Uhh seriously why do people ask? The last update was on the 19th, and from the registration page people are working on other parts. The more you ask the more people don't feel like doing it :( --[[User:Lighthalzen|Lighthalzen]] 21:39, 1 April 2012 (CDT)

The reason I asked was that some of the chapters (namely Chapter 3) have no translator registered, and I was wondering whether there was anyone who was translating and hadn't put their name down. Actually, the latest revision was on March 31st (in terms of actually adding translations); Seitsuki added some more to chapter 6, if memory serves. I also hope people will eventually get to translating this. --[[User:CrimsonLord|CrimsonLord]] 17:17, 3 April 2012 (CDT)
When are teaser projects allowed to be moved to the main section? Could really use some more exposure to get more people on board translating. I'm sure the recent manga releases have helped drum up some excitement for the series.

Are the translators doing it by the volumes as they come out on sale, or from online readers? Because the fifth volume just went on sale this month, but on this Japanese reading site, there are 6 volumes online.--[[User:Desodus|Desodus]] 22:04, 18 April 2012 (CDT)
There are 6 volume release online cause the web version is longer than the published one, the published one is the compilation of the web version I just can't remember how they are allocated I think its like this v1-2 of the web version is v1 of the published one, and the total number of web version that will be released is around 12 I think? --[[User:Serice|Serice]]
Interesting... very interesting... I think it would be a good idea to hurry and complete the teaser chapters and then promote this into an official project. This has enough content to become a project, but the problem is, no one wants to list himself as an active translator, I'll give another few weeks before I check back with suarhnir on her progress. Query: Does Baka-Tsuki accept Chinese-English translations for this series?

I believe the good folk at lightnovel.cn are much farther in advance in terms of translations, but theirs is (obviously) only in Chinese and their work alone. I do not read Japanese at all, but I am confident in my own Chinese-English translations. Would Baka-Tsuki accept my possible contribution if I converted the Chinese translations into English? Why not give one image a level and give a link to it? I can understand your desire to level things, but I think the gray color suits a light novel. It's a bit too different from manga which has less reliance on shading, so it may not look right if you do it improperly. Then again, I have very limited experience as an editor, and I have no idea what it is you can do, so I guess that may seem a bit condescending of me. It's a wiki you know, you're free to set it up when it's appropriate (I've done volume 4 now). Also, from what I understand the preamble is the blue page and the character info/glossary of term pages you can see in the illustrations, therefore it isn't really that important since it (the events/timetable of events) is explained in detail within the storyline anyways.--[[User:Drowzycow|Drowzycow]] ([[User talk:Drowzycow|talk]]) 19:57, 22 December 2012 (CST)
There is only one story in volume 5 that has even the slightly effect on the story, and it's already been translated. The rest can be skipped which is why their not translated. Your missing out on a damn epic story if your still hang up in Volume 5 side stories.
I would think the cover page would have shown you what to expect, as it is already there in full (black) color. If anything it just looks like a all black pilot suit...
In any case, the 'mobile' or 'mobility' suit is basically your flying armor, except since its technomagical its more logical having the 'flight capacity' CAD module as the whole suit, instead of wings or a broomstick. It does show something more practical compared to what more contemporary fiction shows.
Though it won't include your chosen name, four consecutive tildes should still automatically make a signature which makes it easier to match what you say with an entry in a Discussion's History. I had trouble watching the PV on the website, but was able to view it at youtube watch?v=RiuznXhx4_Q . The art style is a little worryingly simplistic (reminiscent of Vocaloid visual quality?), but I have no complaints regarding the two main characters and look forward to seeing what is done with it.
<br>|<br>
In recent season, 'Campione!' is my freshest memory of an anime adaptation which did not adequately succeed, but it was nevertheless enjoyable to watch. No matter what, there will always be dissatisfaction with how much ends up not adapted from a novel, but I (aside from a certain incorrect error message) was thoroughly satisfied by the SAO anime adaptation.
<br>|<br>
...It would be a deep shame to not be able to keep reading new Rettousei volumes, but on the other hand most main climaxes have already taken place. Granted, I would be deeply interested in reading about Miyuki taking over the Yotsuba family, or about Miyuki and Tatsuya's super-babies, but if the translation was shut down I would hopefully be able to focus on the wonderful volumes that have been translated thus far and be happy (and grateful) that I had a chance to read them.
<br>|<br>
Horrible-quality animation comes around every once in a while, but most anime adaptations these days are quite good. An anime of a beloved series is something to be interested in, to be curious about, and definitely something to be happy about. (Though unrelated, the studio is completely different from the one behind the SAO adaptation.) If (in the worst case scenario) the visual quality in fact turns out to make it painfully unwatchable, one can always minimise the window and listen to it like an audio book. In any case, it would take some quite serious mangling for one to not be able to get happiness from this anime, and mangling of that level is rare indeed (though admittedly not unwitnessed). -[[User:Multipartite|Multipartite]] ([[User talk:Multipartite|talk]]) 18:18, 7 October 2013 (CDT)
Lastly, I am worried over the character of Mayumi and Tatsuya. So now that it is over, anyone else have any thoughts about the anime? What is the general consensus here? In my opinion, they screwed it up big time. I was SOOPER stoked when I heard about the anime. I even went out of my way to tell my friends to watch it because it should be epic. In the end though, it feels like they focused too much on the important scenes but ignored the things in between that make those scenes important. I understand that they have a limited amount of time, but they managed to get enough of a following to take up a 2 month (25 episode) slot, why couldnt they break it up into using only the first 3 volumes volumes instead of forcing down the 4th? There was definitely enough content. After all was said and done, Miyuki seemed like a Sakura-gone-brocon (Original Naruto) where she stood back and cried as Tatsuya did all the heavy lifting. Tatsuya was a badass (like he should be) but the show made him too OP instead of emphasizing the leash that Miyuki has over him. And all the other characters were virtually backups/nonexistent. [For example, in our dojo, the earliest we would teach any techniques to the students would be at least 6 months after enrollment." ~Those that cannot learn from the people around them and solely rely on being taught, are utterly delusional."]

== Can someone please make PDF files for this light novel? ==

I tried but I really suck at those kinds on things. I don't mind reading online but I prefer PDF files. So, if someone is able to convert the finished volumes to a similar format as "A Certain Magical Index" PDF files, I would really appreciate it and if not, that's cool too. I managed to make really crappy PDF files with the "Web 2 PDF" add on but reading online is way better than those. I'm gonna copy and paste this same exact message for all my fave light novels. I've been using this web site for over a year now and I just made an account so I could ask this.

Go to this website:
https://www.mediafire.com/?6a6tgxa6o18vk#tvasb4muurej0
Credits go to the respective creators

*Hint: you can find the PDF version of most Light Novel simply by typing the LN name and add "pdf" at the end into Google.

You can also use a "save as MHT" plugins for firefox, IE, or Chrome to save local copies of the chapters. That saves webpages into a single file container, WYSIWYG, and can be opened on pretty much any phone or tablet browser as well. It's good for preserving the exact formatting and appearance of the webpage source, which copypasta pdf's don't do so well on; and since it saves links as well, it can still get back to the page in question to open picture thumbnails or links in the text.

you can open the full text and then on the left hand column there is an option "Download as PDF" click on it ..the site will make a pdf and you just have to download it [[User:Sidp2201|Sidp2201]] ([[User talk:Sidp2201|talk]])

what I do when I want ebooks to most projects on baka-tsuki is use the ebook generator: http://ln.m-chan.org/v3/ and then use an online format converter - in your case just search "epub to pdf" and you'll find lots of free online converters.
I haven't seen the source material but why is it called "New Soren" rather than something like "New Soviet Union". I feel that the latter would be more clear even though the meaning is implied to be the Russia area (can be deduced when reading about the other world powers such as USNA, Great Asian Alliance, etc.).
=== '''Questions and Answers''' ===

'''1. Are you working on the light novels or the web novels? What's the difference?'''

