I agree. Thought-speech is normally italicized in english. Also for j-text, either hide it using the hide tags or put it in a ref note. The only exception is when Engrish (English written using japanese characters) is used. Use the furigana template for that, example: No, NOOの、ノォ. Or to show shapes by japanese characters.
