@Max27 I'm not so sure that 27 kilometers isn't correct. That's not quite 17 miles, which is not out of the question for visual contact on a moonlit night at altitude. 2700 meters would be not quite 2 miles, which would be practically on top of them. I don't have access to the original work so I won't revert the change, but someone who does should check it. Txtracer (talk) 03:10, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

@Txtracer The Ziz-class are between 912 and 2916 meters, so I'm thinking he just mistook one digit. --Max27 (talk) 15:13, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

The original says 二十七キロ which stands for twenty seven (二十七) kilometers (キロ). I'm guessing it's part of Musashino specifying one thing after another while still determining what it actually is and amending the results along the way. The next few lines go well with this as well. But I haven't caught up to Horizon yet so I'll leave the decision to you guys. -Muton (talk) 20:57, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
@Max27 But I don't think it's the size of the ship being referred to, it's how far away it is. That's my reading, anyway. And Muton's comment would seem to confirm that. Txtracer (talk) 02:39, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
