==Story Synopsis==

Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. Just then, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they hit it off at once. As they were hurrying to their intended goal, with hardly any time to spare, there appeared in front of them a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him. "Congratulations, Freshman!", was all she said, and then she left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children she had promised to marry him one day, fulfilling her dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the entrance exam for this well known private college, but now there she was in the freshman orientation hall. She had taken the law school entrance exam too, and had caught up to him there.

Upon realizing, time has passed, so fast that it's already the second Friday since then. A soundless chill ran up to Banri’s back as he was heading to the Teacher’s Room while carrying his sport bag on his shoulder.

As the midwinter school was quietly crowded with dark chill, 19 hours has turned. The presence of other students was no longer found. All lights except the one on teacher's office was off, the green light that was illuminating the feet of a person who was walking in the corridor with his hallway slippers belongs to the emergency light.

Matching up with Banri’s walking tempo, the clubroom keys on his hand produced a “kacha kacha” ring. Green key and yellow key, it seems that the sound was produced from the clashing of two plastic tags that are attached to it. Not until now that this small sound was noticed.

After the verification the club’s apparatus was confirmed, everyone who was going back must return the clubroom keys to the person in charge at the teacher’s room, in the Track & Field club this is called Ootori, in which second year students are accordingly split into groups by turns. Until now Banri had done Ootori countless of times but, doing it alone was probably his first time.

Maybe, yes. It’s his first time.

In an instant Banri stopped his leg. Until now Linda went with him every time. Banri had gone with Linda when there is Ootori.

It’s been 10 days since that time. Days had passed just like that since Linda was ignored.

He directly went to the side of the wall to place the keys in the hooker as the shine kept on repeating countless of time.

Ou, he bowed his head to the direction of the distant Teacher’s voice. Just like that from the (そのまま尻《しり》からあとずさりするように) he left the room and closed the door.

Alas, it’s the cold, dark and silent corridor again. The midwinter world.

FWIW, I was as nearly as slow in the beginning. It took me two weeks, and tons of embarrassment, to render my first page for Baka-Tsuki, near the end of December, 2009. Along the way, I had the misfortune of innocently asking a Japanese housewife just what 「ブルマ」 was. The answer: bloomers.
