|title=Server reboot planned

Shueisha's DCMA was for all languages, English included. If you're an alternate language translator and you want your work back, kindly contact an admin on the forums or leave a message on their talk page.--Hayashi s (talk) 14:13, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

The server will need to perform a reboot at at 20:00 CET on Sunday the 13th November in order to perform critical updates, please note that the wiki will go in read-only mode 1 hour before the update to prevent you from loosing your work in case you are working online. Keep in mind that we advise translators and editors to always work offline on a local copy, to avoid data loss if the website has a problem. The reboot shouldn't take long and everything is expected to be back to normal before 21:00 CET. (We'll perform some cold backup too, since we have the occasion.) A downtime of approx. 15 minutes is to be expected. Both the wiki and the forum are concerned.

BT now has a Discord channel, and you can find the link on the sidebar under network. Stop by to chat with other BT users. And thanks to R~S for setting it up.
There is currently a problem that prevents emails from working on both the wiki and the forums. Unfortunately, this means account features that use emails as well as general notifications are not functioning. Hopefully it can be fixed soon, but it requires getting in touch with the absent big boss, so it will depend on how soon he can be reached.

|title=Updated MTL policy and new WN policy

Baka Tsuki has updated and clarified its Machine Translation (MTL) policy, and introduced a new policy on Web Novels (WNs). In short, the MTL policy has been clarified that MTL should not be added to the wiki without prior approval, and this applies to external links as well; in addition, the "Preview" tag and template will be retired and replaced with an "MTL" tag and template. For WNs, they will be moved to a new category, and only projects from translators wishing to host text will be permitted in the future. See the forum announcement post and individual policy pages for more details.

|title=HAPPY 9TH ANNIVERSARY BAKA-TSUKI!!!

Nine years!!! Can you believe it?! Almost a decade!

I would like to say more, but i'll save that for the blog post... (HERE!)

But the short of it is....

Thank you. I have watched Baka-Tsuki for nine years. I've seen it grown from a single website for one Light Novel to dozens. maybe hundreds of light novel fan sites and blogs.

We have come a long way and we would not be here without you. Our readers, our contributors, our translators and our critics.

It was something worth fighting for, i know our fallen brethren, virtual and in real life, who are't with us today will be smiling on us.

Let us welcome the future, no matter where the path may lead us, let us enjoy the journey together, but if you don't mind, would you let this old man ramble beside you, if only for today? haha.

Baka-Tsuki Translation Community
About Us
PumkiMpagebanner.png
Baka-Tsuki (BT) is a fan translation community that hosts translations for light novels in the Wiki format. Founded in 2006 by Thelastguardian (初代 - 2006-2016), Baka-Tsuki has since expanded to become the largest fan-based English light novel agglomerate on the Internet. Apart from physically hosting 252 projects in 29 different languages, Baka-Tsuki aims to promote the popularity of light novels and serve as a hub to connect readers with fan translations of East Asian light novels on the Internet.

Baka-Tsuki is not a translation group. Independent translators come to Baka-Tsuki and voluntarily upload their translations to the Wiki for public sharing. Baka-Tsuki does not control what translators choose to translate or how fast they translate. Do not ask when the next chapter will be updated. Read More
