Lets start up this discussion page since this has been picked up :3 All Night (talk)

I'll just assume from the volume titles that the anime covers the first two volumes, though not 100% sure of how detailed until after it has been translated and I've read though. Thanks to Firebird, Mizuho, and Drinkingwater for this :3. All Night (talk) 10:37, 24 April 2013 (CDT)

I love you for doing this. Astralmeson (talk) 11:27, 21 June 2013 (CDT)

Actually, quick question. Are you consistently using "Lily" or "Riri" for the fox-girl- I saw it written both ways in Vol3Ch2. Astralmeson(talk) 1:47, 24 June 2013 (CDT)

Just another question: why do you call Pest "Percher" when the original text writes it as "Pest" (or PESUTO, to be exact).?--Kemm (talk) 08:10, 23 February 2014 (CST)

Hi Kemm! In regards to your question, do you mean calling Pest "Percher" in Volume 3 or 5? If so, then it is just because magref has an affinity for calling Pest "Percher". Percher is his favorite character and while it is easier to simply call her Pest, magref prefers to call her Percher. To each his own I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - BionicMeerkat (talk) 08:49, 23 February 2014 (CST)
Good, then. But I won't touch five until four is due. As a side note, I know that Percher is one of Pest's titles (or a part of it), but I haven't found any reason to back it up (the most similar meaning would be someone who treats skin to make leather), so may I suppose it is an archaism?--Kemm (talk) 15:35, 23 February 2014 (CST)
Sorry about the late reply! Firebird responded in the BT forums about the Percher/Pest name and and said her name was Pest while her Gift Name is [Black Percher]. Thus, we decided to include this note: This is a name that has been made from the pronunciation of her name. Pronunciation of it in jap is Pest. But since the author is playing with pronunciation and did not write Pest explicitly, the translator is also feinting ignorance and calling her Percher. At the end of volume 6, a poll will be held to decide if her name is to be called Pest or Percher. Hope this helps! - BionicMeerkat (talk) 20:15, 23 February 2014 (CST)

Mondaiji-tachi Volume 9?[edit]

About the newest release, you guys written it as Volume 9 but at a lot of the Chinese Translated Version of Mondaji-tachi, it says Volume 8.5... Are you sure that it's Volume 9?

Just one small question, we sure that the 10th book is actually gonna be out on "April First"? or is it an "April First"? Oddmoonlight (talk) 16:25, 1 March 2014 (CST)

To the question of is it Volume 8.5 or 9, it is Volume 9. They are currently selling all the released Volumes over in the Japan Amazon and it lists it as 1-9. Volume Set. In regards to the 10th book, Sneaker Bunko always puts out a list of LN that will be released and Mondaiji was confirmed to be in the list. The date for its release is April 1st, 2014. It is the one at the very bottom of the this page. Hope this helps! - BionicMeerkat (talk) 16:36, 1 March 2014 (CST)

Hmm... but according to the Japanese Wikipedia, <Yes! Everyday life in Little Garden> is considered as a "Short Story" of the series. Another thing is that the volume has nothing in relevance to the main plot of the series. It doesn't flow with the ending of Volume 8, so I think it should be put in another section instead. I'm just stating my opinion, I would appreciate it if someone in charge of the series would consider it. Thanks. Flowers-LavDai 20:38, 31 May 2014 (CST)

From what I've seen, volume 8 ends with short stories, fact that ties directly with volume 9. Also, "Yes! Everyday life in Little Garden" is marked as the 9th volume in the book spine. The only other reason apart from it being a short story compilation (mentioned before the reason of why this doesn't mean a thing) to be marked as SS at wikipedia (and remember that wikipedia is made by the readers, not the author or the publisher) is that the cover has a pink frame instead of the usual white. Just to make note, Sneaker Bunko doesn't give this series's volumes numbers on its web, but "Yes! Everyday life in Little Garden" is placed in 9th position along with the rest, not on a different section as expected of a SS volume.--Kemm (talk)

Volume 1[edit]

Just throwing this quick question out there, but is volume 1 going to be completely translated or not? just wondering before i try and start reading this series would like to know and thanks for translating guys i would do it myself if i could lol

I believe, the first and second volumes are pretty much covered in the anime. All Night (talk) 14:48, 17 April 2014 (CDT)

