Hello, you've added a lot of preview pages in a very short period of time by copying the text from external sources. Just checking, but did you ask for permission to copy the text into BT from the people who posted it at those external links? Also, it would also be appropriate to ask the BT project manager and/or supervisor if they are ok with those new preview pages being made. Every single one I've posted so far comes from Bakahou, who has commented before publicly that he does not mind (he's a bit too dead to approach). Aside from him, Yoraikun, Epithetic, TheDefend, Hatoken, and Kookie have also given their okay. Anontranslator has yet to respond.

The reason I changed my editing style is because I was talking to my old roomate, who's a translator for a few different novels and like ten manga, and he said that in general it was better to go all out and change the format to full-on paragraph. For me personally, I decided to edit because all the excessively superfluous interjections and such that come with vanilla translating and leaving it in the Japanese sentence format both take up needless space and distract/confuse the issue for casual readers. I know full well the difference between a web novel and a light novel i just tend to use LN to cover both for the sake of simplicity. And in 289 I was trying to make it sound closer to what someone would actually say in the context of the conversation. No one would say "It's a promise with me!" when he hadn't even made the promise in the first place. Sometimes things like that can be snuck in with the arguement that it's Raphtalia's cutesy side but in that particular instance even that doesn't make sense, at least to me. I have a lot of free time, so I was hoping to use it in a way that will encourage your average joe to join the world of otakuness, because if they look at the chapters as they are they'll barely read for more than ten seconds before deciding to do something else.
These are my first attempts at being an editor, but on the other site I started to edit for, the translator leaving things like that was more a case of them being lay rather than having a preference.

Dear Subsinexus,

Shifting the contents of the external links to a native B-T page is a delicate matter, due to new baka-Tsuki legislation (2015), any translation on baka-tsuki is subjected to a machine translation evaluation by a senior Baka-Tsuki translator. If suspected of using machine assistance and fails the requirement, it will be removed from the wiki.

So in technicality, it is allowed, the last time I checked in regards to the pastebin source, I could not in good conscious say that they meet the non-MTL requirements.

Therefore I encourage the translations to be externally linked and labelled as previews.

However I have yet to evaluate the scripts by the current two translators.

However I have read the kookie does admit to using a little of machine assistance, if she is honest, should be okay.
However I'm not sure about the other and I therefore advise you to be cautious and refrain from doing so, as any Baka-Tsuki staff can initiate the MTL legislation and would put all translations hosted on Baka-Tsuki to an MTL evaluation.

There's a misunderstanding somewhere here, because I believe Onizuka-gto discouraged adding the text, as you've continued to do, and advised leaving it as external links (the current/previous method). Your reply on his talk page implies it is okay as long as a "preview" tag is applied, but I do not believe that is the case. All text uploaded should satisfy the MTL standards oni was referring to, and after it does, then it can stay if it has the correct MTL tag (a "preview" tag does not make it exempt). Actually, I think the external links were a bit of a grey area already. Therefore I suggest you stop transferring until this can be clarified. I believe it's your misunderstanding this time. Madan no Ou, Mushoku Tensei, and multiple other projects contain confirmed machine translation 'previews' next to the side of the chapters. If you're that worried about it, I could try copying what Madan no Ou does - add a notice at the top of the preview page declaring it a machine translation. Visit one of its preview pages to see what I mean. However, I doubt that's necessary.

Madan, Mushoku Tensei, and most other projects were done before the MTL guidelines were revised/created, and they therefore don't follow them. You can read the guidelines [[Baka-Tsuki:Machine_Translation_Guidelines|here]], which I believe suggests using "MTL" rather than "preview" (but I don't personally care about the template at the top, or the page naming really). Un, I'm pretty sure that those guidelines are referring to the process which must be undergone if you want to put a machine-translated chapter into a 'main' chapter page. The reason I think so is the last rule:

Any chapter done by a machine can be overwritten by a human translator.
Unless it's a translator guess-lating and inventing stuff out of blue, a human translator who shows the ability and the effort can overwrite the machine translation script with his own work.

In any case - I will soon be busy with other stuff, and can only take time now to do what I wish. So - unless Onizuka-san puts his foot down, I shall finish this shifting, and if it gets deleted later, I'll be too busy with other stuff by then to care.

