Hi, I just have two quick questions.

First, I was wondering if you want the hyphens in front of the thought dialogue to be replaced with em dashes. I changed all the hyphens in front of the thought dialogue in Volume 1 to em dashes so it would look consistent the whole way through after another user changed one chapter. To me, the em dashes look better, but if you'd prefer they remain hyphens I can go revert the changes.

The other thing I am curious about is what you do in regards to contractions. From what I've read so far it seems that you never use contractions in the narrative parts of the story. And it seems in the dialogue sometimes you do and sometimes you don't. I was just curious if you had a particular reason for using or not using them all the time.

I had been using hyphens just because it was easier, but I agree the em dashes look better. I will start using them from now on.

As for the contractions, I try to avoid contractions in the narrative and use them when it seems to fit in the dialogue. I admittedly can be pretty inconsistent in the dialogue, but I try to keep more formal lines with little to no contractions and I try to keep the contractions in the more casual lines. If it would be easier for you I can just go change all the hyphens to em dashes for you afterwards. I mean for me it's as easy as find/replace all. And as long as I include the two apostrophes that preface the thought dialogue no unintentional hyphens will get changed. Kory 13:03, 26 May 2013 (CDT)
