In a high class hotel room built in the downtown of «Ragna Ys».

Greyworth looked down into the nightscape that emerged on the other side of the window.

“This might be the last «Blade Dance» that I watch with these eyes of mine.”

She narrowed her grey-pupil eyes and felt slightly sentimental.

It had been twenty-four years since she participated and won. It was when she was fifteen.

At that time, the «Blade Dance» system was still working normally.

It was three years ago when an invisible crack entered the system. And then, it was clear that strange situations were beginning to occur in the current tournament.

There was the short interval of merely three years since the previous tournament, the participation of a darkness spirit that wasn’t an official contracted spirit, the grotesque existence «Nepenthes Lore» that was not even human, let alone a spirit contractor—

(—What on earth is about to happen here?)

It was Greyworth’s own judgment to come to «Ragna Ys». Watching over the activities of students was merely a camouflage on the outside for the Empire’s top brass.

(…Although, they probably also have at least noticed that.)

Greyworth pushed her glasses up, and quietly moved away from the window.

She had been hastening the investigation herself about the existence of the other Ren Ashbell that appeared in the current tournament. That name turned up during the time she interrogated Vivian Melosa the merchant of «Murders», who was captured secretly.

The merchants of «Murders» were secretly connected to the upper ranks of the cult of Alphas Theocracy. Hence, Vivian Melosa knew lots of information on that Ren Ashbell.

According to her story, it was two years ago from now when that masked girl showed up in the Theocracy. She entered the secret agency called «Snake» of the cult, and seemed to have climbed to the top of the agency in mere months.

The number of tactical-class militarized spirits that she bought up with the Theocracy’s funds was twelve. The number of her elementalist subordinates, including the orphans of the «Instructional School», had already exceeded twenty.

(…This isn’t even terrorism. It’s like preparation for war.)

That kind of girl was commanding her elites and participating in the «Blade Dance».

What on earth was the «wish» hidden within that heart of hers—

(—In any case, it’s not like it is world peace.)

With a heavy sigh—

“—While this heart still beats, I have to pass that to the boy .”

The witch softly placed her hand on her chest.
