After arriving at the Cathedral, the first thing Louise did was to greet Henrietta.

But for some reason, this Queen seems to be quite distracted. She only acknowledge it saying "Oh, just in time." Even why Louise and the others were summonned to this country in the first place was not explained. Hanreitta told Louise and Tiffania that the Pope his Holiness will explain later.

"Anyhow, the long journey must have tired you out. They have already prepared dinner. Please, enjoy yourselves first"

The dinner will be held in two different places.

Except for Saito, the Ondine Water Spirit Knights, Colbert, Kirche and Tabitha will share one room, while Louise, Tiffania and Saito will sit in the dining hall where the Pope will attend himself.

In the smaller room, they don't have a single waiter, letting them to do as they please. Luckily, the members of the Ondine Knights did not seem to mind this kind of treatment. They were all celebrating today's battle, laughing and chatting loudly all the way.

Kirche looked at Colbert by her side. Since arriving at this Cathedral, he seemed to have a lack of enthusiasm. Leaving the untouched dish in front of him, he rested his chin on his knuckles, immersed in deep thoughts.

"What's wrong? Here, does it taste bad?"

Kirche indicated her soup by stirring it with a spoon.

"This soup really is disgusting. Other than spinach, there's nothing else. Having this kind of priest like meal, it's my first experience."

"What's with the ruby? Are you, thinking about your ex?"

Originally meant to be a joke, Colbert nodded his head out of Kirche's surprise.

"Umm, just like that"

Kirche winced her eyes, and put a small cooked lobster on his head, although his was just as motionless. Not wanting other people to see her any more jealous, Kirche found someone else to talk to. At her side, Tabitha was eating expressionless.

"Hey, Tabitha. What do you think they are talking about at the dining hall?"

Tabitha slowly finished her cup of wine and answered

"Don't know"

On the other end of the corridor inside the dining hall, no one said of anything and kept putting food in their mouths in awkward silence. Louise was sitting next to Saito, whereas Tiffania was sitting on the other side of him.

Today's incident wasn't something Saito could easily let go. Every now and then, Saito would stare angrily at Julio, grinding his teeth and food, thinking "Huh, that bastard"

Tiffania nervously shrunk into her seat. Holding the fork and knife in her hand tightly, the plate served just now, she had not taken a single bite, already cut into an unknown number of pieces now.

In front of her is the one who called Louise and the others here, Henrietta.

"Julio that kid may be handsome but he has his irritating side, but this person is completely different. So these people do exist in the world" Saito relayed his thoughts to Louise back then.

After than the dinner began. The only words spoken so far were from Vittorio, all of them comforting words, but irrevelant to the case. Not being able to raise a question on her side, Louise uncomfortably calmed down her mind.

Louise jabbed the Saito beside her and said

""Because Miss Tiffania still does not possess a familiar, that will be 3 bearers, 2 familiars, and..."

Vittorio eyed the Founder's Prayer book lying beside Louise

"A secret treasure, two rings, all inside this room"

Jullio whispered softly in Vittorio's ear

"Ring, there is one more the can be counted"

The dining hall was filled with tension. In the middle of this stifiling air, Vittorio turned to Henrietta.

Henrietta's concerned face nodded deeply.

"Then, today, the reason for everyone's presence here is none other than what you are expecting. I hope you may all help me."

At this point, Henrietta opened her mouth and offered to continue for him.

"In this few thousand years of losing our holy hand, we were at a state of losing confidence. Our promised lands conquered by unfamiliar people, is unhealthy for the overall population. Losing confidence, we have been seeking cheap replacements. Pointless fights over countless lands, we have bled a lot unnecessarily."

Louise could not counter his statements. This is Halkengia's history.

"Reclaiming the promised lands. Revealing the legendary power. Only at this moment, our true confidence can come back to life. Only through this, we are able to construct our glorious future. When Halkengia is finally united, there will be no more wars."

Vittorio calmly spoke of the word "united". This is a word which has appeared often in countless Halkengia kings' dreams.

