I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. In addition, some lines in the web novels were toned down in the light novels. (And there's more fanservice in the light novels.)

Simply put, because someone signed up to do Chapter X before I did. Translators work at different speeds, so some chapters may come out ahead of the others. Everyone works at their own pace, so give them some time.

So you're doing one of the Fate series huh? Sounds nice but I still have to ask are you going to be working on Mahouka volume 13? Because it's been out for a while. Though I do recall mention of this being the series first release of the volume as an actual book first rather than it being updated as a webseries first and how that would somehow effect the speed of the translation but still I'd like to know if you are working on it or could give a rough estimate on when you might be planning on working on it

Hey man I know you put in all this work to Translate and now Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei has been licensed. Now we won't be able to keep re-reading the light novels until they release the Volumes over the next like 5 years. Is there any site or anyway that you can send copies of the Volumes to emails so that we as the Fans of your work and of Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei. Is there anyway that we could get the PDF of them and be able to Re-Read the Volumes at anytime we want cause i love your work and this series and for US(Me especially) to have to wait 5 years for YenPress to catch up is just too long without reading it. If you can't i understand but if you could I know not just me but countless others would be grateful for that. Also i think id be a shame for all your hard work to go to waste just sittin g on your computer.

Yeah, but other than the last chapter (Presidential election), its really just a bunch of side stories that have little impact on the main story line (and by little I mean virtually none). Is that the translation you get? Whats the original text? What's the Romaji? "No" was just a Japanese particle without any meaning right? At least we dont have a "no" in our language, that I am aware of. What is the description of this Magi no Figur? If this really were German I would say it should be Magiefigur (or Magie-Figur) which would be in English Magic Figure, but that would be a noun I never heard so like that. In German we would it probably paraphrase it as "magische Erscheinung". Or if that Magi no Figur were a Magic branch, then I would probably call it Körpermagie (English would it probably be called something like Magic of the Body)

Ah, if it is used as a Magic Focus, than I would say we would probably paraphrase it as "magische Figur" (English probably like a Magic Object) and a noun as a combination of those two words were "Magiefigur", but probably we wouldnt it call it like that ourself. Hi hi, so i'm dropping by on your talk page to ask, how do i apply edits and everything...like I mean, most of my edits are going to be major and heavy edits, so is there a way for it the page to show the edits, and wait for approval from translators? I'm new to editting on these online wiki's, since i've helped edit the Akai Ito VN translation, however it was simply link the page on a page document, place original lines, then put the editted line under it, and continue on like that, which i then sent to the translator, and after checking the lines he would then add in the appropriate ones.

Hahah no problem, I had wanted to give back to the community, since being a free leecher and all that doesn't really sit well with me. But it's not that easy editting this novel, since i think the language the author uses is quite convoluted and fancy, so for now i'm going to be focusing on making it read decently in English, before anything else such as extravagant descriptions and all that. Literally it would be like "weird space" or "abnormal space" or something but I think it can generally be translated to "different dimension" or "alternate dimension". Eg. Fuzetsu in Shana could be considered a 異空間. This is based on what it would be in Chinese though, I don't know if it has a different meaning in Japanese and it might depend on context. Someone else had mentioned that some of the volumes had tohyama while other had had tooyama, and i was just trying to figure out which one should be used or if you wanted to leave tohyama as is. Alright, it looks like every "Tooyama" has been changed to "Tohyama", so I think we are good. Also, while checking, I noticed in volume 3 that Kinichi has an apostrophe (Kin'ichi), and I was wondering if that was a mistake or if it was cause of an accent or a different translation. Ah, when the kanji or whatever ends with the character ん or ン (n), the ' is used to denote it as such. Think about it this way, you can have kin-ichi, or kini-chi. See the difference? The ' is used to make it clear that the 'n' is its own character. However, when romanizing, it isn't always necessary. That's the thing about romaji. 'Stats' and levels are not connected. Stats only refer to latent abilities. Level refers to how well you've developed them.

:From what I know, it follows the typical format of S,A,B,C,D,E and level up. I take that the stats are inherent for each monster (or species) and indicates a range (meaning one monster with B strength can be stronger than another one with B, but never than one with A, always speaking of equal levels), while level could be taken as a "multiplier". :The short answer is no, I do not. In the past, most of the volumes that have been published have always contained material that had been published elsewhere (either in web format or in magazines). This might be the first time that we're seeing the author put to print things no one has ever seen before, and only time will tell whether this slows down future volumes. Why not give one image a level and give a link to it? I can understand your desire to level things, but I think the gray color suits a light novel. It's a bit too different from manga which has less reliance on shading, so it may not look right if you do it improperly. It's a wiki you know, you're free to set it up when it's appropriate (I've done volume 4 now). It completely depends upon if I translator picks up the chapter, as translators are allowed to choose single chapters. Skipping Volume 5 wouldn't affect the story as there "Side Stories" to the main plot :3. Although i would also like them translated.

I would think the cover page would have shown you what to expect, as it is already there in full (black) color. If anything it just looks like a all black pilot suit...
In any case, the 'mobile' or 'mobility' suit is basically your flying armor, except since its technomagical its more logical having the 'flight capacity' CAD module as the whole suit, instead of wings or a broomstick. It does show something more practical compared to what more contemporary fiction shows.