I have read volume 2 and watched the anime and there is not much difference in them to be honest

Sakamachi Izayoi[edit]

Leaving aside all the references to the "sixteenth day moon" throughout the series, Izayoi's true identity (and his Gift) are treated as a key point. At volume 5, the Saurian Demon King mentioned that he has the same body type as Sun Wukong and seemed to have guessed his true identity. Also, I've just noticed that Izayoi's motto of "The heavens did not create man above myself" is very similar to a quote credited to Sun Wukong. Would that hint to some kind of relation, despite Izayoi being a pure human and Sun Wukong unable to reincarnate?--Kemm (talk) 09:13, 11 May 2014 (CDT)

Images[edit]

there is someone able to upload or find HQ images for volumes 1-5? i've started reading the novel with the epub downloaded and i've noticed that the images are not really good until volume 6. i've tried looking around for the raws but i haven't found any HQ ones :(

got it, i will upload it soon.. just volume 1-5 right?? Zechs (talk) 13:09, 14 May 2014 (CDT)

thx for the fast reply :)the ones in volume 1 seems good (the epub is not out yet so i've read it with the app). i've rechecked the illustrations for all the volumes and it seems that besides the volumes 2-5 the others are all HQ though in some volumes there isn't the "next volume preview" image (the ones with the chibi characters).

Hmmm... Lately I've found this "unpublished" image for Vol. 4 when Asuka is washing Pest's hair. Would someone give me the page number in the LN for that event? I'll update it with the page number, also writing (Not in Volume) next to it. Anyone who support this idea of mine? Flowers-LavDai 22:10, 05 October 2014 (PDT)

I`m try to UL HQ images for vols 2-9... but site wont UL them -_- someone know how i can do it? Rezel (talk) 09:20, 29 December 2014 (CST)

Ok. I`m upload 1-6vols, there`s 7-9vols in slightly better quallity, but already UL images is ok. I have Text files for 1-9 vols, if someone intrested in them i can pass them to you. Rezel (talk) 10:17, 29 December 2014 (CST)

Strom?[edit]

Strom is a german word and means electricity or current. But they mean Storm an that would be Sturm or Gewitter or Unwetter in german. Strom does also mean river in german, to be more accurate, a river that flows into the sea, like the weser in the story of hamelin.

Volume 04 afterword[edit]

I added a suggestion and I request for future readers a link to return to and/or continue to the next volume to be added to the end be done too. Oddmoonlight (talk) 07:36, 20 May 2014 (CDT)

Volume 05[edit]

In Interlude Sun Wu-Kong is referred to as a "her" is that how the author wrote it? Cause I thought that Sun Wu-Kong is a he and "he" was reference in earlier chapters as such. Oddmoonlight (talk) 16:54, 22 May 2014 (CDT)

Volume 7 translations?[edit]

Can somebody please enlighten me if there anybody who translates 7th Volume? Or if it is translated outside BT, please provide me with a link (if possible)?

Thanks for all the work put into translating this series! - December 21, 2014

Minor edit[edit]

Just noticed that the link for Volume 8 Illustrations from Volume 7 Afterword goes to Volume 7 Illustrations. I would like to edit it myself but I don't know if you can edit links especially when you aren't part of the team. Can someone please fix it? Thanks a lot. SkyZenith (talk) 05:09, 5 January 2015 (CST)

Fixed it. But you can do such small changes yourself, you don't have to be part of the team. Tidon (talk) 06:13, 5 January 2015 (CST)

Novels[edit]

While looking around about if the next novel had been already published (which still hasn't happened), I stumbled upon the Japanese wikipedia entry, where I found some discrepancies with the numbering we have here.

As you can see, what we call here "volume 9" is treated as an extra, while further volumes go up a position.--Kemm (talk)

Hmm before Firebird said just to label it as 9 since that's what everyone else was labeling it, but since newer volumes have been released I guess the numbering has changed. I'll try my hand at making a short story section and then putting the volume there. [Never mind, I just realized I would have to jump into the illustrations side and fix the numbering for the pics, and last time I did that multiple duplicates were made. Guess I'll ask around to see if anyone can help me with this. T.T ] Thanks Kemm :3 BionicMeerkat (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2015 (CDT)
Okay, I forgot that wikipedia is made by the readers. Checking the official page gives no numbers and the book spine marks it as the 9th. My bad.--Kemm (talk) 09:58, 20 May 2015 (CDT)

Volume 9 or Volume 10 ?[edit]

Just asking if you will update volume 10 first and skip volume 9 ?