Louise's was swayed by these words. On the other hand, her instinct continued to tell her that there's a catch here somewhere. Before Louise was ablt to voice out her thoughts, Saito cut in,

Saito said apologetically,

"I, my, I'm not too smart, therefore what your Holiness said, I do not quite understand it. From what I hear, your meaning is that we should pick up our swords, and threaten them to take the land back, is that what you meant?"

"Yes. It's just that. Not very different from what you said."

Vittorio decisively confirmed Saito's description.

"How could we, just because they are elves (foreingers), then these things are permitted? I really don't think this will result in anything good."

But that was only under normal circumstances. Now we are talking about void, with all sorts of magical weapons flying around on the battle field, how useful can he be?

And it doesn't end here, Tiffania is only capable of using one spell. The effects may be strong, but it is not a spell one can apply directly on the battlefield. As for Vittorio's power, no one knows. Perhaps he may be very powerful, but Louise just can't imagine how much battle experience this soft and gentle Pope has. In a battle, the spell's power is everything, becuase if one has enough experience, even a dot level mage can defeat a triangle mage.

In comparison, although there are only 2 people as the enemy, their true power is still unknown.

The dining hall was filled with tension. In the middle of this stifiling air, Vittorio turned to Henrietta.

"Help in?"

At this point, Henrietta opened her mouth and offered to continue for him.

After Saito and Louise had finished listening to what Henrietta had to say, they widened their eyes at this ridiculous task. Eventually returning to reality, Louise opened her mouth and said,

"Anyhow, what your Majesty is trying to say is, to use our power, and to reclaim the holy land back from the elves' hands? How is this different from the Reconquista people?"

"No, it's not like that, Louise. It's to discuss. War is foolish. Both of you have made me realise this point."

"Then, why must we reclaim the holy land?"

This time Vittorio cut in,

"It's because that place is where we belong. Why do wars exists? Why do the governors of this world, us, sheepishly declare war with different clans? Simpily said, this state exists because of the loss of our destined land."

Vittorio's calm voice stands out from the rest and he continued,

"In this few thousand years of losing our holy hand, we were at a state of losing confidence. Our promised lands conquered by unfamiliar people, is unhealthy for the overall population. Losing confidence, we have been seeking cheap replacements. Pointless fights over countless lands, we have bled a lot unnecessarily."

Louise could not counter his statements. This is Halkengia's history.

"Reclaiming the promised lands. Revealing the legendary power. Only at this moment, our true confidence can come back to life. Only through this, we are able to construct our glorious future. When Halkengia is finally united, there will be no more wars."

Vittorio calmly spoke of the word "united". This is a word which has appeared often in countless Halkengia kings' dreams.

United.

"As the desendents of our Founder Brimir, everyone of us, in front of God and Founder himself are all brothers and sisters."

Louise's was swayed by these words. On the other hand, her instinct continued to tell her that there's a catch here somewhere. Before Louise was ablt to voice out her thoughts, Saito cut in,

"Then, may I speak of a few words? Your Holiness."

"Please do."

Saito said apologetically,

"I, my, I'm not too smart, therefore what your Holiness said, I do not quite understand it. From what I hear, your meaning is that we should pick up our swords, and threaten them to take the land back, is that what you meant?"

"Yes. It's just that. Not very different from what you said."

Vittorio decisively confirmed Saito's description.

"How could we, just because they are elves (foreingers), then these things are permitted? I really don't think this will result in anything good."

"We believe to bless every single person is too arrogant."

Vittorio straightfowardly replied.

"My hands are small. These hands which God gave me, if I were to use them to care for every single creature in this world, then it would not be enough. I am a believer in Brimir. Therefore the first ones I should bless is Romalian pilgrims for their well-being. Am I wrong in doing so?"

"I don't think you are wrong. But...."

Saito paused a while for his brain to process. Henrietta opened her mouth, as if to persuade Saito to change his mind, and said,

"Saito. I also considered it thoroughly myself, and also agree with the Pope's wishes. I have sheepishly triggered a pointless war before, but I do not wish for history to repeat itself again. this is what I think. If you can use your power to stop a war, then I believe that is also a kind of justice."