I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. In addition, some lines in the web novels were toned down in the light novels. (And there's more fanservice in the light novels.)

'''2. Hey, dude, the chapters are out of order! Why did you translate Chapter Y before Chapter X?'''

Simply put, because someone signed up to do Chapter X before I did. Translators work at different speeds, so some chapters may come out ahead of the others. Everyone works at their own pace, so give them some time.

'''3. So when's your next chapter coming out?'''

If I got a dollar every time someone asked me this, I would be able to do this for a living. Click on the User Page tab on the top left corner and you will find my progression on the latest chapter as well as a ''rough'' estimate on when the chapter will be complete. And, no, it has been scientifically proven that asking me to work faster/harder does not improve translation speed. I am working off of PST in California, so do take that into account when looking for the new chapter on my update days.

'''4. Are you going to translate all the volumes?'''

Until otherwise stated, yes.

'''5. I got the chapter summaries from somewhere else, may I post them in the forums?'''

Please don't. Last I heard, the chapter summaries flying everywhere absolutely killed all motivation for the translators. So...... Please don't. Please.

'''6. I want to join the project, where do I sign up?'''

I don't have the power to actually grant that since I am not the project leader for MKnR, larenthian is. If you are interested in joining the project, drop by the Feedback Thread to let larenthian and Seitsuki know. Following that, inscribe your name onto the [[Mahouka_Koukou_no_Rettousei:Registration_Page|Registration]] page next to which chapter you would like to work on. I will '''not''' provide RAWs, so do not ask.

'''7. I have more questions that you haven't answered here!'''
Hey Dreyakis! Thanks again for the awesome work. I know you do these translations for fun, but I wanted to ask: would it be okay to send you and some of the other translators/editors on this project a few gift cards or something? Without the Mahouka translators and editors many of us would simply be unable to enjoy a lot of these foreign works. You guys have worked really hard on these translations and I'd love to chance to thank you guys for the awesome job on Mahouka. [[User:D4mi3n|d4mi3n]] ([[User talk:D4mi3n|talk]])
:While I do appreciate the sentiment, we translators are ultimately just that: translators. We do not own the rights to the material and thus should not and cannot receive any profit or benefit from the translations. I am very happy to be able to work on Mahouka and bring it over to an audience that previously was unable to read this, but I will have to turn you down. In fact, the best thing you can do to thank us is to head on over to the Appreciation Thread in the Mahouka forums and tell us. So you're doing one of the Fate series huh? Sounds nice but I still have to ask are you going to be working on Mahouka volume 13? Because it's been out for a while. Though I do recall mention of this being the series first release of the volume as an actual book first rather than it being updated as a webseries first and how that would somehow effect the speed of the translation but still I'd like to know if you are working on it or could give a rough estimate on when you might be planning on working on it
Sorry if I'm unreasonable but fuck this is horrible
Volume 5 is a compilation of short stories and is not part of the main storyline. You can skip this and proceed to volume 6.
Nope, Its Volume 5, not 4.5 or SS
Yeah, but other than the last chapter (Presidential election), its really just a bunch of side stories that have little impact on the main story line (and by little I mean virtually none). Besides all that's left is an unfinished chapter about a side charachter that hasn't been used other than an extra (like people in movies that are there just for the sake of the feel/mood) [[User:SXIII|SXIII]] ([[User talk:SXIII|talk]]) 19:11, 23 June 2014 (CDT)
== Update Questions ==

I'm wondering why is the update keeps jumping around. For example suddenly Volume 16 chapter 5 is out, whereas volume 3 hasn't even finished yet. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate every update there is and feeling grateful to each of the translator. I just think it's not an efficient way to translate distant volume which couldn't be read before we finished reading all the volume before it. Thank you for the translations.

Volume 1-3 are being done by Silent, I helped out starting with going through him, then I decided to post directly to BT, I had already posted partial chapters on a forum of volume 4 & 16, so I just finished those up and posted them here while doing volume 4-5. == Volume 4, すれ違い chapter name ==
Would suggest a change to 'crossing paths', since that gives the mistaken impression of actually coming across each other. I wonder if there isn't a more eloquent way of saying "passing by each other without meeting".
: Perhaps the phase "a passing encounter" might work?
: Suggesting they almost met but instead, passed each other entirely.
: Onizuka-GTO 02:55, 8 July 2014 (CDT)

Spoilers: Technically their paths do cross, it's not just referring to one person, but Rudeus runs into Kishirika, and Roxy runs into Rujierudo & Eris. Their routes overlap in the same town as well. So I think Crossing Paths is pretty relevant either way. Mushoku Tensei is surprisingly deep when it comes to double meanings someone mentioned the term Chekhov's Gun to me in regards to that previously. -[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]]

But the issue is that though 擦れ違い has multiple meanings, "crossing paths" isn't one of them. They're all related to ''not'' crossing paths.

For example, 1) walking right past someone
2) having different opinions to someone （意見の擦れ違い）
3) passing by someone without coming into contact with them

The thing about learning languages is that sometimes people look too deeply into commonly used phrases. Though I can't say for certain, I'm of the strong opinion that a Japanese hearing スレチガイ wouldn't ever think of crossing paths. It's used a lot in literature, and it's always a strong focus on passing by each other.

Of course I'll accept your final opinion without qustion, but I wanted to try and convince you first ahaha. [[User:Vanant|Vanant]] ([[User talk:Vanant|talk]]) 09:23, 8 July 2014 (CDT)

Hmmm... it's almost philosophical, I get the literal meaning, but I would consider something like getting on trains going in opposite directions of the same station without meeting, both Crossing Paths and Missing Each Other, heck you could even walk right by each other without realizing it in some situations. Maybe "Missed Encounter" would work better. --[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]] ([[User talk:Dark Kaito|talk]]) 09:37, 8 July 2014 (CDT)
Ah, I forgot to mention, but when I first posted this I wasn't thinking of the later chapter with Roxy. (I read a few chapters ahead before starting my practice). I had thought the name of the chapter had actually referred to the boat-construction guild head lol. In an earlier chapter, he was entertaining the delusion of saving a ship-builder's daughter, and then getting into his good graces. In reality he knocks the guy out ahahaha. Cross checked with google and most of the lines are exactly the same with minor edit here and there. Can someone check them? -[[User:pumkingboyz|pumkingboyz]]

By the sounds of it, the whole of 18 and 19 needs to be redone, which will take a while. There are still small and large mistakes in Volume 3 and 4. Since he's only one guy, Kaito hasn't gotten around to editing them yet. If you can read enough Japanese to skip to 18 and 19, wouldn't it be fine to edit them yourselves? Ah, though it sounds rude on the net, I'm not trying to be aggressive or anything. [[User:Vanant|Vanant]] ([[User talk:Vanant|talk]]) 09:15, 8 July 2014 (CDT)
Why are these chapters even here? You might as well just give people the link to the webnovels and have them paste it into google translate themselves. == Chapter names and web novel ==

I think the "Web novel chapter XX" should stay in the names of the chapters, because the text has been translated from the web novel and not the novel, so for example if somebody did TC, or just moved from the japanese novel (or to the novel), there would be some discrepancies.--[[User:Zuruumi|Zuruumi]] ([[User talk:Zuruumi|talk]]) 07:53, 10 July 2014 (CDT)

Agreed that's why I added them there when I translated the titles (it was hard to keep track for translating purposes with the different chapter #s as well otherwise). The only ones that don't need it are the first 11 chapters, since it only gets confusing starting from chapter 12 which starts after the prologue of the 2nd volume. For whatever reason it seems like the author stopped using prologues after the 2nd volume. Also, side stories/extras aren't included as chapters according to the authors chapter numbering. --[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]] ([[User talk:Dark Kaito|talk]]) 09:30, 10 July 2014 (CDT)

As previously messaged to Zuruumi, the primary reason i removed them was that the inclusion of two "Chapter XX" within the same chapter title can be confusion from a readers perspective. They rarely care where it's from, only that it is in an clearly marked order. I guess the secondary reason of that it contributed to an already long chapter name to begin with.

