==Story Synopsis==
The story is set in a parallel world to original Fate/stay night where the Grail was removed from Fuyuki City after the Third War and thus events of Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero never happened. It focuses on the conflict between the two opposing factions. Red and Black, each summoning seven Servants, and the Grail itself summoning a special Ruler-class servant as a mediator of the Holy Grail War. The Red faction members were sent by the Clock Tower Mage's Association, while the Black faction members are part of a Romanian group called Yggdmillennia.

Hello, today i was going to download 3 volume of index, but i found out that all the pdf are gone, so can you reupload at least this 3 volume? I've try to find them somewhere else but i found only older versions, and i really want to have the newest bc i print them [only for myself not for sale or anything, i just prefer classic book type than e-book or something like that]

Speaking of the British/American English issue, the reason why I wanted to set it as British English for default would be mainly because many of the characters are from England or has links with Necessarius (Like Index, Stiyl, Kaori, Motoharu, Aleister). It is just a matter of applying them when necessary, since it will be weird to see someone like say, the President in NT3 or Etzali, use British English in this setting. There was no discussion page on this, but this is, in general, what most editors are trying to do. We're trying to bring the novels (at least the Index novels anyways) as close to a genuine Anglo-Saxon book format.

Thanks for catching some of my mistakes. I also noticed you're going after the magic/magical books --> grimoires. Just fyi that there are also a few "magic/magical text"s that probably should also be changed to grimoire (I noticed those four forms and was pretty sure should be changed, but decided not to at the time because I didn't have it on my original list). And since you also did an Original/original, I'll just mention that's one that I decided not to do halfway through my edits (even though it was on my list), so that's still scattered throughout the series. For the mistakes you caught, I checked to make sure I didn't have any other mistakes of the same form (of course probability-wise, their are probably still a few other kinds of mistakes). Also, let me know if you make it through reviewing all of my edits. I just finished whats been translated of Kamisu Reina and I really enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of Usamaru Furuya's Suicide Club: http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=3439

I loved Hakomari and reading this work of Mikage really reinforced why I enjoy his work. He's incredibly good at understanding and conveying a character's internal conflict, and he does it by personifying abstract concepts into these mysterious omnipotent beings: Kamisu Reina and O respectively. I get a great tingling sensation when he finally reveals his hand, like at the end of volume 5 of Hakomari. Kamisu Reina's idea of having a phenomenon exist that gives suicidical teenagers that last push they need to finally do it is really interesting. In each of the three stories, Kamisu Reina pushes each of them over the threshold, not by making them despair, but by showing them hope in suicide. I guess she also embodies the suicider's hope for an orderly world, as in chapter 2 and 3 where both characters see her as an answer to why they had to suffer. You could go so many different ways with Mikage's concepts and I really enjoyed Kamisu Reina because of it.

Well, basicly, first thing is leveling, to level down blacks the way they are supposed to, also i applied a pre-made script (i use it when editing manga) to dedust blacks and whites in the image. Well my reply wasn't the most curtous one, reason being yours, was just rude. Something that works for you and your browser, and it looks good on your browser resolution, settings, addons, isn't neccessarily something that's the best solution for everyone. Most of the people just see mess instead, me being an example, having the image nearly overlap with the chapter titles, being the cause of my reaction and editing it. Baka-Tsuki is a portal allowing you to post your translations, a free space, and also free assistance when it comes to editing your translations, to make sure it's top quality, by dedicated or patrolling editors. But it also has some rules to make sure readability is at it's best, and it's neat-and-clean. Best way to ensure everything is as it should be, is to study how supervisors of the major projects did format their pages, examples being zzhk, KuroiHikari, Code-Zero, and their project pages, like HsDxD, Campione or ToAru. --[[User:Krytyk|Krytyk]] ([[User talk:Krytyk#top|talk]]) 10:48, 24 November 2013 (CST)

The image being next to the chapter titles is intentional, a better example of the pros of the code can be seen on Oda Nobuna (DE). It scales with lower resolutions, so there is no problem with that. Browser-wise there isn't any problem, either. The code is completely based on wikimedia code. If it doesn't work on a computer, wikimedia itself doesn't. The code being "messy" from your point of view is possible, it's still neat when executed, though. It can be explained what and how it does, what it does. As the sites are either being supervised or "managed" with supervisor approval by me, makes it unproblematic to edit. Major edits, anyway, should be approved by the supervisors in prior, which is in this case either inaban or me. Furthermore the code itself does not "revolutionize", but "evolutionize" the view system, not displaying any hard break with the usual "freaking ugly wide-screen view" code (quote from forum) of the original version. There is no reason to change the code except for the supervisor being against it or willful. Another matter is that I went through the forums and didn't find a guideline on how pages ''have'' to look. So I assume basically they have to be mostly similar in looking, but not exactly the same (as example Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei running without any volume covers). Your problem being the cover image being too close to the chapter titles can be edited, by the way. The distance between the chapter titles and the image is flexible. I just deemed it good-looking this way (so did inaban). I just moved it aside by 100 px to show my point. However, I don't see any reason to have the picture on the other side of the screen, when it's related to the volume. If you don't bother looking at Oda Nobuna (DE): The code manages to show two volumes next to each other (could be any number, but it complicates the code further) and scales with resolution, meaning it breaks the two volumes, which are next to each other, up and puts some under each other. Well, basicly, first thing is leveling, to level down blacks the way they are supposed to, also i applied a pre-made script (i use it when editing manga) to dedust blacks and whites in the image. Well my reply wasn't the most curtous one, reason being yours, was just rude. Something that works for you and your browser, and it looks good on your browser resolution, settings, addons, isn't neccessarily something that's the best solution for everyone. Most of the people just see mess instead, me being an example, having the image nearly overlap with the chapter titles, being the cause of my reaction and editing it. Baka-Tsuki is a portal allowing you to post your translations, a free space, and also free assistance when it comes to editing your translations, to make sure it's top quality, by dedicated or patrolling editors. But it also has some rules to make sure readability is at it's best, and it's neat-and-clean. Best way to ensure everything is as it should be, is to study how supervisors of the major projects did format their pages, examples being zzhk, KuroiHikari, Code-Zero, and their project pages, like HsDxD, Campione or ToAru. --[[User:Krytyk|Krytyk]] ([[User talk:Krytyk#top|talk]]) 10:48, 24 November 2013 (CST)