"I refuse."

Saito made himself clear.

"Saito..."

Henrietta seemed to have someelse to say, but Saito unerringly shook his head.

"Doing these things is too despicable! Tiffania sitting here, has elven blood flowing in her right now. I do not want to do anything similar to threatening Tiffania's mother"

Tiffania bit her lips. Although she has been thinking a lot, she believed there was no place for her to talk.

Henrietta stood up and walked next to Tiffania's side.

"Greetings, Tiffania. I am your cousin Henrietta"

She said, holding Tiffania's hands.

Tiffania helplessly answered

"Cousin"

"That's right. Your father Duke '''Montaru(蒙特)''' (Prince '''Othomont (奧布蒙特)'''), not only was he the previous King of Albion, but also the brother of our last Tristain King Henry. Which goes and say, you are my cousin."

Henrietta hugged Tiffania tightly.

"Ohh, my lovely cousin. I am sorry to remind you of all your painful memories. I also hope that you will forgive me for not being able to announce this fact to the public."

Tiffania hugged her only relative back, tears dropping form her eyes uncontrollably. The dining hall was veiled by silence momentarily. But then, through sobs, Tiffania still asked Henrietta

"Your Majesty. Are you going to fight with my mother's clan?"

"It's not like that. We just want to tell them peacefully, to return that land to us. After all, that land was originally ours. I was hoping, during the discussion, the blood that's flowing through you will become a bridge never before between us and them."

Tiffania hung her head, then softly replied,

"I, really do not understand difficult things. But, if my power can be of help to everyone, I believe, that there is nothing more more joyful that this."

"You are willing to help us?"

Tiffania turned to the surprised Saito.

"If Saito, says so, then I would also help. It is Saito who brought me to the world outside. If Saito decides to do so, then I am also willing to follow."

"Saito..."

Henrietta looked at Saito, almost begging. Seeing Henrietta like this, his determination was slightly swayed, but in the end, he still couldn't accept it.

"I am sorry. Your Holiness and your Majesty's ideals are very attractive. But I do not want to use Louise's and my power because of this"

"Louise, what do you think?"

Henrietta turned to Louise in despair....

Louise was confused.

What Henrietta and Vittorio have said are undoubtly correct.

She is also one of the Halkengia's nobles.

It must be the same for elves, all sorts of elves. There are bad elves, as well as good elves. Through Saito and Tiffania's conversation, Louise also thought this way.

Conveying Louise's silent response, Henrietta gave a smile, nodded her head and said,

"Most certainly, it may be a very difficult choice for you to make. But, it is a choice you have to choose eventually. Before you are certain, I hope that you will not forget, the meaning of the cape kept in your mother's possession. The marks stiched on it, are not decorations. Those marks represent the responsibility for Tristain's future, as well as the entire Halkengia's future."

Yet even after Henrietta have said so, Louise was still motionless. Something is rejecting this idea in her mind.

Henrietta turned again to Saito.

"You too, are fighting for Louise's sake, aren't you? To save the person you treasure most, you will do whatever you need to. I too am the same. I cannot stand the conflicts between people. Therefore, I will also do what I must."

"For this, you do not care what happens to the elves?"

Hearing Saito's question, Henrietta nodded her head.

"I am Queen of a country of humans. Same as his Holiness, there is a limit to what my hand can cover."

These words because a powerful duet.

Vittorio said uncaringly,

Pausing in between, Vittorio said with force,

That's right. Gallia's void user and his familiar has always had their eyes on Louise and the other bearers.

Also, undoubtly, under the shadows of the Gallian King Joseph and his familiar, they are using powerful elves. For the elves to help this side is relatively impossible.

To everyone's surprise, Vittorio laughed.

"Of course, I have my own way to solve this problem. It is excatly because of this I made this meeting here."

"What do we do?"

"In 3 days, my third anneversary coronation ceremonty will be held. Right at the city near Gallian borders, the city of Aquileia. Of course, the Gallican King will also attend."

Only if all three of us congregate together, he will commence his attacks."

"Then, how are you prepared for it?"