However i understand the concerns, to differentiate between published and web sources, so perhaps a compromise?

I proposal attaching a simplified indication, perhaps something like - "[WNXX]" on the end of the chapter title to stand for: "Web Novel XX".
== easier to translate. ==

is it easier for you guys to translate this because it is available as a web novel instead of mostly light novel?
let me guess you guys are translating it like this. you have two windows open one for the docs and one for the web novels.

It is mostly because most people are using some tools to help with their translations. Even if you used only a wocabulary for every 1000th word it is much eisier to just copy-paste it than to search for it for 15 minutes. Well it is also truth, that this novel doesne´t use so much of hard kanji, therefore making it much easier to translate than for example Mahouka or Mondaiji (well there it is hard because of the riddles).--[[User:Zuruumi|Zuruumi]] ([[User talk:Zuruumi|talk]]) 07:38, 12 July 2014 (CDT)
*アリエル・アネモイ・アスラ -> Ariel Anemoi Asura (this one surprinsingly goes with the Greyrat naming conventions, as the middle name, Anemoi, is the name given to all of the Greek wind gods; to add to it, "Ariel" comes from the name of a wind spirit from Shakespeare's "The Tempest")
== Raws ==

By the way, I was thinking, whether it is also forbidden to link to raws for this series. It is from understandable reasons forbiden for other series, but as this is a web novel and thus it would break no laws it might be allowed (maybe). Well this is nothing important really, just for my information, as I was considering adding the link to the web novel there.--[[User:Zuruumi|Zuruumi]] ([[User talk:Zuruumi|talk]]) 10:02, 19 July 2014 (CDT)

Linking to raws on the talk pages is also forbidden. A link to the web novel if it's still available on the author's site should be allowed. However, it's usually the case that the author takes the web novel down once it gets a published book. So if it's a copy of the web novel somewhere else besides the author's original posting, then that is still not allowed. --[[User:Cthaeh|Cthaeh]] ([[User talk:Cthaeh|talk]]) 17:49, 19 July 2014 (CDT)

The link Zuruumi makes reference to is the link to the author's site, with no cached copies intermediary. It seems to me that the author has decided to keep the web version due to the stylistic differences and extra info (like the identity of the video wich was the cause of it all being an amateur self-taken video of her very underaged niece bathing). The fact is, the original web version is still up.--[[User:Kemm|Kemm]] ([[User talk:Kemm|talk]]) 06:37, 20 July 2014 (CDT)
And thanks for adding the link :). I hope it will be helpfull to some people (especially as this is quite easy to read thanks to it being in text format and not images as other raws, thus making to quite convenient for using some tools).--[[User:Zuruumi|Zuruumi]] ([[User talk:Zuruumi|talk]]) 10:17, 20 July 2014 (CDT)

Yes they are web novel volumes other than the first three which have been published as light novels. Eventually the LN version will come out but generally some of the content will be toned down because the web novel is actually a more raw version. For your other question I'm pretty sure that, up until volume 2's prologue, they are LN translations and after that it is all web novel translation. I'm only guessing but it is on the basis that they only start counting the web novels from there but someone else may correct me on that. I do know that silent wolfie did translate the web novel from the start so it could be that he just contributed those translations. Frost Nova[advance] = Water splash[basic] + Icicle break[intermediate]
Absolute Zero[MASSIVE AoE Frost Nova] = Cumulonimbus[Saint] + Icicle Break[this magic is to loweirng the atmospher in the area]

There's a large difference between magic that uses incantations and chantless/voiceless incantations. The purpose of the incantation in magic is to set the parameters like speed, rotation, size, shape, etc... There's formula behind those seemingly mysterious spell words and magic circles. However, when you use chantless magic you're directly modifying the parameters with magic power, through making figures Rudeus has learned how to modify parameters of magic that are normally defaulted with incantations, IE shape, and certain other variations that add to power/hardness.

Therefore, a lot of his magic even basic spells gain Emperor level power, or can't be defined as clearly as others. The way he converts Roxy's King class Water magic into a stun gun/AoE lightning strike is similar, breaking down the phenomena then directly manipulating the magic power to cause the same/similar effect with less wasteful casting as in the incantation. For that same reason it's hard to define if he's considered an Emperor class magician, though many of his spells have that level of power, he's not "officially known" as one. --[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]] ([[User talk:Dark Kaito|talk]]) 01:11, 23 July 2014 (CDT)
== Very low Quality? ==

I will need a clarification over this new labelling.

If this is because they are machine translation, then they must be tagged as "preview" to give awareness that they have not been translated with context in mind or that they are a "substitute" in lieu of the registered translated version.

If they are indeed human translated but in a very rudimentary elements then i would rather that the labelling be changed to "'''Editing in Progress'''".

It's actually a very good idea.

There some readers that's complaining about the poor quality of the chapter. Volume 16 up to Volume 19 that was handled by [[User:zmunjali|zmunjali]] was machine translated with him checking the authenticity from the raws.

I agree with this idea.

I'm already done editing Chapter 1-3 of Volume 17, but I changed many lines since it's inconceivable. I'm just awaiting TLC from the translators.

--c0debreaker6 02:49, 23 July 2014 (CDT)

I've seen mention of including volume 16 in that here and there, but the two volume 16 chapters currently up were done by Myopius and I, as far as I know they're both actual translations not machine read/otherwise. --[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]] ([[User talk:Dark Kaito|talk]]) 02:56, 23 July 2014 (CDT)

In that case, I will be labelling all of Volume 17 with Preview tags and add the "Editing in Progress" labels.
Volume 16 chapters are fine and do not need any additional labelling besides the normal odd editing.
Actually it's what i expected from a raw translation without initial rough editing, but from a readers perspective it's almost liken to a "machine Translation" and it can be hard to reader or understand, especially to non-native english readers. Therefore it is appropriate to draw as much Editing attention to work on these chapters and to tell readers that they are essentially walking on the concrete while it's still wet.
I also think , it will go a long way if you can also add in the Japanese lines on the more "raw" sentences and paragraphs, that way the editors and free translators can help you fine comb and smooth it out and let them help you fill in the content, this will spread the workload and get you moving on to the other chapters faster.
== Editing issues ==

So after looking through the a few of the volumes I found that there are a lot of sentences that sound awkward.

For example, in Volume 1 Chapter 3 I see this:
"The literacy of Japanese was nearly 100%, but there were many people who were poor in the English language, so there were many people who balked at the idea of going overseas, and they even treated foreign languages as a skill set."

