I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. I am working off of PST in California, so do take that into account when looking for the new chapter on my update days.

At Assasinart, Volume 5 has doing to do with the story line they are just little side stories, some that take place before they enrolled at school and some after. Not reading volume 5 will not make you miss anything. Volume 6 picks up right after volume 4. Md_rat

Just because you don't care to read them doesn't mean others don't, the translator is free to translate in whatever order he/she chooses but don't make it seem that just because volume 5 is being delayed that it has no importance, if it didn't have a single piece of relevance then the author would have never wrote in the first place...

I think that just 2 chapters from volume 5 have importance: 1-Summer break (already translated) and 2-Presidential elections and the queen (elections to the new student council). i hope someone do this (not dreyakis because he already did so much and now he's doing volume 6 ) anyway, thanks so much for your work. I did not mean that they are not important, it is just that they are not part of the main story line. They add little but more information into their past and gives you a quick peek at what is to come in the future. I just meant that you would not miss much if you skipped them. The order of translations is all up to Dreyakis so he might decided to translate them but I think he is working on the main story line first. Sorry if I offended anyone. Md_rat

Hello Dreyakis, thanks for your hard work. I don't wanna be a smartass or something like that, but here's some advice. Thank you for being so consistent with your updates and your even greater efforts in translating so quickly. I really appreciate your efforts every chapter. This series really deserves an anime or a faster manga but in the interim, your great translations are very fulfilling in expressing the original feel of the work.

I think that is because the chapters are shorter now. Anyway thanks a lot for translating at all because people love you when you load them up and resent you because after each chapter you give them such a long time waiting (anything more than the next shot immediately is too long). Just joking, you are so fast that we too much expectations and we are happy that you take the time to bring us poor idiots some good translations.

Before anything else gotta say your awesome, thanks for the fast translations, really liking this series. That said i was wondering about something, you said volume 5 may get delayed since its side stories does that mean you are going to translate volume 6 first? and if so are you eventually going to translate volume 5? Because while i'm not sure or anything it seems the side stories hold progress for characters like Mayumi (cover,novel illustrations etc) so i was just curious what you eventually planned to do it, not rushing for dates or anything though just curious.

Oh god, I ended up going to bed one hour early to wake up one hour early to read this chapter. I was really hoping they would relish in the victory more, glorify the team of Course 2 students that conquered the monolith code, but advancing the plot is just as nice! I just want to let you know, Dreyakis, I highly enjoy your translation. I've spent quite a bit of time as an editor for various fan translation groups (never for light novels though) and even those projects could cause a man's brain to explode. Translation is hard work and you are doing the best job I have seen on Baka-Tsuki. It is a pleasure to read your translated text, doubly so because the novels themselves are excellent. Iwanted to ask u if u could get in contact with seitsuki who is supposed to work on chapter 8 of vol. 4 and ask if and when he is going to translate again and if not if he could share his already translated stuff regarding chapter 8 with u so u could translate the rest... First of all, I believe Seitsuki is finished with the chapter, and he will upload it once his vocation is done (or whenever he wants to). First time commenting on bakaupdates, so not sure if this is the correct way, but THANK YOU SO MUCH for your work! I absolutely love this series. I've reread it 5x now eagerly waiting for my next hit of ecstasy! I actually created a log in just to voice my utmost gratitude to you and all the hard workers that work on the Mahouka series! I truly hope this series becomes an anime, but at the same time I know it'll never be as glorious as the LN! You work so quickly and your translations are top notch!