Intrigued, Saito asked further on.

"Saito!"

Louise angrily bellowed with lazer eyes focused on Saito.

"How is this bad. Just now I may have refused, but this is a different matter and I agree with it. The arrogance in that Gallian King, I have long dispised. Not only did he brutally attack us, but also did such unforgivable things to Tabitha. I will never forgive him. If we are going to kill him eventually, it's better to do it as early as possible."

Saito's words made a pleased Vittorio nod,

"I fear he will send his familiar first. It's that Myozunitonirun you have encountered a few times before. That woman who uses magical items."

"I suppose."

"We must capture Myozunitonirun with all our force, but must not kill her."

"What is that?"

"If we kill her, then Joseph can summon another familiar again. Must capture her alive, keep her alive. This way, the Gallican void user cannot summon another familiar. Without a familiar, that void user's power will decrease by a half. It will be a great chance for us to then go and negotiage, dropping his title as a king once in for all. After that happens, it might even be possible for your friend to take the throne."

"This is great! Let's do it then!"

Henrietta looked at Saito with trust. Julio joined in and laughed. Tiffania nodded her head.

Yet, only Louise was shaking her head alone.

"I refuse."

"Why!"

Saito looked at Louise, not understand why. Louise was astonished by their optimism, as well as at her boiling point. Despite there are 3 void bearers in this room, there are only 2 familiars, Saito and Julio. Besides, Julio is Windalfr. Even if he can control excellent beasts, between the battle of familiars they are still at a slight disadvantage, no?

Yes, in the eyes of that Albion dragon knight, Saito may be very used to fights.

But that was only under normal circumstances. Now we are talking about void, with all sorts of magical weapons flying around on the battle field, how useful can he be?

And it doesn't end here, Tiffania is only capable of using one spell. The effects may be strong, but it is not a spell one can apply directly on the battlefield. As for Vittorio's power, no one knows. Perhaps he may be very powerful, but Louise just can't imagine how much battle experience this soft and gentle Pope has. In a battle, the spell's power is everything, becuase if one has enough experience, even a dot level mage can defeat a triangle mage.

In comparison, although there are only 2 people as the enemy, their true power is still unknown.

The Myozunitonirun capable of controlling any magical weapon.

With the help on the frightening nature's power that elves own.

Louise may not have lost before, but she cannot win either.

No, the reason Louise may have survived through all of this, could only be her luck.

There is also the possibility that the enemy have not unveiled her true power yet.

Remebering the Golomonta some time ago, Louise shuddered. To defeat one was already tricky enough. What if they had 5?

No matter how, Louise does not agree that they victory is possible.

"Just by facing Myozunitonirun alone has been difficult enoug. I cannot imagine how tough it would be when she's accompanied by another void user. It's too dangerous. We must be more careful."

"We need courage. Courage capable of changing our current state. We must end this before the enemy obtains even greater power."

Vittorio pointed out.

"Louise, I think his Holiness is right."

''You idiot!'' Louise blamed Saito in her thoughts. ''We may have 5 people over here, but the one fighting the most isn't yourself?''

''Actually, it's only Saito himself''

Saito must fight alone to buy time for Louise to chant her spells. Facing enemies with all their power alone.

But, these words did not come out.

If it was said out loud, then most would think that the master is putting himself/herself's safety first. Willing to become bait himself, for a Pope daring enough to say this, Vittorio should be the first. Since the Pope already decided it, nobles who disagree with him shouldn't be nobles at all. Even for Romalia Pilgrims, even as a heretic, there really is nothing to disagree with.

Louise's tome was in pain, but should could not say any words of rejections.

"Even though, I still disagree. I cannot let the Pope's body be exposed to the danger of this plan."

Vittorio continues to smile and said,

"That's alright, you would not agree to a suggestion as sudden as this immediately. PLease take your time to consider it. You will slowly change your point of view and see that I am right."