The sentence would sound better if it was rephrased into:
"The literacy rate of Japan was nearly 100%, but there were many people who were in poor in the English language, so they balked at the idea of going overseas and even treated foreign languages as a skill set."

Basically, I'm wondering how much I can change the words and sentence structure when I'm editing. I noticed that translators are worried about changes that remove important information and foreshadowing elements from the story, so I just want to get this issue out of the way now.
I find that editing acceptable. as long as you do not add any words that can change the contextual meaning of the sentence. i.e. changing English to German etc etc etc.

All you did is change "Japanese" to "Japan" add "rate" and "in" (although i suspect that's a mistake).
i've looked over the raws for volume 02 and found out that the last chapter he uploaded is the epilogue and not the "Extra Chapter - Goddess of the Forest" (番外編 - 森の女神). in the raws i have it starts on page 301, right after the Roxy image.

== Update Questions ==

Then someone else also decided to post his translations for the more recent chapters that he does as they come out daily. - [[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]]

== Volume 4, すれ違い chapter name ==
Would suggest a change to 'crossing paths', since that gives the mistaken impression of actually coming across each other. I wonder if there isn't a more eloquent way of saying "passing by each other without meeting". [[User:Vanant|Vanant]] ([[User talk:Vanant|talk]]) 02:28, 8 July 2014 (CDT)

SPOILERS:<br />
Ah, I forgot to mention, but when I first posted this I wasn't thinking of the later chapter with Roxy. (I read a few chapters ahead before starting my practice). I had thought the name of the chapter had actually referred to the boat-construction guild head lol. In an earlier chapter, he was entertaining the delusion of saving a ship-builder's daughter, and then getting into his good graces. In reality he knocks the guy out ahahaha.
Why are these chapters even here? You might as well just give people the link to the webnovels and have them paste it into google translate themselves. There is no "editing" to be done; anyone touching those chapters that can spot errors would have to retranslate the whole thing anyway. --Anonymous
To the anon above: cleaned up/partially corrected machine translations are far easier to read than raw output, so they're appealing to the type of people who'd rather read this with Google Translate than wait for a better TL.

I proposal attaching a simplified indication, perhaps something like - "[WNXX]" on the end of the chapter title to stand for: "Web Novel XX".
is it easier for you guys to translate this because it is available as a web novel instead of mostly light novel?
let me guess you guys are translating it like this. you have two windows open one for the docs and one for the web novels.

== Very low Quality? ==

--Onizuka-GTO 02:16, 23 July 2014 (CDT)

== About the names ==

I think we should have at least an "official" terminologies for the names... There are times when I idiotically mistook the name "Zanis" as a new character since I was a little drowsy, it was a fault made by myself but seriously, it should have been "Zenith". So, I would like to advice/propose that someone (other than myself) to edit those terms on the near future if spotted... If it's okay with you people/translators and editors. == translators ==

thats a poop ton of translators. damn

== Editing issues ==

--[[User:Sarnik|Sarnik]] ([[User talk:Sarnik|talk]]) 00:54, 25 July 2014 (CDT)

I find that editing acceptable. as long as you do not add any words that can change the contextual meaning of the sentence. i.e. changing English to German etc etc etc.

All you did is change "Japanese" to "Japan" add "rate" and "in" (although i suspect that's a mistake).

-- [[User:Pumkingboyz|Pumkingboyz]]

I think most of those lines are better left in their original form matching the translation. In regards to the smart thing, the word smart was used in English that's why I used that word specifically.

In regards to the future stuff, there's no if about it he can clearly see several blurring futures when he uses it too far. In the second part the the line starts with him saying, "Three, Four, I can go that far but after I get to Five there are tens of possibilities", etc... imagine it kind of like having 10s of transparent windows on a computer all lined up partially overlapping that's how he sees the future, and the further he looks the more screens it adds on, there's no limit to how far past five seconds, it just become too many screens to differentiate them and puts more burden on his brain.
Yes, Gyuesu is basically remembering back to how unpleasant his little sister Girenu was, I had trouble with the wording for that one, but he felt that Girenu wasn't worthy of being his little sister/family. She was a shame to the family in his opinion, and that was also filled with hostility from his own bad experiences with her (she was stronger than him). --[[User:Dark Kaito|Dark Kaito]] ([[User talk:Dark Kaito#top|talk]]) 09:05, 12 July 2014 (CDT)

Bunnybacon: First pass edits. I tried to be non-invasive as possible; however, you should consider changing the writing style a bit since it doesn't flow properly in english.

==Prologue==

“I, wonder what type of person I will fall in love with………..”

The girl-----Hotaka Miyabi is bad with the opposite sex.

It’s not like she has an inerasable trauma from her childhood…………but, it’s just that she is bad with strangers and shy. Above that, another reason of it was that she went to an only-girls middle school same like her sister.

Because of that, the existence of males in the same age as the middle-school Miyabi, only appeared in stories like drama or manga.

But even if she is bad with them, it’s not like she has no interest in love.

Because of that, she has imagined that she will fall for someone one day------like that.

Even though she was not conscious about this, her head turned completely blank when she saw the target of her liking getting kissed----even though it’s just on the cheek. To Miyabi, who has slowly gotten used to having a conversation with the opposite sex, a kiss is a very high level action for her.

The moment she regained her composure the criticism that came out from her mouth was-------a cute shout calling him pervert. Of course, it’s not like there were any bad intentions in it and those were the only words that Miyabi could have thought of in her half-panicked state.

However, she encountered a different kind of emotion in her chest when she recalled of the event calmly after some time passed and by then, it'd become night time. As if being covered in haze, that hazy emotions she felt had made it hard to breathe and at the same time made her feelings heavier.

Thanks to that, Miyabi felt troubled.

(What is this feeling………)

“Miyabi, I am turning off the lights”

“Ah, un………….”

Since she was daydreaming about the emotions in her chest while laying on the bed, before she knew it, it had been time for lights out and Tachibana, her roommate and at the same time <<Duo>>, called out to her.

After Miyabi nodded, Tomoe turned off the lights and the room was covered in darkness.

She closed her eyes, but the event that happened in the afternoon still did not vanish. The image of the boy who gave her the feelings to make her work harder in Kouryou academy and is her first male friend, getting kissed.

The haze in her chest would not clear up.

It was there, whether she slept or stay awake.

The girl-----Tachibana is dense.

Of course, the denseness here is related to the opposite sex-----which means it is related to love emotions.

She can take care of everything other than love in details, and is good at taking care of others.

Although she was a little hard-headed, she is diligent, social, and is seen favorably by others.

But she is dense.

It was something created from her environment.

Being born in the martial family of the Tachibana style, Tomoe had devoted most of her childhood days training to succeed the family’s name. Fortunately she was blessed with the talent of martial arts and the tough training certainly bore fruit even though it was little by little.

However, it became Tomoe’s misfortune. The training of the Tachibana style was to give girls the strength to make males in the same age as them run away barefooted.

Strength is simply something standard to males-----especially teenagers.

The fact of having a girl stronger than them made the teenage males around Tomoe have stubborn hearts. It was so severe that not even one person could tell his feelings even if they had favorable intentions towards the girl.

If any one of them was honest then, Tomoe might have been able to discover love.

……………….judging from the point of telling their feelings, there were several times she got letters and chocolates from other girls and that made her confused.