I second this idea as Volume 10 follows the plot and 9 is a sidestory.

Sorry about the delay in responding, but magref has told me that he is planning on going in order. Sadly, this means that we won't see Vol 10 until magref completes vol 9. - BionicMeerkat (talk) 17:18, 3 April 2015 (CDT)

Vol. 8[edit]

Someone can TLC prologue and Chapter 1 in vol.8? There`s much TL errors that wrench meaning of text. If you need jap text files tell me. Rezel (talk) 12:50, 19 February 2015 (CST)

is the tradition still ongoing ?[edit]

Hey, I'm wondering if the tradition of this is still ongoing, well because recently there had not been a lot of updates...when compared to 2013 and 2014, so I thought that traductors have dropped it.

Sorry about the delay in responding to your question, but the project translation is still ongoing. Haven't been that many updates compared to the past 2 years due to a drop in translators available, RL, and school for magref and I. Once exams and such are over hopefully we will see more updates. Or at least prompt ones :3 - BionicMeerkat (talk) 17:20, 3 April 2015 (CDT)

Mistranslation(?) in Volume 1[edit]

Volume 1, Chapter 5, Part 2 contains the following sentence spoken by You during their Game with Galdo:

"I don't know yet. But I can't smell him even though he is downwind. That means there is a high chance of him laying low in a building somewhere."

Shouldn't the word be "upwind" here? If Galdo was downwind of them, there would be no way to smell him at all as the wind would be blowing his scent away. 23.119.240.195 02:12, 31 March 2015 (CDT)

Good catch. Seems that the volumes as a whole could use some editing/rereading for errors and such. I have a couple projects I need to get done regarding Mondaiji anyway so hopefully it will be done in the next couple weeks. Thanks for pointing out the error! - BionicMeerkat (talk) 17:22, 3 April 2015 (CDT)

volume 9 chapter 1-3[edit]

i kind of wondering why there's no link for volume 9 chapter 1-3?because on the updates section it's been release thank you

What was previously called "Volume 9" was recently renamed to "Short Story 1", and the updated section just didn't get changed. --Cthaeh (talk) 18:23, 22 April 2015 (CDT)

Yeah, I have no clue how it slipped my mind, but I completely forgot to fix the updated section to reflect the recent changes to the wiki. If you want more information, feel free to check this post out. Sorry about the confusion! - BionicMeerkat (talk) 18:43, 22 April 2015 (CDT)

I think that it should have remained as Volume 9. The author published tem in that order and so I believe it should be read in that order. Like the stuff about Coppelia. The author has introduced these stories in this order and if you move them to below the rest of the novels it makes it feel like it isn't cannon and that they can be read after you finish all the other volumes.

If anything, I think this short story volume should be read before volume 8, it kinda ruins the mood the end of volume 8 had going for it and it all takes place before the events of volume 8 (at least from what I've seen of the first 3 chapters)

Yeah, but all the sellers over in Japan has the Short Story Volume separate from the other volumes. Since we want to follow the same order as them, we had to make the separate section for it. If it really bothers you that much, I can edit the navbar to display the volume between 8 and 9. Also, going from short story to main story back to short story would be a horrible order. Far less jarring then Volume 8 going main story -> ~1.5 volume worth of short story -> back to main story. - BionicMeerkat (talk) 01:07, 23 April 2015 (CDT)

Web Novel!!![edit]

So I have found this web novel story on Mondaiji!!! I'll roughly translate it as "The Story Between the Vampire Maid and the Storyteller" (Chinese-->English, so don't expect accuracy and I suck at translating :PP). I think there are 3 parts to this and so far 2/3 are translated in Chinese already. Is it alright if I make a new section for this? Flowers-LavDai 21:52, 22 April 2015 (CDT)

I don't mind it lol xD Feel free to make a new section for it :3 - BionicMeerkat (talk) 01:02, 23 April 2015 (CDT)

New series of the author[edit]