Alright, it looks like every "Tooyama" has been changed to "Tohyama", so I think we are good. Also, while checking, I noticed in volume 3 that Kinichi has an apostrophe (Kin'ichi), and I was wondering if that was a mistake or if it was cause of an accent or a different translation. Ah, when the kanji or whatever ends with the character ん or ン (n), the ' is used to denote it as such. Think about it this way, you can have kin-ichi, or kini-chi. See the difference? The ' is used to make it clear that the 'n' is its own character. However, when romanizing, it isn't always necessary. That's the thing about romaji. Is that the translation you get? Whats the original text? What's the Romaji? "No" was just a Japanese particle without any meaning right? At least we dont have a "no" in our language, that I am aware of. What is the description of this Magi no Figur? If this really were German I would say it should be Magiefigur (or Magie-Figur) which would be in English Magic Figure, but that would be a noun I never heard so like that. In German we would it probably paraphrase it as "magische Erscheinung". Alright, it looks like every "Tooyama" has been changed to "Tohyama", so I think we are good. Also, while checking, I noticed in volume 3 that Kinichi has an apostrophe (Kin'ichi), and I was wondering if that was a mistake or if it was cause of an accent or a different translation. Ah, when the kanji or whatever ends with the character ん or ン (n), the ' is used to denote it as such. Think about it this way, you can have kin-ichi, or kini-chi. See the difference? The ' is used to make it clear that the 'n' is its own character. However, when romanizing, it isn't always necessary. That's the thing about romaji. Is that the translation you get? Whats the original text? What's the Romaji? "No" was just a Japanese particle without any meaning right? At least we dont have a "no" in our language, that I am aware of. What is the description of this Magi no Figur? If this really were German I would say it should be Magiefigur (or Magie-Figur) which would be in English Magic Figure, but that would be a noun I never heard so like that. The following dawn after the two continuous battles with Watson and Hilda--

I woke up from a long bench in front of Butei Hospital's ICU.

Seeing the clear blue skies outside the window, the rain seems to have stopped.

(My whole body... hurts like hell...)

When in Hysteria mode, I am able to perform tasks that far exceeds the limits of my body. Especially since I used Ouka, Slash and Mirror Shot, 3 skills in all last night. So it's pretty much expected that my entire body will be aching.

I slowly sat up, and noticed that the light was still on for the "In Operation" sign above the ICU door.

(Riko...)

Feeling worried, I felt the urge to barge in to see...

"Meow-chuu!" Sleeping on the long bench beside mine, Aria woke up like a kitten which had just sneezed.

"Erm... Kinji... Where's Ri.. Riko?"

Sitting up suddenly, Aria noticed the "In Operation" sign lit up in red light, and stopped talking.

When Riko got to the First Observation Deck, her heart had already stopped beating.

Leaving the resuscitation to Aria, I hurriedly took the now-functioning elevator down to the ground level... Using a public phone, I managed to get a helipcopter from Logi, and help arrived 20 minutes later.

Since there was a precedent case of someone being revived after the heart had stopped beating for 4 minutes, I cannot give up as well--using the phrases I learn in Assault to encourage myself as I made my way back to the observation deck--

--Watson was giving medical aid to Riko.

Being a doctor, Watson made Riko consume a drug which she uses to fake "death" in order to escape, causing Riko to temporarily slip into a state of apparent death... She seems to have done the same for Hilda, who, had fallen from the Second Observation Deck to the First Observation Deck. Hilda had suffered extensive burn injuries, fallen from a height of over 100 meters... but she was still alive. She wasn't moving at all, and it wouldn't be much of a surprise if she died at any moment.

Watson suggested sending both of them, whom are on the brink of death, back to Butei Hospital--

We borrowed Watson's Porsche, and sped back to Butei High in the dead of the night.

Claiming to have gotten an International Driving Licence, Aria's driving was terrible. Maybe it was because she was worried about Riko, and the anxiety had affected her....

Just as I was recalling the events from the previous night--the light went out from the "In Operation" sign,

In a fluster, Aria and myself entered the ICU which was filled with countless drugs and medical equipment.

"Riko...."

Aria spoke as she ran to Riko's hospital bed--

Riko was half sitting up on the bed.