Well, given how loosely BT is organized, I would say the difference between the two is somewhat blurred. I do have additional user rights on the wiki (deleting pages, blocking users) and moderating the forums, but I probably wouldn't be called an "admin." If you're wondering why I was the one who originally contacted you, it is because I am an active user (who spends time monitoring new changes), your changes were very visible, and transferring in external pages without permission is something new users do now and again. Additionally, with regards to my followup comment(s), I participated somewhat in the admin discussions that led up to the current MTL guidelines, so I'm more interested in clarifying those going forward rather than with what happens to this particular project. If you participated in the creation of that MTL page, you must have a good idea of the rules. Well getting new hardware for a laptop is almost a no go. Replacing hardware only works in a desktop pc. but that doent matter right now.

There's not a SINGLE missing chapter of mushoku tensei. The entire series is fully translated. I think this is because you're reading this from a tablet, using the app. Look at the baka-tsuki website on a computer, or using an internet browser, and you'll get it.

Editing done. Every single 'preview' chapter should now appear in the baka-tsuki app. Make sure to use the 'update now' option to make my updates show up.

A preview chapter is basically a chapter translated by a lower-level translator. Not as good, but since people are editing, their quality is very high. I realized fitts true identity right after she wanted to call him Rud... How many chantless, same age persons are there that know Rudeus and call out to him as soon as they see him? I was confused at the white hair at first but figured for myself that she changed her hair color in some way as she received a lot of resentment for that original hair color. And thanks for the second season warning in regards to UBW, a cliffhanger would be bad there are a lot of other finished animes I want to watch. You should try reading the Alcatraz books from Brandon Sanderson. I guess you will find yourself in there and they are super hilarious. Made me laugh out loud in the break room in one of my former employers. Another one who heard me laughing one time too often smashed down his newspaper on the table, everyone gazes upon him, he stands up and says: "What am I doing wrong? Every time I read the newspaper I just get sad!". It was awesome I don't think I will ever forget that moment. So fun. Books are great.

My reading pace for mushoku tensei slowed down a lot as I was slowly but surely approaching the end of it. I am struggling against the inevitable. Oh well. I started watching Bakemonogatari and for some reason its really captivating.

Hey, its Andrey again here. I wanted to speak about editing Tate no Yuusha. Thanks for reading the chapter I mentioned too. I'll take it as proof of your unofficial leadership of this project. Now then, you mentioned that the tense in my editing was in the past tense. In my dozen or so years of experience as a book-worm, all the books I read followed the same pattern. This also includes some of the ones here, such as SAO and Mahouka. For me, dialogue/thoughts were always in present tense, and the actions were in past tense. I had also noticed that this was the "default" case in the guidelines. Here is the link:

Since SAO and Mahouka followed the same system, I take it that 'present tense' isn't the default in Japanese. In American English, it is plain weird (in my opinion). Thus, wouldn't it be better to officially switch over to the English system?

I appreciate the quick reply. Honestly. It is true though, that if we re-edit the story, that would require a tremendous amount of effort. And that wouldn't just include me. Good point there. At this point, I can only say that I will think about it. As for the present tense being the authors personal style of writing, well, I can clearly see it, but only part of the time. In my unproffessional opinion, the author commonly switches between narration and Naofumi's thoughts, which complicates things. Would you be able to confirm this present tense usage? Also, these translators, would you conveniently just happen to have their contact information? ...Lastly, would these translators be the only ones that I need to ask? Does the original author not need to give us his permission?

I just went ahead and translated the rest of the Japanese names of the chapters. I noticed a few chapters having different ordering comparing the the Web novel. The current chapter 16 should be the 19th chapter from the web novel since, the naming make sense with the chapter's contents (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible). But the problem here lies in 'Black Headed Dog' chapter's contents (according to the web novel's version), which will be very weird without reading chapter 17-19 (preparation, armor, and hourglass) first. Although since the Light novel's version is different from the web novel's one, the contents might be slightly different(but both should be talking about Raphtaria's memory). With that said, what do you guys suggest we should do about this chapter('black headed dog')? Should I just translate according to the webnovel's flow, meaning: re-arranging 'Black Headed Dog' to ch 19?
 There is also chapter 20, 'sword', I don't remember reading any of the web novel's chapter that was close or similarly named around the time line of volume one ( before Wave 1 and a day or two after ). Should we just skip this chapter for now?