The image being next to the chapter titles is intentional, a better example of the pros of the code can be seen on Oda Nobuna (DE). It scales with lower resolutions, so there is no problem with that. Browser-wise there isn't any problem, either. The code is completely based on wikimedia code. If it doesn't work on a computer, wikimedia itself doesn't. The code being "messy" from your point of view is possible, it's still neat when executed, though. It can be explained what and how it does, what it does. As the sites are either being supervised or "managed" with supervisor approval by me, makes it unproblematic to edit. Major edits, anyway, should be approved by the supervisors in prior, which is in this case either inaban or me. Furthermore the code itself does not "revolutionize", but "evolutionize" the view system, not displaying any hard break with the usual "freaking ugly wide-screen view" code (quote from forum) of the original version. There is no reason to change the code except for the supervisor being against it or willful. Another matter is that I went through the forums and didn't find a guideline on how pages ''have'' to look. So I assume basically they have to be mostly similar in looking, but not exactly the same (as example Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei running without any volume covers). Your problem being the cover image being too close to the chapter titles can be edited, by the way. The distance between the chapter titles and the image is flexible. I just deemed it good-looking this way (so did inaban). I just moved it aside by 100 px to show my point. However, I don't see any reason to have the picture on the other side of the screen, when it's related to the volume. If you don't bother looking at Oda Nobuna (DE): The code manages to show two volumes next to each other (could be any number, but it complicates the code further) and scales with resolution, meaning it breaks the two volumes, which are next to each other, up and puts some under each other. The brackets around GROUP were probably meant to emulate the Japanese-style quotation marks 『』 used in the novels, but they aren't really necessary. The Japanese like to put things in quotation marks to distinguish them in the same way capitalizing the word is sometimes used in English (e.g. Esper names like Meltdowner and AIM Stalker are put in quotes in the novels.) I used to puts things in quotes excessively in my translations because I was copying the Japanese usage, but I stopped recently.

Just my personal opinion here as a reader, I think the current format the translator uses is good enough, I think that most readers can easily get the context of the speech being thought, whispers etc. from inferring or the context has already been mentioned in the text. Unfortunately, I have no idea what to tell you. Due to the way I learned Japanese, # of kanji known means nothing to me. I couldn't tell you how many I know or how many you need to know for a LN. You say you have been studying Japanese for several months, so my guess is you are not ready. It took me several years to be proficient enough to read a LN comfortably. Still, the only way to know for sure is to get one and try reading it, so I would suggest starting with one and seeing how well you do. Hello Js06. I have noticed that the current translations of Index Volumes 9 & 10 have the keywords of the arc literally translated instead of the part that is spoken. i.e. The base kanji is translated instead of the kana at the top. e.g. 追跡封じ is translated as 'tracking sealer' but is spoken as Route Disturb. This also goes for Shorthand and Croce di Pietro. I will go and fix these in my own time.
It is easy to find these literally translated terms as they have 'apostrophes' around them.

In the Volume 10 translation, in certain situations the word 'observatory' has apostrophes around it as well. Also, Index II episode 12 has the title 天文台, translated as 'astronomical observatory' but spoken as Belvedere. If you happen to have a copy, can you tell me if the word Belvedere is used in Volume 10 anywhere instead of observatory? It could explain why the word observatory has apostrophes around it. Hello again js06. I was looking at the earlier Index Volumes (1-13,SS1) and I have found that they are not up to scratch to what one would expect of a light novel translation (obviously not including your translations). A lot of the terms have been translated literally like in my above topic. There is little consistency in the terms used. Worst of all there are plenty of sentences throughout the volumes which are entirely capitalised. I am planning on starting from Volume 1 and try and fix things (including incorrect terminology and capitalised sentences) sometime later in the year. However, I do not actually have a physical copy of the earlier volumes so I have to rely on other methods of checking the original japanese (Manga Raws, Anime and Kanji on the Index Wikia).

I have found that the '''Toaru Majutsu no Index no Subete Glossary''' is a good reference for translation. However, aside from the already translated and modified version on the wiki, I dont have access to the original scans so I can double check the translations and see which parts have been modified or reinterpreted by the wiki. '''Do you happen to have a link to these scans?''' (There was a statement on the page that you were the one who translated it.)

Lastly, I will inevitably run into problems when fixing up the translations and will require a more experienced translator with an actual copy to answer some more volume-specific questions (like the Belvedere issue above).