She seemed to be in a bit of a stupor... This is really great. Riko has been saved!

"Riko! Riko! ...I thought you really died!"

Wanting to pounce onto Riko, Aria was stopped by Watson.

Looking around me, I discovered that there was no one else in the ICU besides our group.

".....So did you remove the poison in her body, Watson."

"I couldn't have done it alone, but thanks to the assistance from Ambulace's Yatsuro-sensei, it was a success. She's really a genius. The deadly poison didn't even make her break a sweat."

"Erin Yatsuro-sensei, she doesn't seem to be here....?"

"I've asked her to leave for a moment. I have to speak with all of you about something."

"Fuhhh--" Exhausted from working overnight, Watson took off the surgical mask and let out a deep breath.

I walked to the side of the bed, trying to look at Riko's condition....

But Riko lowered her head, as if trying to avoid me.

"Riko.....?"

I thought she would be happy to have survived this... What's going on.

We stayed silent like this for a while--

"Kinji... Aria... I'm... very ashamed."

Riko was talking softly, using the "Dark Riko" way of speaking.

"I obeyed Hilda's orders to trick Kinji. And I even stood by and almost did nothing when Aria was in peril. But both of you pushovers still.... forgave me. That time, I wanted to repay my debt of gratitude. So, during the explosive bubble attack.... I was determined to use my life to repay this debt. I really wanted to use my death as payment--but in the end I still shamelessly prolonged my feeble existence and survived..."

Riko's voice was trembling from remorse.

Hey.... Hey hey...

Seriously, no matter when, her sense of pride is always so strong.

"....Riko, you've been very brave."

After hearing what Riko said, Aria... replied with a serious expression on her face.

"I thought you would have definitely said something like 'I'm saved, thanks--', and then become evasive about matters concerning Hilda. But now, you've honestly told us what you were really thinking, you really are very brave."

Aria's camellia eyes were looking straight at Riko--

Having slightly withdrawn back into herself, Riko looked back at Aria.... then with a bit of shyness shifted her gaze away.

"Aria, Kinji.... I will definitely repay your kindness..."

Her voice was still trembling... but this time, her words felt like it carried tears of joy.

Hearing what Riko said, Aria suddenly felt embarrassed, and with a awkward look on her face, she whispered to me "Hey, you should say something too!"....

"Ahhh--ermm... Yesterday's.... I was only concerned about fighting. As for something like repaying us or not, don't worry about it."

"Is that all!" Aria angrily told me as I finished what I wanted to say.

It, it can't be helped. I'm not in Hysteria mode now.

I have no way of coming up with honeyed words to comfort girls on the verge of tears.

The atmosphere was becoming awkward.... Because Aria kept staring at me, I had no choice but to say something.

"Ahh--just to be prudent, I need to ask you something. Those guys.... do they have any more vampire comrades?"

".....Vlad's wife has died from an illness. They aren't like what you see in comics where they can bite people to increase their numbers, there's only the two of them."

"I see, Then... you can breath a sigh of relief now. That's really great."

The normal me can only talk about normal things like these.

Listening to me, Riko slightly nodded her head as if agreeing.

"Yes.... up till now, somewhere in my heart, Vlad and Hilda has always been confining me. Because I wanted to break free, I have always been fighting. But, when they were gone.... I became free.... But yet, I feel uneasy now...."

"Uneasy?"

"I was referring to what I should do from now on...."

"What an extravagant worry. All you have to do is just be carefree like the Riko we always know."

To me, discussing with girls about their worries is more challenging than taking the entrance exams to Tokyo University.

Hence, the words I said were very neutral. But Riko seemed to like what I said... she started to chuckle.

"Yeah. Like Riko... right."

"Ah. That's to say 'Riko must be the real Riko'. This is the true meaning for you."

"Uhn Uhn" Riko nodded her head, acknowledging the matter-of-fact words from the normal me.

Her head was still lowered... although her cheeks seemed to be reddening.

It's probably the after-effects of the poison, or it could be due to fever.

It will be too pitiful if Riko has to continue listening to my poor speeches.