- likewise, Taniko(Wyndia) not originally meant to be whip hero. It supposed to be Rato's, but she use Wyndia as shield when the weapon approach her, thus it end up as Wyndia's 
- who the heck is Kagami?(u probably meant Glass, the fan hero, though I dunno how u end up with that name instead...) 
- why クズ not included as one of king alternate name?(even history book in 2nd to last chapter of main tale use that name instead) 
- why ビッチ and アバズレ in 1st princess page translate as same?(I know it literally mean same, but at least use different word for variation... Like b*tch and wh*re instead just b*tch) 
- common error of エアスト translated as instant everywhere 
- Motoyasu's curse series spear is supposed to be lust-envy spear, instead just envy spear 
- still in Motoyasu's, Buryunakku is supposed to be Brionac 
- every hero char(4 main + 7 star + 1 n additional 8) have 0の(weapon name) and 0xの(weapon name)... As these are only weapon that allow to damage final enemy(I mention this due Naofumi page include 0の盾 in his skill list) 
- why アトラ read as alta?(it's either Atla or Atra) 
- why there are only 1 Gaerion page? There at least 2(3 if gaiden included) different Gaerion that exists in story(Gaerion(parent of Wyndia), (Gaerion(Pet of Naofumi also pet of Wyndia(male)), and Gaerion(in gaiden story, pet of Naofumi and little sister of Wyndia(female))

Hi, regarding Vol 1 chapter 10 お子様ランチ and Vol 1 side story 2 お子様ランチの旗, I am not sure whether did the publisher or author just put up one of the main chapters as a side story. Light novels are physical novels that got published by publishers, they usually have illustrations. As a measure of courtesy. The initial Translator had done 75% of the work, with the rest being stalled by real life. Since he didnt indicate that he abandon it, I want to leave him to finish it. If somebody post a c20 link up there, it will be like a slap to the face of the working TL. It will be easy to lose motivation to keep working. As an editor I have NO objection to squeeze every last effort from translators, but by the same token editors should be careful of their feelings and motivations.

Gaelion is the name of Tanikos dad, after deaf eating the wrath dragon in a previous chapter he possessed Gaelion smaller so it is basically 2 souls in one body that will fuse consciousness as he matures.

---Hey, ladies and gents, I am a new guy here, and I have a selfish request. I've read the LN up to Chapter 37, and it's gotten fairly bad. There are a lot of minor mistakes past Chapter 31, and I can fix those with a smile. However, the story is visibly deteriorating. (I'm a pretty mellow fellow, and can read bad books without complaint, but this is a step worse.) It's not a book. "Eh?" Well, the thing is that the surroundings/location are invisibly changing at a rather frightening pace. "Whatever do you mean by that?" Well, here is an example:

We headed to the weaver with the threads.
Weaver: "This is some unusual material, I could do a lot with this. Go to the dressing room and measure your size. I should be able to complete the dress tonight. You can pick it up later."
---And another:
"Th-this is so fast..."
"It's more important to get your mother to drink that medicine right. Don't drop it."
"Ye-yes!"
The man went into his house. I followed after him inside. I still hadn't gotten my payment after all.
Coming up to it, it was a regular rural commoner house.

---As you can see, the actions are described, but the surroundings change with little to no notice. (The guy who got a ride mysteriously warped from the road, to the from of his house.) It almost seems as if this whole story came from a manga. All the conversations are there, as well as the actions. But, the surroundings that are portrayed in the pictures are left out. I want to change this, but that means adding sentences, or at least sentence fragments. It will be a noticeable change, but also (in my opinion) a welcome one. (Otherwise, it is a manga without the pictures. Even the speakers are labeled, as if the picture is supposed to be there.) So, what say you to this proposition? Is it okay to mess with the translation, or should it be left as is?