Anyways-------as a result of being of being born in the environment she was raised in with that talent, Tomoe grew up without knowing about love. Different from Miyabi, one of the reasons was that she had no chance to touch any works that made her yearn for love.

That is why; the trigger of this was being treated as a girl by a teenage boy she met in Kouryou academy.

Even though it was not like she fell in love, it was just strong enough to concern over the boy unconsciously.

That was still a small feeling. Her chest rustled the moment she saw he getting kissed, and she crushed the chance to notice this feeling by shouting how shameless------which was done from outside her senses.

But even so, her story did not stop and still continues on.

Gradually but certainly, she was starting to get attracted to the boy without noticing it.

After a few days passed, the boy------Kokonoe Tooru got discharged and returned back to the girls.

When Miyabi thinks about Tooru, her chest aches. It feels itchy and does not calm down.

Strangely enough, those feelings disappears when Tooru actually stands in front of her and she gets wrapped in an uplifting fluffy and comfortable feeling as a replacement.

It '''''was''''' the same thing when Tooru called out to her when she headed to the cafeteria alone during the evening.

---Yes, in past tense.

“Eh……Ah, you are going with Tomoe-chan tomorrow morning………..?”

What Tooru was saying was, that he would most likely not show his face in the morning runs for a while because he was going to learn martial arts from Tomoe starting tomorrow morning.

“Sorry. We promised to have her teach me once the <<Survive>> ended”

Even though he did not make any promise with Miyabi, Tooru felt a little apologetic to her since he runs with her almost every day.

This sudden talk gave Miyabi a shock when she was unconsciously looking forward to running together again starting from tomorrow morning.

---but, she swung her head to the side in panic when she saw Tooru’s apologetic expression.

“Th-there is no reason for Tooru-kun to apologize. See, it’s not like we promised to run together………a-and, you will show your face again soon since it’s only for a little while, right? Then, I will run as much as I can and become fast so I can surprise Tooru-kun, fufu”

Miyabi tried her best to smile and Tooru felt saved when he saw that expression.

“I get it. Alright, I look forward to that day………..the day Miyabi will make my laps slower than hers”

“-----E-eeeeeeeeeeeeh!? To-Tooru-kun, don’t make such an unreasonable demand<nowiki>～～～～</nowiki>”

The atmosphere flowing between them returned back to the usual lively one.

After a while from that, Miyabi would send her sights towards Tooru who was having fun talking to his friends several times during dinner and would make small sighs unconsciously each time.

(I see………..With Tomoe-chan, huh………..)

In the end, Miyabi did not get any appetite for today’s dinner and left it on the table.

The night cleared out and it became morning-----

Right in the promenade between the dormitory and the hall opposite, Tooru and Tomoe were facing each other.

“Well then, we will now begin the introduction of the techniques from the Tachibana style”

“I am counting on you, Tachibana-sensei”

“St-stop it, It’s true that I am going to be the one guiding but, I am still a novice so I can’t help but feel itchy if I am being called that.”

Tomoe scratched her cheek while looking embarrassed and troubled because of the joke made to the Tachibana style.

“I’ll say this before we start, the contents I am going to teach you are the basics, so plain and simple training will continue. I am sorry but, please prepare yourself for that. If you want a good sword then forge it from the ore, that is the guidance thought in the Tachibana-----“

“Haha, I got told the something close by my master before. Well, mine is a tree instead of a sword though”

When Tooru talked about the proverb he told to Miyabi before, Tomoe made a agreeing nod.

And at the same time, she had a favorable impression to Tooru who understood the importance of basics which are easily overlooked and forgotten even though it was a normal thing to do.

“Well then, let’s begin. First off please imitate my stances……………yes, like that. Then move your leg-----“

The guidance for the body movements started. Even though he was confused at first, Tooru immediately and made an understanding nod.

“------Uuun, I am able to understand the shape but, I have to make my body get familiarized to it to use it”

After he said that, Tomoe made a small smile while looking at Tooru who was repeating the moves he learned seriously, while somewhat having fun.

(Fufu, Looks like he will progress fast at this pace)

No matter what skills it may be, it takes time for the body to really get it. However, that time changes greatly based on the enthusiasm of the heart wanting to learn.

After a while, the guidance for the next technique-----the way of the eight style’s basics started.

“----------that’s about it. If you get used to it then you will be able to combine it with the first moves. I’ll show you an example. I will now get close to you and you thrust your fist out”

Tooru brought his forward towards Tomoe who got close like he was told------and at that moment, Tomoe suddenly spun her body and grabbed his arms before slipping into his chest area.

“And well, this is it. Normally, I will make a throw here. It’s probably also good to add an elbow strike here depending on the situation”

“………….This is the move I lost to during the <<Fist practice>> from a while ago. But I see now. The connection between attacking and blocking is amazing”

“It’s Ryuusui<ref group ="3a">Flowing water</ref>. Whether it’s the movements, way of performing, or attack, all of it will flow within as one. Okay, let’s try it out. I will bring my fist forward now, so you try doing the same”

Tooru nodded and dodged her fist similar to her and entered a throwing stance once he slipped into her chest area together with grabbing her hands but-----

He noticed.

Tomoe’s big and soft breasts touched his back.

“That’s right, that’s the feeling. Okay, let’s repeat that for 10 times. However, you can put more strength in your arm and pull harder this time”

Tooru’s face stiffened.

The breast behind him would press against him harder the stronger he pulls and makes him more conscious about it.

(Hu-hurry up and endddddddddd!!)

Tooru’s heart got chaotic from the soft feeling touching his back.

Tomoe thought this when she saw Tooru like that:

(Umu, it’s a good face. The spirit of wanting to acquire this move as fast as possible is visible on his face)

“………….okay, since we gone this way, let’s add in 10 more times!”

Tooru shouted in his heart at Tomoe’s suggestion.

Like that------Tachibana Tomoe deepens her relationship with Tooru through the guidance of martial arts.

There was someone looking at both of them from the tree shadows.

It was Miyabi.

She would normally be running outside the school in this time slot by now but, she got curious about Tooru and Tomoe today and took up an unfunny action of peeking like this.

(What am I doing…………)

Miyabi made sigh when she looked objectively at her actions.

Even though she was wondering why her eyes won’t leave them for some odd reason, she continued looking at the both of them without getting any answers and-----

“-----!!”

Suddenly, Tomoe hugged Tooru from the back.

---Of course, it was just a lecture of the combination of the move and the way of performing it and was completely unrelated to the male and female relationship but, Miyabi misunderstood that and took a big breath.

It was only when she saw Tooru and Tomoe’s position switched and performing the same------the action of repeatedly bringing their body closer and letting go, that she let go of the breath she had sucked in.

(O-oh I see………That was training…………)

<nowiki>*</nowiki>Dokun**dokun* her heartbeat coming from her chest got faster at the surprise.

She took a deep breath to calm it down as much as possible and slowly exhaled. She then repeated this.

Her heartbeat started to calm down and-----

“Haa……….”

Miyabi feelings sank together with that, and leaked a big sigh------she then mumbled this.

“How nice…………”

Those were her true thoughts she said unconsciously.

It was something pointed to the scenery of Tomoe------and Tooru bringing their body closer.

(Eh………?)

After she mumbled that, Miyabi was surprised at her own words.

(Why did I think 'how nice' just now……….?)

Miyabi got bewildered at her true thoughts that came out unconsciously.

It was impossible for her, until now, to think that hugging a male was enviable.

Rather, it was something enough to make her get embarrassed and look away when she saw males and females-----couples bringing their bodies closer in the city.

