Not that the addition of a preposition are wrong, but if the original is grammatically correct, it makes little sense to further clutter the already complicated sentence. In the same vein, "any" is not wrong, but redundant.<br />

Since the author inserts first person thoughts occasionally, if you want to convert them all into third person, please discuss the enforcement of such a deliberate alteration to the author's style in the forum so that it is applied consistently. Alternatively, one may want to italicize first person thoughts as florza has done, but again, an administrative decision should be made to apply it consistently across the board.<br />