Just so you know in advance, I'm not actually involved in this project, but let me clarify a few things~
1. If you're reading from BT, this is a translation of a web novel, not a light novel. The web novel which is available to read for free online does not go through a professional editing process / refinement like the light novel does, so it's more like a draft. This will lead to lower quality in the text itself in many cases. Depending on the Author's literary skill, it could still read very well, but as a rule of thumb it'll be the inferior of the two.
2. BT hosts translations. Once you add "content" to a translation, it's no longer a translation. Editing a translation is focused on readability / flow of words, at most taking the liberty of changing specific terms / references to fit the language audience it's pointed towards. So generally adding scenery would not be okay.

1. The web novel, what is it? By draft, do you perchance mean that this story is the work of someone's writing for fun? I cannot read Japanese, so I don't know what the source is like. If the translation we get is direct, it is very odd. Now that I've read farther into the novel, I have seen the type of location teleportation mentioned above in a much larger magnitude. It is especially obvious in the fight with Glass in chapters 52 and 53. The translation seems to be... partial. At times, its almost as if its a summary, and not a story. Once again, I do not know if the real author writes in such a fashion or not. To me, it seems like the wording was simply taken from a manga, translated, and posted here. Can anyone verify if the real Japanese version is like this? Is the original a book or a manga?
2. I agree with you in regards with translations. This story is not mine, and I have no right to indiscriminately change it. What I wish for, is a well edited version of what we have so far. Not just in terms of punctuation and simple grammar changes but, as you put it, a "flow of words." I don't aim to change the story or to add nonexistent details. I wish to polish this 'gem' that I have found, and make it beautiful. (I say this after reading SAO and Mahouka. Were they professionally edited?)
Oh, and to see what I mean by all this talk, please take a look at Chapter 79. Please, please, give me a reply. I want to know if I should edit this story or not. I don't want to put a lot of effort into it if it will not be appreciated.

Yeah. I did the first to chapters and chapter 289 before I found the rules/guidelines for editing. For some reason they haven't reverted the changes I made, which were pretty freaking extensive. You're supposed to get permission from the Project Supervisor (you can find that on the main shield hero page) and then post your proposed changes for the other editors to check, but I haven't figured those out yet. And theProject Supervisor for Shield Hero, Onizuka-GTO, doesn't seem to be very active. I've been waiting for a day or two for him to reply and he hasn't done it yet. If you want to know the ins and outs of the editing, I suggest you study the commands that the other editors use and what they do as you make your changes. That's how I've learned so far. Somewhere there's a list of commands and what they do but it's hard to find so I don't use it that often. Minor changes shouldn't get reverted unless they change the meaning of the sentence or story, in which case they aren't considered minor changes anymore. Good Luck.

Yes, I'm editing Shield Hero. Go ahead and edit the preview chapters... I don't know why they're preview chapters they're pretty much as ready to go as the ones that are officially published. I'm totally cool with answering any and all questions you have as long as I know the answer, communication on this site seems to be pretty weak so I try to encourage it. Everyone has their preferences, but that should be fine so long as you make sure anyone new can understand what "oyajii-san" means by putting a link and a note in. example: (in the text) "thanks oyajii-san< r e f > oyajii is a Japanese term used to address someone significantly older than oneself < / r e f >."

If you want to know 'why previews?', just read my talk page. Even with just previews, my added chapters were nearly deleted.

As for why your edits haven't been touched - none of us are omnipotent gods. We don't look over every single edit history of every single chapter every single day. And none of us have access to the page that lists all the changes for the site.

While being guided by the soldiers, we saw luxurious tables crowded throughout the dining hall.

Naofumi: “?”

While I was looking puzzled, the queen muttered about something being deplorable.

It seemed that Bitch and Trash proposed to carry a dish from the kitchen especially for me.

They had reflected on their actions. Therefore, they wanted to bring me a dish as a sign of atonement.

This information was then immediately reported to the queen.

In the hallway, the two of them snatched a pair of dishes by force, and where now bringing them to me.

This happened while the queen was in the hall, organizing the dinner.

I heard these circumstances in advance, from the shadows who were supervising them.

Queen: “It is an admirable attitude to carry the food.” She said to them.

Both of them had cold sweat running down their back as they tried to clumsily put the food before me.

However, the queen then ordered the nearby soldiers to arrest them.

When caught, their reaction were as follows.

Trash: “Wh-What are you doing!?”

Bitch: “I did not do anything!”