But even so, Miyabi continuing thinking why and------the answer came out.

The answer was shown from the words she said unconsciously.

Yes, Miyabi was envious of Tomoe. She understood herself for feeling envious of bringing her body close to none other than Tooru.

And to find what kind of emotion it was, Miyabi applied the knowledge she had in herself before----

(Ah-re…………? That’ means……….I, might have……..)

She got perplexed when she reached the answer.

However, the answer was shown to be correct by the throbbing heart she got just by hearing Tooru’s voice.

She wants to hear his voice more.

She wants to see his face more.

The embarrassment was enough to make her die but, she wanted to run to him and hug him.

No matter if Tooru is the first male friend she got close with, there is no way she would hold that kind of emotion for just a friend.

Miyabi mumbled this.

“So, I love-----Tooru-kun, huh…………..”

Like this-----Hotaka Miyabi became aware of her first love.

== Quick PDF/Doc version of OreImo for anyone interested: ==

== My impression about OreImo's series and Volume 12 Alone (AKA Translator's rant)==

Okay, I said it’s my impression about OreImo as a whole, but first, let me started from the beginning.

I got a friend. An online friend. Let’s call him RZ for now (so that I could make fun of him later). He is the one who showed me OreImo. But let’s talk about him now. He is working in Japan at the moment, in Square Enix if my memory is right. There is a rumor that his parents kicked him to another country (he is not Japanese) because he entered imouto route in real life. I don’t know how much of it is true, but there are few facts here:

1.	He said “Since my imouto is so beautiful, I feel absolutely nothing when I saw a beautiful girl on the street.”

2. He also said “As I stood in front of my imouto’s wardrobe, despite knowing that for the last ten years, she had nothing but white pantsu, yet I still opened it while hoping to see a different color, with green stripes, lace, black rims blah blah blah ... but in reality, I saw nothing but white pantsu and I felt like shit.

(Also, there is another rumor that his imouto is coming to Japan to live with him. And her favorite manga is Onii-chan control)

He is a guy like that. And one day, he wrote a troll-like review for OreImo, which he openly compared his life with Kyousuke. Thus I think “hell, this guy’s life is a comedy already, there is an anime with the same setting?” – and I watched OreImo (back then, I didn’t even know that it has a light novel)

The first things I like about OreImo was, of course – Kirino (surprised? Nah I guess not, I had openly admited that I’m a Kirino shipper many times before). The way she talked about eroge, anime, the happy expression she had on her face when she told Kyousuke about them. I envied that. True, my younger brother is an otaku too, I got some otaku friends myself (mostly online, but some offline too), but I had never seen someone looked so damn happy when talking about their hobby like that. I guess I started cheering for Kirino since that moment.

Some might say that Kirino is like a bitch in anime. I don’t agree. As an elder brother myself, I have been trainned since birth to protect my younger siblings (I turned my younger brother into an otaku, a gamer – Even better than me, so I guess I did a good job). So I was actually more annoy with how Kyousuke ignored Kirino. To me, Kirino’s tsun side is her way of trying to get Kyousuke’s attention. Why didn’t she? She had a lot to boast about: beauty, good grade and so… , yet Kyousuke ignored them? I saw it as a failure as an elder brother, but thankfully he is protective of her enough to balance it. And frankly, compared to other tsundere (Louise(FoZ) use a freaking whip and explosion, while Aria(HnA) used a gun/sword), Kirino treatment toward Kyousuke is quite light.

In later episode of season 1, when Kyousuke finally showed his brother instinct, I was all agree with him. To stand on your sibling’s side no matter what, this is what an elder brother supposed to do. Funny thought, when I saw him screamed ‘I LOVE MY LITTLE SISTER’ to Ayase, I immedialy checked the novel, and the way it stated that even he didn’t know what is he talking about lead me to believe that this is his subconscious speaking. That was the moment I started to ship both of them. The party at the episode 10 was so heart warming, to see both of them getting along fine after so long.

After that, I noticed the OreImo project on Baka-tsuki was almost stopped for god know how long. I tried to gather some member, but they can’t keep up with my speed. I get a chapter done in a week, but I need 2 more weeks to find someone to proofread them, and another 2 weeks to get their result (most of the time, it’s even longer). To tell the truth, I was discouraged back then. But I thought ‘hell, as if I care. I will translate them, no matter what.’. Then I meet GH-Basestone. He got the job done! He was my first real proofchecker. Thank you, GH-Basestone, for everything.

In later volume of light novel, especially volume 7 and forward, what I felt slowly changed. First, volume 7 confirmed my suspicious that Kirino did have romantic feeling toward Kyousuke, and Kyousuke unconsciously love her back. Her fake date is a way for her to enjoy spending time with him (too bad he ruined her mood at the end). And come volume 8. At first, I didn’t think much of Kuroneko. But reading their clumsy, full of mistake first love, first date brought a smile to my face. Her break up shocked me as much as everyone else. With later volume, when more and more girls joined in the fight, she is still my second favorite after Kirino. The scene when they broke up for real in volum 12 is heart breaking. It made me remember a familiar scene from Clannad, Kyou Fujibayashi’s route. They still love each others, but Kyousuke didn’t choose her. She tore up the Destiny Record, while Kyousuke forced himself to hold back his tear. This…this…damn…my eyes tears up a bit when I read it.

<b>Volume 12 Impression</b>

Originally, I intented to separate this part, but in the end, I guess I can’t give my impression of the whole series without giving my impression about the last volume. Well, for one thing, the Super-Kyousuke is good to read. It’s a bit frightening how far Kyousuke would go once he decided to do something. First, like with Kuroneko, he could translate Kirino’s words now. Secondly, the way he admited his feeling and break up with Kuroneko/Ayase, while painfully to read, is worthy of a man. And third, when Manami pressed him, he finally showed that he would go to whatever length nessassry to protect Kirino. Even Manami was taken back by this. He is, at long last, showed me how he earned Kirino’s respect, how many girls fall for him.

And Kirino’s reaction was heart warming. From the recording, we found out that Manami’s word three years ago had hit right on the mark. Kirino loves Kyousuke, maybe back then was only as a sibling. But since she was forced to hide it, she turned into a brocon, a big tsundere. Everytime that feeling resurfaced, everytime Kyousuke get affectionated with her, she both wanted and afraid of it at the same time. And thank for Kyousuke’s confession, for Ayase and Kuroneko’s pressing, she was able to let it out, to answer ‘Yes’ to a proposal. I like that scene. I really do.

Next is the wedding. Right, the wedding. The most important question that we all asked ourselves : What would they do next? Well, I think there is only one possible answer : they continued their relationship, maybe in a lesser degee, maybe in secret, who knows? Now, you asked why? There were several reason I believe they would continue loving each others.

First, they said they returned to normal sibling. What is their defination of ‘normal sibling’? Heck, maybe they might had different definations. Normal sibling, true, might not kissing each other. But getting jealous when the other had a boy/girlfriend? Yeah, that still counted as normal for them. So in eroge term, they had 99% full affection point.

Second, even if they returned to normal, many things will not simply disappear. The uniform that Kirino took from Kyousuke remained. The recording they heard together remained. And now they were even more aware of each other’s feeling. In my opinions, Kirino’s tsun side is her way of dealing with her feeling toward Kyousuke. In volume 9, she admited that this is abnormal. She knew that she shouldn’t feel this way, so she ended up deny everything, fearing the worst. But with Kyousuke returned her feeling, she has nothing to be afraid of anymore.

