* In Chiaki's ranting, she uses 'that guy' and 'that man' several times to refer to Tatsuya, and '"that man"' to refer to a different person. The narration then notes the two listeners not noticing the phrase '"that guy"' in her words, which should be referring to the different person, but which she has only used to refer to Tatsuya. Unless the words used are in fact different, I suggest that those two phrases in double quotes by changed to the same phrase.

In the text, the author does make a jump from noticing the differences a half year has made in a person (I assumed he meant Mari) and noticing the changes in the room.
