinese, there's a lot of cross-referencing that has to happen when you're not translating straight from the Japanese text. The fact that they're both efficient ''and'' consistent is just staggering. <br />

I think you should add Js06 to the list of one man army translators as well. Sure, he takes longer when translating other LNs, but when a new To Aru Majutsu no Index volume comes out, he can finish the LN in about a week or so with daily updates. I'd have to say no matter what Drey chooses to do, he'll be somewhat screwed over. If he puts an ETA, fewer people will probably harass him about when he'll be finished, but if he's "late" for this "deadline," little pissants will show up again; however, if he decides to keep the ETA omitted, he'll probably just have all the other little peons messaging him or posting on this user talk about when the next chapter will be finished. To re-iterate the registration procedure:

*You are required to register which chapters you wish to work on. One portion of text per translator, please.

*Registration is on a "First Come, First Served" basis. Please register your intended chapters on the project's registration page.

*Maximum number of translators per volume is two, unless the volume is a collection of smaller stories. Another way to interpret this is no more than two translators should be working on the same "story arc".

*Translators may only register for portions of one volume at a time within each project. This is to prevent "biting off more than you can chew".

*The Registration page is not a binding contract, and translators are encouraged to negotiate between themselves which portions to register for.

*Anonymous Translated Contributions are required to inform [[User:Thelastguardian|thelastguardian]] and the designated Project Supervisor of the intend Chapters as shown on the corresponding Registration page before any major contribution.

*Portions that are not updated for a significant time may be taken over by another translator after getting permission from the Project Supervisor. The new translator is encouraged to start over to maintain consistency, but the old translation will not be deleted at least until the new translation is finished (and probably not for some time after that).

If you upload just the text in other language then chrome can translate it so if you have the text then upload it please

I am unsure whether I understand the last sentence but if you mean that I should upload the book unto my computer and use a program to do the bulk of the translation, aside from the fact that I believe uploading copyrighted material is illegal, I do not have the technological capacity to do that, so I'm afraid that my process will remain read phrase, doublecheck words I'm unsure of, translate into english and then type my rough translation(and it is rough, the complexity of the task really eats away at my punctuation skills and for speed's sake I often can't spend the time to get a sentence just right, so if you want to help please edit). The process is slow but, with practice I will get faster. -Sashiko

Don't worry too much about punctuation. We can cover that for you based on the context of the text, as long as we can tell where the sentences start and end. I try to avoid changing the actual words as much as possible. You should also ignore the person telling you to have the browser translate it -- pretty sure BT staff does not like that just off the legal issues alone.