Third, Kyousuke cut off all of his escape routes. Kirino knew it. She knew that he did it for her, for her only. So dumping him completely now would be horrible, would hurted him beyond imagination. I doubted she would do that for someone she love.

Fourth, the limited time lover was their way to express their supressed feeling. However, their feeling also grew during that time. So I think that wouldn’t work. Instead, it brought them even closer.

Fifth, the epilogue. Kirino, acting all dere dere and asked for a ring. Seriously, a ring? With her money, she could buy everything herself, yet she asked for a ring? Especially a ring that can be used in public without risk? Added in the ‘life counseling’ keywork, the way she looked back and asked him to follow her, I bet they still love each other. Who knows? Siblings aren’t allowed to marry, but they had married. Maybe the law don’t accept it, but they did. Why do they even care?

All in all, OreImo is a great novel, a good anime. I like how everyone was shown with complex characteristic, with hidden depth and feeling. Even Kyousuke, as dense as he was, is a puzzle for himself. I realy enjoy reading it, enjoy watching it, enjoy translating it. To all of my reader, thank you for stay with me for so long. Thank you for reading it with me, enjoying it with me. To all of my editor - GH-Basestone, Kory, Rohan123, shift for helping me. I couldn't do it without you guys. Once again, thank you very much, everyone!
Thanks a lot Chaos for your continuous hard work over a long period of time in translating this novel, which has finally been completed today with you uploading the final chapter and epilogue. Now that you finished oreimo, I was wondering on what you are planning to do next? I wouldn't wish to impose anymore on you, by the way, because you worked hard enough. I am just curious.
:I plan to wait to finish Oreimo first, then ...well...no plan yet. Maybe I will try Onii-Ai or something like that.
Kyaaaaa! Incest for the win!

Oh no, please choose Omae Otaku as your next work, I love this series and like to read it in English~

Oh please, let the translator choose. This way its less likely for him to lose interest and drop it. -not that I disapprove, mind you...
I like Onii-ai, but for me I really want to read Maburaho and Dakara Boku H. [[User:Victorrama|Victorrama]] ([[User talk:Victorrama|talk]]) 10:03, 14 July 2013 (CDT)

It seems that, once we were swallowed by the mysterious giant fish, we were transported all the way to the Netherworld through a side Abyss Gate that exists under the sea.
… No, If I’m dreaming I want to wake up.
Though I’d like to think that all of this was a joke… It seems that the giant fish that swallowed us is a major mean of transport at the Netherworld to cross the underwater Abyss Gate.

From the start, it seems that this was the reason why Iris & Zonmi, having lived at the Netherworld for a long time, didn’t evade the attack of the giant fish.

But then… I still don’t have the feeling of “I came to the Netherworld”. It’s not that my personal image of the netherworld includes things like the “Mountain of Nails”<ref>A mountain with nails or spikes where repentants sit over to meditate, suffer and pay for their sins that supposedly exists in Hell according to Japanese Buddhist mythology.</ref> or the “Sea of Blood”<ref>Just that. It’s also a main spot of Japanese Hell.</ref>. Right now, if we take out part of the scenery<ref>I suppose he talks about the body-builder gulls.</ref>, it doesn’t seem to be many changes from the human world.

“Then… Where are Zonmi and the rest?”

If my memory serves right… I think both Zonmi and Kyouko were also swallowed by the fish.

Though I could call back Zonmi & Kyouko by summoning if I felt like it… It would be a pain if I left Manami out.

As I tried asking, feeling uneasy, Iris quietly snorted,

“… Thy worries are not required. If it’s them lasses, they are yonder, scrutinizing what bathing suit they shall change into.”

“… Is that so? If everyone is safe, that’s fine.”

That was close.

Had I summoned Zonmi and the rest while they were changing into their swimsuits… I can easily guess what follows.

“About bathing suits… Even though it’s the same what to change into… It seems they largely wanted to cater to thy affections.”

Mumbling unintelligibly, Iris added something.

Where Iris was looking at, there was a shed that seemed to be a beach hut.

… Guessing from her way of talking, do they run a swimsuit rental service on that hut?

“For saying that any one was fine, it seems you’ve chosen a cheekily cute swimsuit.”

“Nu…? Nunu!?”

As I jokingly told that, Iris reacted in a panicked fashion.

“T-thou…!! W-what hallucinations dost thou speak of!?

My choosing of this bathing suit… T-this one was simply the first I put my eyes unto… It certainly has no other meaning…”

“… N-no. I understand. Since I understand. Don’t glare at me like that…”

I wonder why she has denied it so vehemently.

Iris is, after all, a girl of that age (?).

Taking her time choosing her swimsuit… It’s nothing weird.

Rather, I think that would have been the normal thing…

“… Chiharu. Have you finally woken up?”

Along with the sound of the waves came a dignified '' alto '' <ref>Kind of voice lower than ''mezzosoprano'' and higher than ''tenor''. Known as ''contralto'' when referring to female and child voices, it’s the lowest pitch a woman can have (bar exceptional cases due to natural or artificial hormone disorders).</ref> voice.

“Uoh!?”

I unintentionally let out a high pitch cry.

Turning over my head, Zonmi, clad in a swimsuit, was standing next to me.

“O-oniichan. You woke up—♪”

“…’d grief. Till when would you keep sleeping.”

One after another, Kyouko (in a swimsuit) & Manami (in a swimsuit) also rushed to my side.

By the way, while we are at it, I’ll explain what kinds of swimsuits each of them are wearing—

Zonmi and Kyouko are wearing, respectively, a white bikini and a black one.

Zonmi’s swimsuit comes with a classy pareo, the neat feeling fits to a T with Zonmi’s honor student personality.

Kyouko’s swimsuit is a string bikini with the cloth area reduced to the extreme, signs of the efforts to release a bit of sexiness while concealing the body handicaps (like the bust size) can be seen.

About Manami, though it reaches the level of, if possible, no comments… It was a shell bikini made from three shell, on the smallish side (Japanese scallop?), that cover the breast and the nether regions. Deplorable.

“Uffu~n♪ How’s it—? Having taken the trouble of coming to the Netherworld, Manami has turned into a mermaid monster. Graah!! Graah, graah!!”

“…”

Manami mimicked sound was absolutely unlike any ones a mermaid would make.

The usual me would have made a retort in disgust, but… The current me didn’t have that composure.

“… Chiharu? Could it be that you are feeling unwell? In that case… You better rest under that tree’s shadow…”

“…”

“Haru? What’s the matter? Maybe coming to the Underworld has been such a shock—”

“I-it’s not like that, Kyouko-oneechan!? Look again!”

Manami opened her eyes round as if seeing an extremely astounding scene.

“Could it be… It may be the first time seeing this even for Manami… O-oniichan, are you crying for reals!?”

““… What?””

For an instant, Zonmi & Kyouko were left with their mouths agape and face of not knowing what’s what, but as soon as they realized I was, in fact, crying, their countenances clouded.

So.

As soon as I saw these chicks in swimsuits, recalling a trauma of mine, of all things, I started shedding manly tears.

“Say, girls… Could you keep quiet and listen to my story?”

Since, unusual of me, I started to speak in a serious mood, the four girls nodded in silence and waited for my words.

“That… Happened last summer.

Since the holidays were coming to an end without nothing happening, it was intolerable. With Youhei… We both went to the beach on the last day of summer.

On paper, the plan was to pick up girls.

However, let’s think camly about it.

