Just wanted to thank everyone helping with my script , transforming it into a readable text. Kazeboy 14 August 2014

Annoyed by MTL fantasy rant

Not to be mean, but out of curiosity I've compared 2 lines of your translation to raws:

バザールに男娼を扱っている所があれば、それが一番いい。

Your version: "I hope there is a male prostitution in the Bazzar , that way is the best, let’s put it as taking care of sexual needs, that’s best for both of our sakes. "

(I'll overlook the fact that you merge lines that should NOT be merged.)

"If there's a place that deals with male prostitution on the bazaar, that would be the best." (Using that would be the best) can be also used.

俺の肩のあたりを熱っぽい視線でさすっている

Your version: she's attached to my shoulder while looking feverish.

Proper translation: "I've felt a hot/enthusiastic stare on my shoulder." or "I've felt her (hot/enthusiastic) gaze on my shoulder."

At this point this is pure fiction. And sorry, I was unable to stop myself from criticizing seeing utter nonsense appear and call itself translation :/ The entire text is full of garbage like that, at least 75% of translations are wrong. Even if editors clean it up to try make a sense out of it, wrong TL is still wrong.

This comes out of pure laziness, you don't have a single hint of how you should 'into japanese', and you don't consult dictionaries. All you do is copy over stuff from machine. There's not a shred of dedication in this. Unfortunately if I were to look back at all your previous translations same thing would probably come out.

Thank you for posting original text to make it so easy for me to look over it to check how bad it is. However, that's against BT rules as it violated the copyright and you should delete it all.

I'll finish the rant with final statement. Either stop 'transrating' or start dedicating time into what you're trying to do and confirming stuff via dictionaries like jisho or kotobank. This is too half-assed to be even called machine translation, because it would insult some of the translators who put a lot of effort into translating with MTL+dictionaries.

Rant over. --Krytyk (talk) 09:42, 14 August 2014 (CDT)

Hello Krytyk , well I am okay with ranting so , what to say thanks.

I hope there is a male prostitution in the Bazzar == If there's a place that deals with male prostitution on the bazaar | I believe that is delivering the same meaning, almost.

Now ,1st: I wont deny that it's not perfect , not even good , it was intended to be readable for those who are interested in knowing what is going on faster and are okay with small mistake like these.

2nd: I clearly announced I am trying to learn , I have small time during weekdays so , I go back and review and fix everything I see is wrong or written bad.

3rd: I do use zKanji (which is based on JDIC http://www.edrdg.org/ ) , I use Mac OSX built in Dic (which is not all that good) and also use few of the online dictionaries.

4th: Sorry for my not up to par English (working on it but it won't improve to pro level in 1-2 weeks).

Lastly , I did mention in Chapter 84 (first script I put up) if any other translator feels like translating it feel free to remove text. Thanks for encouragement (Not that I am gonna stop trying and improving - I know there are a lot of mistakes in my work thanks for pointing them out [Bow]). --Kazeboy (talk) 10:27, 14 August 2014 (CDT)

Continuation

You're not improving. You do not improve by posting clearly wrong stuff. All you do is confuse the readers with unreadable garbage. If you want to improve then continue working on one piece of text until the translations are accurate. Dumping garbage doesn't make anyone improve, how are you supposed to improve if you don't even check up the meaning of a simplest word like 視線 in a dictionary? This word appears every 10 lines in every light novel I've ever read or translated. You're saying you're trying to improve. But that's either an excuse or you're plainly unaware that you're not learning. One does not learn by posting stuff, but by researching it and perfecting it. You're lacking dedication to make the piece of text be translated accurately, someone who's satisfied with posting 'readable' piece of text (this is not a translation, as its wrong) which is in fact fanfiction, cannot and is not qualified to call himself translator.

As for the second thing you said, it's not readable, it's plain wrong. You're obviously lying to the readers who come to read the stuff, what they're reading is not the content of original novel but what your imagination created. While half or maybe the most of the readers don't care as they're satisfied with anything and don't mind it being wrong, I think that they deserve being given something that's correct and not a fanfiction. Readers take it all as true and often never come back to check if it was retranslated (most likely it will never be retranslated). Readers are also unaware of it being wrong.

While I do not oppose newbie translators, but someone who dumps garbage just because he doesn't want to spend more time on researching the Japanese text because all he cares is to pump content faster, will never become a proper translator.

If you haven't discovered the meaning of a word like 視線 which appears 15 times every chapter, then come on, what improvement are you talking about?.--Krytyk (talk) 10:41, 14 August 2014 (CDT)