They were protesting while being arrested.

Queen: “Yes, I pray you did nothing too. Now then, both of you…… eat a mouthful of the food you tried to serve Iwatani-sama.”

Trash: “Such an impolite thing will not be done!”

Bitch: “I didn't do anything!”

Their pitiful selves repeat an excuse while resisting.

Queen: “Yes, I believe you. So eat.”

Trash: “That would be too rude to the Shield!”

Bitch: “That’s right! Something that has already been eaten should not be served!”

Queen: “That’s alright. Just take a bit with some clean tableware.”

Trash: “Certainly not!”

Bitch: “Disgusting!”

Queen: “Eat it!”

The soldiers then force-fed the two of them the dishes that they carried.

After doing so, they were both led away from the dining hall.

A little later, I asked the Queen:

Naofumi: “So, what has happened to them?”

Queen: “Trash went to the toilet, and Bitch was carried to the hospital.”

'Are they retarded?'

It appeared that Trash used a laxative, and Bitch used a poison.

'I should have been fine thanks to my poison resistance, but I don’t exactly have a hobby of consuming poison.'

However, these guys clearly aren’t reflecting on their actions.

It would have been an excellent assassination. But, their execution leaves much to be desired.

'Those guys didn’t learn their lesson…… they don’t deserve any praise for their tenacity.'

Naofumi: “They are going to be punished for this, right?”

Queen: “Naturally. I’ll give both Trash and Bitch a painful experience for every day, until they repent.”

Naofumi: “Ahuh……”

Queen: “It was good that they were caught so early. There was a slim chance that Iwatani-sama might have actually taken some damage.”

Naofumi: “I guess……”

It would be fine to be angry here, so let’s try to evaluate the queen’s enthusiasm in punishing them.

Naofumi: “Observe them closely. If they remain unharmed, I will withdraw my agreement.

Queen: “Of course. As originally planned, the details of their punishments are to be supervised, and then reported to Iwatani-sama. These reports will happen

periodically, until they stop misbehaving.”

Naofumi: “Well……That’s obvious.”

The queen also adds that there is always a shadow watching both Bitch and Trash.

So if they do something bad, then it will be immediately reported.

'So, each time Trash and Bitch do anything, I can choose to reward or torment.'

'They can even show me what’s happening. This sounds very pleasant.'

Queen: “Yes. So please think about the extent of their punishment. They will surely do something again. Since all of the attempts will be prevented, I will punish

them accordingly, since Iwatani-sama's presence is necessary to help Melromarc.

Naofumi: “……I understand.”

The queen then faces all the visitors that have gathered, and declares grandly:

Queen: “I, Mirelia Q Melromarc, would like to thank everyone here for participating in this event. Everybody, please enjoy the feast and have fun!”

The participants who gathered in the hall cheered.

My reason for participating in this event this time is completely different from the last.

Last time, I participated just for the money.

Firo’s eyes shine at the amount of food put on display.

This party seems to be a restaurant style buffet.

We were guided to our designated table with our plates full.

Incidentally, I look over at Raphtalia.

“Wh-What is it?” Raphtalia spoke bashfully while I stared at her.

Naofumi: “Is that amount of food even enough? Go get more when you’re done .”

Raphtalia: “I don't eat so much anymore!”

Naofumi: “……It’s bad for your health. Even during forced marching, replenishing your body’s nutrients is important.”

Raphtalia: “……Haah……” Raphtalia sighs deeply.

'Did I say something wrong?'

Raphtalia: “Uhm……Naofumi-sama, what kind of girls do you prefer?”

Just when I was about to speak-

Some soldiers who realized the situation rush to stop Motoyasu.

I just went ahead and translated the rest of the Japanese names of the chapters. I noticed a few chapters having different ordering comparing the the Web novel. The current chapter 16 should be the 19th chapter from the web novel since, the naming make sense with the chapter's contents (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible). But the problem here lies in 'Black Headed Dog' chapter's contents (according to the web novel's version), which will be very weird without reading chapter 17-19 (preparation, armor, and hourglass) first. Although since the Light novel's version is different from the web novel's one, the contents might be slightly different(but both should be talking about Raphtaria's memory). With that said, what do you guys suggest we should do about this chapter('black headed dog')? Should I just translate according to the webnovel's flow, meaning: re-arranging 'Black Headed Dog' to ch 19?
 There is also chapter 20, 'sword', I don't remember reading any of the web novel's chapter that was close or similarly named around the time line of volume one ( before Wave 1 and a day or two after ). Should we just skip this chapter for now?