When two dull male high school students whose history without girlfriend = their age, will they succeed in picking up girls?

No, even if they accept the challenge and without fail they suffer honorable defeat, I think that’s still one more page on the bitter memories of youth.

However, you know… What sadly happened was that we weren’t able to call out to a single girl. Without courage, we couldn’t even set foot on the match stage.

And so, you know? I made a promise with Youhei.

‘Next summer, surrounded by girls in swimsuits, we’ll live a rose-colored youth’, we promised.

Yohei… My… Our dream, I realized it.

How I wish you too… Could see this scenery.”

““““…””””

How was it, this trauma of mine deeper than the Mariana trench<ref>A submarine trench, 1,580 miles in length and with an average width of 43 miles, located near the Mariana Islands (the most known of them is Guam), halfway between Japan and Papua-New Guinea; it has the deepest known spot in Earth, Challenger Deep (30,069±131 ft; error mainly due to the magnitude of the measure plus differences in the tide level) and a non-confirmed deeper point of 6.85 miles.</ref> I’ve presented to you?

Being considerate with the seriousness of the mood (?) all of the girls remained silent.

… Nevertheless, that’s only natural.

Though I’ve come into contact once or twice with the girls’ pasts, this is the first time I talk about mine of my own volition with my own words.

“Hehe! My bad… Getting all melancholic over such a thing… Forget what I just said.”

Like that, putting an end to it with what I reckon are the coolest words, I suddenly noticed.

Looking at them, contrary to my expectations—.

“… Erm, excuse me. I don’t know how do I have to react before such an unfunny story told with a serious face…”

“… How do I put it, where was the emotive part in the story just now?”

“Oniichan, learn to read the mood…”

“What a folly, monster tamer…”

“Uh… wha…”

I’ve been told as they liked.

<nowiki>*GRRR</nowiki>* These wenches don’t understand.

The feelings of two male highschoolers who went to the beach trying to pick up girls, didn’t have to courage to call up to them and ended up without no other choice to spend the time but picking up jellyfish that were washed ashore inside a vinyl bag (true story).

“Well… Saying it with simple words, your swimsuits are excessively cute and the best. These are tears of joy.”

“…”

This is bad. Could it be I’ve dug my grave deeper?

The girls have once again become silent and have hung her heads down.

So it seems.

I may have talked without mincing words a little too much.

“… Moron. If it’s like that, don’t start talking nonsense…”

With her cheeks very red, the words of the sighing Kyouko cruelly resounded in my ears.

“I see. Exactly as rumored, a true ladykiller.”

“!?”

The one who suddenly intruded in our conversation was none other than the responsible of having brought us to the Netherworld just a while ago.

The young woman in maid clothes.

However, different from before, she had changed into a racing swimsuit.

… How weird.

Speaking of racing swimsuits with their low exposure, despite, if pushed, I’d say they give a plain image, worn by this person it’s charmingly sexy.

As I expected, is it because of her breasts? Is it due to her breasts?

“Excuse my late introduction. My name is Lilith.

I’m the succubus Lilith Artemisia.

Chiharu-sama. Firstly let me beg for forgiveness for my rudeness from a while ago. Excuse me.”

Why is it.

Certainly, it’s obvious that you should speak humbly when asking for forgiveness, but…

Is this what’s known as ‘businesslike’? In any case, I don’t think that her words are only a front.

“Chiharu. You don’t need to be so vigilant. It seems that that was her nature from the start.”

“… Is she trustworthy?”

“That… I also don’t know. However, at least it seems she hasn’t brought harm to us.”

“… Understood.”

I don’t know what has happened, but it seems that while I was out they discussed something.

“well, then, as originally agreed, I’ll borrow Chiharu-sama. Since I think it will take a while, you can go ahead and enjoy the beach for an hour.”

“Comprehended. Take care of that master of mine… No, of ours, I sincerely beg you.”

“…”

Somehow, now it seems I have to try asking Lilith-san about the circumstances.

With this and that, I—.

Guided by Lilith-san, my feet brought me to the cabin that Zonmi and the girls seemingly used to change clothes.

<center>× × ×</center>

The beach house (?) Lilith-san brought me to, as it displays a great variety of swimsuits, it seems that, as I thought, runs a swimsuit rental service.

Other than swimsuits, as it has facilities like lockers or shower rooms, here too, the standard structure doesn’t seem to be very different to a beach house from the human world.

The only thing that feels different, perhaps that there’s absolutely no one inside the cottage?

It’s only natural that I worry about that, but this shop’s management, how do they organize this?

Harboring this doubt, I entered the cabin alone with Lilith, and sand.

“What’s the matter? Could you please stop doing nothing but looking at my breasts? Want me to kill you?

“… Wha-what?”

Totally puzzled, what I received was a merciless threat that puts a stop to my thoughts from the girl over there.

“Could it be, do you think I didn’t notice?

Men are really the lowest. With the excuse that that’s part of my work, they ogle my breasts as if licking all over them…”

“…”

Eh… Wha…

What the heck?

This girl… The moment we were alone, it seems her mood has so questionably changed into this.

“Aah, I forgot saying that I’m bad with all ♂ [male] beings… Rather, they are what I hate most in the world. For that reason, when talking to a man, I end up behaving somewhat rude. Excuse me.”

“…”

I see.

=== '''Questions and Answers''' ===

Drop me a line in the comments section below. If I can't answer it, go ahead and take it to the Feedback Thread on the forums.
=== '''Comments'''===

In fact, the best thing you can do to thank us is to head on over to the Appreciation Thread in the Mahouka forums and tell us. do you know why these chapters seem shorter than the others?

:Format changes between volume to volume. For example, Volume 8 also had a high count of shorter chapters. [[User:Dreyakis|Dreyakis]] ([[User talk:Dreyakis#top|talk]]) 23:30, 8 December 2013 (CST)
Thanks a bunch for the translation of the new chapter. Well then, I'm off to read it.

Thanks for the newest chapter. Haha, I noticed the 212 was bold, that's a lot of pages.. good luck :D. Anyone kind of feel like Tatsuya was being overly cold towards Miyuki toward the end of the most recent chapter? I kind of wanted to slap him... --[[User:Ruckkus|Ruckkus]] ([[User talk:Ruckkus|talk]]) 13:12, 6 November 2013 (CST)
Thanks for all the work you've done! The world would be an emptier place without all your translations. You've really been working hard on chapter 15
Can't thank you enough for bringing Mahouka series into my life.

Christmas is earlier this year \o/ Thanks for another dose of Mahouka. Too bad these chapters are so short. Seems like this volume might be quite interesting with some intrigues behind the scenes.
Hello, and welcome!

That's enough of an introduction.
Simply put, I am an avid Light Novel reader and I greatly thank those who translate. Unfortunately, I do not have the funding to donate; however, my honor leaves me unsatisfied by my lack of contribution. So, in order to rectify this, I will utilize my English speaking skills to assist in editing where I can.

I am currently reading:
Campione! - Sparingly.
Gakuen Toshi Asterisk - Waiting patiently for another translation release.
Hyouka - See above.
Madan no Ou to Vanadis - Keeping up with the translations.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Hands down my favorite. Thanks especially to these translators.
Silver Cross and Draculea - Keeping up with the translations.
Tsurugi no Joou to Rakuin no Ko - Another good one that I am patiently waiting for.

I have read some of the others but these are really the ones that I am tracking. As I progress through reading, I will make minor adjustments where I see them. Otherwise, please let me know if there is a series that could use my assistance.

Thank you,