Horrible-quality animation comes around every once in a while, but most anime adaptations these days are quite good. An anime of a beloved series is something to be interested in, to be curious about, and definitely something to be happy about. (Though unrelated, the studio is completely different from the one behind the SAO adaptation.) Everything in Accel World should be 3rd person in Haruyuki's Point of View. When "I" is used, those are direct thoughts that I usually just put in single quotes, which Zero2001 will later change to italics if he want. No worries, my translation is far from perfect. Personally, I prefer minimal edits, and as you're not an editor in the project, I'd hope you wouldn't make much major edits. To be honest, I'm quite loyal to my own translations, so if it's really a big change or one that will alter the meaning, I'll be doing edit reverts and the like. I just noticed the 'feint' thing, so I guess I should make a remark on that too. The passage vaguely puts something like Taichi depended on his 'will and spirit' to achieve it; however, it is clearly said before that Taichi forced his will and spirit out. It is totally unconvincing as why the writer would tell the readers all Taichi did before in volume 1 (the first arc) was all fake, but that's how Taichi thinks of it. His spirit and determination was not what he really thinks, it's just what he tried to pretend in front of those girls to make himself and of course those girls feel better. Now that they are having another problem, Taichi knew well that he needed to do something else to solve the problem. That's why in the sentence Taichi have to think up of a more creative way. - Pudding321

Oh. I've messed them up too many times already I've lost count. I'm still confused with those Japanese names. Basically, Nagase is used in description and Iori in dialogue. The same goes for Kiriyama and Yui, but Yui is only referred in dialogue sometimes by the girls. Inaba is always Inaba, save Inaban which is only referred by Nagase. I'm going with 'Surname - Name'. That is, Inaba Himeko, Yaegashi Taichi, Kiriyama Yui, Nagase Iori, and Aoki Yoshifumi. There may be exceptions, but that's basically it. - Pudding321

Everything in Accel World should be 3rd person in Haruyuki's Point of View. When "I" is used, those are direct thoughts that I usually just put in single quotes, which Zero2001 will later change to italics if he want. To be honest, I'm quite loyal to my own translations, so if it's really a big change or one that will alter the meaning, I'll be doing edit reverts and the like. I just noticed the 'feint' thing, so I guess I should make a remark on that too. The passage vaguely puts something like Taichi depended on his 'will and spirit' to achieve it; however, it is clearly said before that Taichi forced his will and spirit out. It is totally unconvincing as why the writer would tell the readers all Taichi did before in volume 1 (the first arc) was all fake, but that's how Taichi thinks of it. His spirit and determination was not what he really thinks, it's just what he tried to pretend in front of those girls to make himself and of course those girls feel better. Now that they are having another problem, Taichi knew well that he needed to do something else to solve the problem. That's why in the sentence Taichi have to think up of a more creative way. - Pudding321

Oh. I've messed them up too many times already I've lost count. I'm still confused with those Japanese names. Basically, Nagase is used in description and Iori in dialogue. The same goes for Kiriyama and Yui, but Yui is only referred in dialogue sometimes by the girls. Inaba is always Inaba, save Inaban which is only referred by Nagase. I'm going with 'Surname - Name'. That is, Inaba Himeko, Yaegashi Taichi, Kiriyama Yui, Nagase Iori, and Aoki Yoshifumi. There may be exceptions, but that's basically it. - Pudding321

I'm reading the first volume, and in Chapter 2 Part 4 should be written "Castello Sforzesco", not "Castella Sforzesco".
And if anyone wants, "Cuor di Leone" is better than "Cuore di Leone"; it's grammatically correct but, "Cuor di Leone" sounds better and have a different meaning, more appropriate. ("Cuore di Leone" it's like a real hearth of a lion, "Cuor di Leone" it's like the rhetorical figure of the courage of the lion; if it's the name of a weapon, object or item, it should definitely be the 2nd one). Can we get a decision on which to use? Pluralizing with apostrophes is wrong, so "miko's" ought to be out; the choice should be between "mikos" and "miko".

I couldn't find a Baka-Tsuki guideline for this, but [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Japan-related_articles#Pluralization the Wikipedia one] says that normally "miko" would be used. This is actually under discussion in the forum [http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=4702&sid=c7035c5526973f1f4af6dbb3502c9d3f Terminology thread]. So far, the only one who has weighed in on the issue is Project Supervisor Kadi, who has advocated the unaltered form, i.e. "miko" whether plural or singular. I have no objections to that. In the future, please bring up style issues in the forum thread.

I would appreciate a bit of research before stating something flatly as wrong. Apparently, the use of "apostrophe s" to pluralize foreign words was common before the 19th century, so I guess I'm just old-fashioned and obsolete in that regard :P --[[User:Zzhk|Zzhk]] 03:47, 8 July 2012 (CDT)

In vol 12 chapter 1 When they talk about the 2 members from the idiot trio that came last in the translation it was addressed as if they were godou's best friends when we all know they are Nanami's best friends and they do name themselves that a little while after. Anyone knows what happened to "Volume 8 Chapter 2 - Seeking the Mysterious Devil King, the Campione・FINALE " ? It seems unreasonable that just that one chapter was not translated so maybe the link got damaged or something?. I don't know if this has been addressed before but it was highly confusing so I decided to venture and ask.

I understand translators have their own lives, and am very grateful for the time they give to translate all these LNs but if at all possible before translating further volumes could someone translate the missing chapter? otherwise people will be stuck on volume 8 without being able to read the other volumes which are already translated.

Even back then the discussion was confused. From what I remember (and the way I understood it), Vaelis was unhappy because the images were too large, size-wise, making the page slow to load and we were spoiling because we ''didn't'' use the covers. My standpoint was the size is very manageable nowadays (I manage, every day, with limited data volume/month on my smartphone) and we don't actually spoil anything because the image we use are only a part of the cover anyway. As for why we use them rather than the cover... they look better.