But I can tell that chapter 10 お子様ランチ is based on web novel's お子様ランチの旗 and side story 2 お子様ランチの旗 is based on web novel's 旗、再び. Or Maybe you want to wait until volume 7 is up, then we do the side story which we can put a note there saying "Unable to finish the volume due to repetitive chapter names with unknown story content". Light novels are physical novels that got published by publishers, they usually have illustrations. As a measure of courtesy. The initial Translator had done 75% of the work, with the rest being stalled by real life. Since he didnt indicate that he abandon it, I want to leave him to finish it. If somebody post a c20 link up there, it will be like a slap to the face of the working TL. It will be easy to lose motivation to keep working. As an editor I have NO objection to squeeze every last effort from translators, but by the same token editors should be careful of their feelings and motivations.

Gaelion is the name of Tanikos dad, after deaf eating the wrath dragon in a previous chapter he possessed Gaelion smaller so it is basically 2 souls in one body that will fuse consciousness as he matures.

There are a lot of minor mistakes past Chapter 31, and I can fix those with a smile. However, the story is visibly deteriorating. (I'm a pretty mellow fellow, and can read bad books without complaint, but this is a step worse.) It's not a book. "Eh?" Well, the thing is that the surroundings/location are invisibly changing at a rather frightening pace. "Whatever do you mean by that?" Well, here is an example:

We headed to the weaver with the threads.
Weaver: "This is some unusual material, I could do a lot with this. Go to the dressing room and measure your size. I should be able to complete the dress tonight. You can pick it up later."
---And another:
"Th-this is so fast..."
"It's more important to get your mother to drink that medicine right. Don't drop it."
"Ye-yes!"
The man went into his house. I followed after him inside. I still hadn't gotten my payment after all.
Coming up to it, it was a regular rural commoner house.

---As you can see, the actions are described, but the surroundings change with little to no notice. (The guy who got a ride mysteriously warped from the road, to the from of his house.) It almost seems as if this whole story came from a manga. All the conversations are there, as well as the actions. But, the surroundings that are portrayed in the pictures are left out. I want to change this, but that means adding sentences, or at least sentence fragments. It will be a noticeable change, but also (in my opinion) a welcome one. So, what say you to this proposition? Is it okay to mess with the translation, or should it be left as is?

I just went ahead and translated the rest of the Japanese names of the chapters. I noticed a few chapters having different ordering comparing the the Web novel. The current chapter 16 should be the 19th chapter from the web novel since, the naming make sense with the chapter's contents (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible). But the problem here lies in 'Black Headed Dog' chapter's contents (according to the web novel's version), which will be very weird without reading chapter 17-19 (preparation, armor, and hourglass) first. Although since the Light novel's version is different from the web novel's one, the contents might be slightly different(but both should be talking about Raphtaria's memory). With that said, what do you guys suggest we should do about this chapter('black headed dog')? Should I just translate according to the webnovel's flow, meaning: re-arranging 'Black Headed Dog' to ch 19?
 There is also chapter 20, 'sword', I don't remember reading any of the web novel's chapter that was close or similarly named around the time line of volume one ( before Wave 1 and a day or two after ). Should we just skip this chapter for now?

Hi, regarding Vol 1 chapter 10 お子様ランチ and Vol 1 side story 2 お子様ランチの旗, I am not sure whether did the publisher or author just put up one of the main chapters as a side story. But I can tell that chapter 10 お子様ランチ is based on web novel's お子様ランチの旗 and side story 2 お子様ランチの旗 is based on web novel's 旗、再び. Or Maybe you want to wait until volume 7 is up, then we do the side story which we can put a note there saying "Unable to finish the volume due to repetitive chapter names with unknown story content". Thanks for translating, but I want to ask about what kind of differences are there between the light novel and the web novl version? Is it something like SAO or Mahouka that first started as a web novel?

