Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない, My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute) is a Japanese light novel series written by Tsukasa Fushimi, with illustrations by Hiro Kanzaki.

==Story Synopsis==

17-year old high school student Kousaka Kyousuke was at a cold-war with his little sister Kirino. They seldom talked and never had a proper conversation these past years. One day, Kyousuke accidentally finds a DVD case of a childish anime program titled "Stardust Witch Meruru." What surprised him more was the fact that inside the case was an R-18 Ero-game
CD ROM. Things looked bad since the obvious suspect for having pornographic material such as that was HIM. (He did have some, but they were all magazines.) He didn't want to think what would happen if his mom or his scary father found out about that. Later, he learned that his little sister owned the DVD case (AND the CD ROM inside). She confessed to him that she liked, er, loved Imouto characters with great passion, enough that she'd bought tons of Imouto Ero-games and other Imouto-related items. To put it simply, he learned that she was an Imouto-only Otaku. Kyousuke had hard time believing that a "typical girl nowadays" such as his sister would turn out to be an Otaku. Now, Kirino wants Kyousuke to have a "life consultation" with her, which put an end to the peaceful life that Kyousuke was having.

Good afternoon, this is Fushimi Tsukasa. I’ve successfully presented this new series without problem. Thank you for getting yourself a copy of this book.

This is an amusing story about a pair of elder brother-younger sister siblings with the worst relationship ever, even though their appearance and personality doesn’t seem to convey such. It is also this author’s first challenge in writing a long novel of the comedy genre. I gave my all in writing something that would make my readers laugh. I aimed to make it easy to read and enjoy this book, and there is no better joy than if I could successfully do so.

In addition, I’ve been blessed with the enormous support of my editors-in-charge Miki-san and Kobara-san. To tell the truth, the draft plan of this book - in particular the initial setting/premise of “Imouto” - was done by Miki-san. To put it in another way, it probably wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he is the mastermind behind this book. I have to say that this work isn’t the product of this author only, but instead, the result of countless intense meetings among the three of us. No matter how many times they have read my drafts, and how many times they have given me advice, I cannot be thankful enough towards my two editors-in-charge. I am truly grateful.

I’m sorry for always only complaining. I think I will continue like this, telling you, my editors, frankly about my anxiety and complaints, but somehow or other, please don’t abandon me; let’s continue to work with each other.

My illustrator, Kanzaki Hiro-san, can draw really cute-looking girls (and especially ''nekomimi''). The editor went to “fetch an illustrator who can draw the best ''nekomimi'' in the world!”, and when this was done accordingly and I was shown the cover illustration, the editor got proud of himself for a good job well done in selecting the illustrator. Naturally, I felt entirely the same way too. During the final stage of the editing process, the rough illustrations were a source of energy for us. Thank you very much.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped with the publishing of this book.

My male friends often say that they envy me since I have a really pretty sister but I wanted to tell them that having a pretty sister won't bring you any good. (At least for me!)

After that I haven't been sure: it's not been that long since Chapter 4, compared to the distance between chapters 3&4 (April to october), so I haven't asked yet. well, I love translating oreimo for a variety of reasons. however I've no plans to dedicate myself to this, simply because of time. Itsuten is right now my top priority followed by Daiden and Kagami's works are darn easy to translate and I'm used to it already, so I can get more done (i'm also hooked to Itsuten right now, it's hmm intriguing). I might finish the remaining of oreimo v4 c3 one day though. I've also establish some contact with Himatsubushi through Ayako. it seems like he's still interested in translating though there are a few blocking points, and I'm too busy to liase with him right now, i'll get to it maybe sometime next week or so. --[[User:Larethian|Larethian]] 04:24, 23 March 2011 (EDT)