It seems that the author has started a new series, Last Embryo, set in Little Garden and covering the adventures of 3 of Izayoi's juniors from Kanaria's Foster Home. Is this series a spinn-off? A sequel (meaning that Mondaijitachi has ended)? Something else? The only thing I know apart from the title and the setting is that the illustrator is different between the two series.--Kemm (talk)

I always look at the new series Last Embryo to Mondaijitachi at the New Testament to Index. Someone correct me if I am wrong but Last Embryo basically a sequel where they introduce new character to the guild, while having the senior trios at the focus. However, we probably not going to see the senior trio in the first volume similarly to how we did not see Touma in the first volume of NT until the very end when he showed up again, hence explained why there is no picture of the original trio in the illustration. Takatathien (talk) 15:07, 20 May 2015 (CDT)

It's a sequel, but the main 3 of the Mondaiji will be returning. There is a time-skip, so we are being introduced to the "new generation" of problem children if you will. Izayoi and the gang will be back in Volume 1 (or at least that is what all the rumor info is saying, especially with a picture of loli Kuro Usagi being shown), so it's not like it's the last time we will see them.Think of it like Naruto, where Part 1 is just labeled as Naruto and Part 2 is Naruto Shippuden. -- BionicMeerkat (talk) 15:13, 20 May 2015 (CDT)
Seeing the summary, does this mean that more of Izayoi's "little siblings" will end up in Little Garden? Also, why the change in illustrator?--Kemm (talk)

I know we'll clear doubts once it's published in a couple of days (or once the translations get around to it), but curious about this sequel, I went to the official page to check it. Under the "characters" section, they show us five:

  • Mikado Tokuteru: a tall guy with black tied long hair; quote: "recently, haven't inexplicable things happened around you?"
  • Kurousagi: loli version; quote: "Welcome to 'the world of Little Garden'!"
  • Ayasato Suzuka: ponytailed, brown-haired, tomboyish shortie; I believe she's the temptress wannabee from Izayoi's past; quote:"And then, resourceful BROTHER?" (the expression for "resourceful" is "utsute ga aru", "has a way to do something", and BROTHER is in English with kanji meaning "elder sister-younger brother")
  • Sigou Homura: casual blond bespectacled boy with nekomimi headphones; probably the inventor who made, among other things, Izayoi's and Yoh's headphones; quote: "you know Iza-nii?"
  • Kudou Ayato: short haired blond girl with a braid and an X hairpiece, the girl in the cover; related to Asuka in some way?; quote: "sempai, haven't you received a letter?"

So many questions, so little we know yet.--Kemm (talk)

Ilustrations Volume 10[edit]

It seems that apart of the cover the rest of the images are of the volume 11 - Strike Faster Than Starlight!

Should be fixed now. --Cthaeh (talk) 10:42, 23 May 2015 (CDT)

Also, for some reason the Short Story has been compiled under volume 10 (when it's not from volume 10), its illustrations are missing and has an unrelated illustration from volume 10 at the start instead of the one that should be there.--Kemm (talk)

I've even tried to see if it could be an Extra Story bundled with the BDs of the anime, but it seems that those stories are volume 9's "Finding the answer to the Golden Plate Mystery" in four parts with bonus color cute chibi pictures (+covers), so it should be either from a magazine or from a limited bonus bundled with v10. Either case, there's still no illustrations.--Kemm (talk)

Is this still alive?[edit]

Just asking why is volume 9 and 10 still there while the other volumes have been removed? Not that I'm against it but are there plans on continuing the translation? --SanderLy (talk) 05:11, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Since it wasn't a license but a DMCA, I doubt it will continue. The fact that there are still chapters left (those from volume 6 onwards) should be just that, as it's a lot of work to remove every chapter of every DMCAed series, it takes a while to finish deleting all of them. A pity that it struck when it did, since there were only 2 volumes left... Let's hope the Bookwalker theory is correct.--Kemm (talk)

Is this project still ongoing?[edit]

I know that somebody already asked this question but it was 4 months ago. And the chapters are still there. So I just wondered if the whole DMCA thing has been forgotten or something like that. Here I am asking the same qeustion again: are you guys going to continue translating this series till the end? There are just 2 more volumes. I know that it is a lot of work so I really am thankful for your hard work. I mean you guys spent a lot of time translating/editing/proofreading etc. it and you finished 10 volumes. Isn't it a real waste of time if you can't finish it although you almost reached the end.
