			'that her own child did not love her.': This would indeed make sense in context, but (at least in the audio version) what is said is in fact slightly different. 'Kodomo ni aijou wo idakenai'. To mean the current phrase, it would need to be 'Kodomo ni aijou wo idakarenai' ('idakarenai' passive/receiving, 'idakenai' potential). The phrase is in fact a reference to what Miyuki felt earlier, about Miya (whether through magic, guilt, or something else) simultaneously losing her ability to love Tatsuya. As a suggestion, I put forth 'that she could not love her child'.