Light novels are physical novels that got published by publishers, they usually have illustrations. While Web novels are basically free on the authors' respective websites for those web novels, they don't usually have illustration and the chapters might not be nicely divided into sections (A.K.A arc or volume) comparing to the Light novels, which is the case for Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (there's no arc or volume or even chapter number on the web novel version of tate no yuusha no nariagari). - [[User:Alpaca|Alpaca]] ([[User talk:Alpaca|talk]]) 02:38, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

As a measure of courtesy. The initial Translator had done 75% of the work, with the rest being stalled by real life. Since he didnt indicate that he abandon it, I want to leave him to finish it. If somebody post a c20 link up there, it will be like a slap to the face of the working TL. It will be easy to lose motivation to keep working. As an editor I have NO objection to squeeze every last effort from translators, but by the same token editors should be careful of their feelings and motivations.

Gaelion is the name of Tanikos dad, after deaf eating the wrath dragon in a previous chapter he possessed Gaelion smaller so it is basically 2 souls in one body that will fuse consciousness as he matures.

---Hey, ladies and gents, I am a new guy here, and I have a selfish request. I've read the LN up to Chapter 37, and it's gotten fairly bad. There are a lot of minor mistakes past Chapter 31, and I can fix those with a smile. However, the story is visibly deteriorating. (I'm a pretty mellow fellow, and can read bad books without complaint, but this is a step worse. It's not a book. "Eh?" Well, the thing is that the surroundings/location are invisibly changing at a rather frightening pace. "Whatever do you mean by that?" Well, here is an example:

We headed to the weaver with the threads.
Weaver: "This is some unusual material, I could do a lot with this. Go to the dressing room and measure your size. I should be able to complete the dress tonight. You can pick it up later."
---And another:
"Th-this is so fast..."
"It's more important to get your mother to drink that medicine right. Don't drop it."
"Ye-yes!"
The man went into his house. I followed after him inside. I still hadn't gotten my payment after all.
Coming up to it, it was a regular rural commoner house.

---As you can see, the actions are described, but the surroundings change with little to no notice. (The guy who got a ride mysteriously warped from the road, to the from of his house.) It almost seems as if this whole story came from a manga. All the conversations are there, as well as the actions. But, the surroundings that are portrayed in the pictures are left out. I want to change this, but that means adding sentences, or at least sentence fragments. It will be a noticeable change, but also (in my opinion) a welcome one. So, what say you to this proposition? Is it okay to mess with the translation, or should it be left as is?

I just went ahead and translated the rest of the Japanese names of the chapters. I noticed a few chapters having different ordering comparing the the Web novel. The current chapter 16 should be the 19th chapter from the web novel since, the naming make sense with the chapter's contents (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible). But the problem here lies in 'Black Headed Dog' chapter's contents (according to the web novel's version), which will be very weird without reading chapter 17-19 (preparation, armor, and hourglass) first. Although since the Light novel's version is different from the web novel's one, the contents might be slightly different(but both should be talking about Raphtaria's memory). With that said, what do you guys suggest we should do about this chapter('black headed dog')? Should I just translate according to the webnovel's flow, meaning: re-arranging 'Black Headed Dog' to ch 19?
 There is also chapter 20, 'sword', I don't remember reading any of the web novel's chapter that was close or similarly named around the time line of volume one ( before Wave 1 and a day or two after ). Should we just skip this chapter for now?