Aria was telling me with her expression "Well done", so now is the time to retreat.

"Well... take good care of yourself now."

Just as we were about to move out of the room, Watson stopped us--

"Well, taking this opportunity while you all are re-establishing your close relationships, I have one thing to say."

"One thing...?"

"It's concerning Hilda."

Ah, there were so many things going on, I forgot about this one.

Hilda... What is it about?

"I'll say this upfront, I'm both a Butei and a Doctor. Even if it's the enemy, once the battle is over, I do not make any discrimination among the wounded. I won't continue to harass them for beatings, and I do not differentiate between personalities, nationalities or types of humans when rendering medical aid.

Forget it. Hilda does have the appearance of a human anyway.

Having her entire body burnt by flames, you can say Hilda got what she deserved from her own actions... She was bandaged like a mummy, and there was casts on her arms and legs which appeared to have suffered broken bones. It was really a pitiful sight.

...Then again, she's actually still alive while in this condition, no wonder she's a vampire.

A Rosario was placed on her chest, and on closer inspection, I discovered that a seal ''"Anti Ki-Barai-Kekkai area"'', was written on the surface. I'm not too sure of the details, but it seems the item was used to keep Hilda safe while she was in the magical barrier set up by Tamamo.

"Just to add on, this is my first time stitching up Demon Entrails, so I was unable to perform it flawlessly... plus, I was forced to cut out several tissues within. But I won't be performing this surgery in vain, I swear to use them as research material to create a drug to inhibit the functions of Demon Entrails--a serum to hinder vampires!"

Doctor Watson, you talk too much.

What were you trying to tell us from the start.

"However... since daybreak, her physical appearance has started to worsen. The main reason is due to insufficient blood. When I arrived here I ran some checks on Hilda's blood type. She has the Rhesus--River B blood type, a rare blood type which only 1 person in 1,700,000 people have. The only place in the world which stocks this blood type is the Blood Bank in Singapore, but getting it here will take 2 days. So.... I'm afraid Hilda might not live past today."

Knowing that such a troublesome adversary is about to die... I had a sudden urge to save her.

Thinking like this, maybe I'm really a pushover like Hilda said.

"Can't we do anything about it?"

Aria, an even greater pushover than me, asked Watson.

"If there is someone with the same blood type here, she can still be saved..."

Saying this, Watson, for some reason, looked over at Riko.

"Her blood type is the same as mine. And because we have the same blood type, Vlad refuses to give me up."

After a moment of silence, Riko closed her eyes and said without any expression on her face.

(So that's how it is. This explains why Vlad was so stubbornly after Riko.)

Actually, I have been puzzled by this for quite some time. If you are looking for humans who possesses superior genes, there's plenty of such people throughout the world. If you want the DNA, all you require is simply a strand of hair.

But all Vlad wants to do is simply have Riko at his side--this mystery has finally been solved.

To Vlad, Riko--possesses both superior genes and the same rare blood type as the vampires. Hence, having Riko equates to killing two birds with one stone.

But Hilda seems to be unaware of this.

Although it's a character simulation, but there's actually a girl bringing a boy to her room, and both of them are sitting on the bed.

She obviously hasn't realized the seriousness of the situation.

We had finally put the "actions to take when about to fall" lessons learnt in Assault to actual use.

In the crook of my arm, Watson lifted her eyes and stared at me....

:- It's intentional. In case you haven't noticed, Kagami's style is to fragment and repeat phrases to '''deliver a stronger emphasis'''. This makes it harder to translate to natural English. If I change it by stripping it off, Kagami's style is lost, but more important than that, the emphasis is lost. Besides, even in Japanese, it's not exactly natural; it just feels, erm, 'unique' is the word. I will keep it as I like the style, and not to mention that there will be a lot of places that would need alterations. Though if this gets a lot of readers and the majority wants it otherwise, I will then consider changing it at the expense of the author's style, provided that the same emphasis, when important, can be achieved in another way through natural English. Or perhaps, ellipses can be used to replace that comma? Though so far, based on my denyuuden experience, the readers I'm in contact with prefer his style to be kept.