- why whip hero name is Taniko?(that's nickname Naofumi give to her, the real name is Wyndia(since my katakana name reading not too good, it's sound like that to me at least)) 
- why the ship hero name is rough?(it based on Raphtalia, so it ought to be Raph-chan. Yes, CHAN is part of the name, thus it would be Raph-chan-chan if other use suffix chan) 
- I never read any part that Filo ever being chosen by the axe weapon. It already midori's by time it spread out 
- likewise, Taniko(Wyndia) not originally meant to be whip hero. It supposed to be Rato's, but she use Wyndia as shield when the weapon approach her, thus it end up as Wyndia's 
- who the heck is Kagami?(u probably meant Glass, the fan hero, though I dunno how u end up with that name instead...) 
- why クズ not included as one of king alternate name?(even history book in 2nd to last chapter of main tale use that name instead) 
- why ビッチ and アバズレ in 1st princess page translate as same?(I know it literally mean same, but at least use different word for variation... Like b*tch and wh*re instead just b*tch) 
- common error of エアスト translated as instant everywhere 
- Motoyasu's curse series spear is supposed to be lust-envy spear, instead just envy spear 
- still in Motoyasu's, Buryunakku is supposed to be Brionac 
- every hero char(4 main + 7 star + 1 n additional 8) have 0の(weapon name) and 0xの(weapon name)... As these are only weapon that allow to damage final enemy(I mention this due Naofumi page include 0の盾 in his skill list) 
- why アトラ read as alta?(it's either Atla or Atra) 
- why there are only 1 Gaerion page? There at least 2(3 if gaiden included) different Gaerion that exists in story(Gaerion(parent of Wyndia), (Gaerion(Pet of Naofumi also pet of Wyndia(male)), and Gaerion(in gaiden story, pet of Naofumi and little sister of Wyndia(female))

Hi, regarding Vol 1 chapter 10 お子様ランチ and Vol 1 side story 2 お子様ランチの旗, I am not sure whether did the publisher or author just put up one of the main chapters as a side story. But I can tell that chapter 10 お子様ランチ is based on web novel's お子様ランチの旗 and side story 2 お子様ランチの旗 is based on web novel's 旗、再び. Or Maybe you want to wait until volume 7 is up, then we do the side story which we can put a note there saying "Unable to finish the volume due to repetitive chapter names with unknown story content". Thanks for translating, but I want to ask about what kind of differences are there between the light novel and the web novl version? Is it something like SAO or Mahouka that first started as a web novel?

Light novels are physical novels that got published by publishers, they usually have illustrations. While Web novels are basically free on the authors' respective websites for those web novels, they don't usually have illustration and the chapters might not be nicely divided into sections (A.K.A arc or volume) comparing to the Light novels, which is the case for Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (there's no arc or volume or even chapter number on the web novel version of tate no yuusha no nariagari). - [[User:Alpaca|Alpaca]] ([[User talk:Alpaca|talk]]) 02:38, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

As a measure of courtesy. The initial Translator had done 75% of the work, with the rest being stalled by real life. Since he didnt indicate that he abandon it, I want to leave him to finish it. If somebody post a c20 link up there, it will be like a slap to the face of the working TL. It will be easy to lose motivation to keep working. As an editor I have NO objection to squeeze every last effort from translators, but by the same token editors should be careful of their feelings and motivations.

Gaelion is the name of Tanikos dad, after deaf eating the wrath dragon in a previous chapter he possessed Gaelion smaller so it is basically 2 souls in one body that will fuse consciousness as he matures.

Basically someone has posted some novels on wattpad without the translator's permission and only the "Author" of the translation is able to get it remove them. The novels and number of chapters are as follows:

---Hey, ladies and gents, I am a new guy here, and I have a selfish request. I've read the LN up to Chapter 37, and it's gotten fairly bad. There are a lot of minor mistakes past Chapter 31, and I can fix those with a smile. However, the story is visibly deteriorating. (I'm a pretty mellow fellow, and can read bad books without complaint, but this is a step worse. It's not a book. "Eh?" Well, the thing is that the surroundings/location are invisibly changing at a rather frightening pace. "Whatever do you mean by that?" Well, here is an example:

We headed to the weaver with the threads.
Weaver: "This is some unusual material, I could do a lot with this. Go to the dressing room and measure your size. I should be able to complete the dress tonight. You can pick it up later."
---And another:
"Th-this is so fast..."
"It's more important to get your mother to drink that medicine right. Don't drop it."
"Ye-yes!"
The man went into his house. I followed after him inside. I still hadn't gotten my payment after all.
Coming up to it, it was a regular rural commoner house.

---As you can see, the actions are described, but the surroundings change with little to no notice. (The guy who got a ride mysteriously warped from the road, to the from of his house.) It almost seems as if this whole story came from a manga. All the conversations are there, as well as the actions. But, the surroundings that are portrayed in the pictures is left out. I want to change this, but that means adding sentences, or at least sentence fragments. It will be a noticeable change, but also (in my opinion) a welcome one. So, what say you to this proposition? Is it okay to mess with the translation, or should it be left as is?
