Illustration editing

May I know what font did you use for Haganai volume 1 colored illustration? Alsso, is there any way to sharpen a resized LQ picture? If not, that what method do you use for replacing the jap text to english ones? Castor212 (talk) 06:45, 27 November 2013 (CST)

I just saw the image you posted in Code-Zero's talk page, and by curiosity, I wanted to know which tools did you use in Photoshop. Is it with the Level function, or the Contrast one? Or did you use more than that? Kira (Talk) 18:44, 31 December 2011 (CST)

Well, basicly, first thing is leveling, to level down blacks the way they are supposed to, also i applied a pre-made script (i use it when editing manga) to dedust blacks and whites in the image. That is what i used in that case. If there's a need i have more tools, scripts, or manual ways to edit images. ;) --Krytyk 19:42, 31 December 2011 (CST)

That looks totally awesome! Can I ask you to do it because that would be great. Code-Zero

Fine then, i'll start tommorow from vol 1 up to the latest one --Krytyk 20:50, 31 December 2011 (CST)

Actually, Kira if you need help with any of your projects, whether it's editorial (text) or photoshop assistance. Just drop me a msg here ;). --Krytyk 08:06, 1 January 2012 (CST)

I'm thinking about it right now. It's a pretty great idea, Krytyk. XD Kira (Talk) 09:33, 1 January 2012 (CST)

Sorry for disturbing you, but when you play with the levels, do you start with the white, the gray or the black? Thx. Kira (Talk) 11:37, 2 January 2012 (CST)

I don't use the smart leveling, i think you mean the three eyedroppers tool on the right side of leveling menu. I do it manually on the diagram, so the question doesn't apply to me :p. Imho you overleveled abit~--Krytyk 12:16, 2 January 2012 (CST)

Ack...well, I'll try to figure that out. So you use the sliding bar? Kira (Talk) 13:13, 2 January 2012 (CST)

Well, if you want some tips, come to my mangaediting group channel on irc, and i'll explain it to you properly~~ #manga-heaven at irc.irchighway.net, this way is unreliable~ --Krytyk 14:05, 2 January 2012 (CST)

It's been long since I wanted to ask, but does IRC require money? Kira (Talk) 14:08, 2 January 2012 (CST)

Of course not, obviously, just download irc client from somewhere (id say you should pick up the one at www.silverex.org - it's simple and free), and yer good to go --Krytyk 14:20, 2 January 2012 (CST)

hey I wanted to say thanks for all the awesome work. I really enjoyed the DAL series a lot better with the translated images. Hope to see more of your work for the rest of the series. Xanga 19:27, 19 February 2013(CDT)

If i have time i'll get back to it :p. --Krytyk (talk) 02:36, 20 February 2013 (CST)

Hi, Krytyk. I'm a EN/FR translator for Date a Live [FR] and I wanted to ask you if you can upload the PSD format of Date A Live illustrations or send it to me so I can translate the illustrations too. But It would be better if you upload it for the other alternative language project. Devenk83 (talk) 07:47, 6 June 2013 (CDT)

There's no really convenient method on uploading it for everyone to have instant availability to it, so they'll have to get it straight from me, i'll send it to you later, need to upload those, and i'll send them to you via forums later. --Krytyk (talk) 08:44, 6 June 2013 (CDT)

Kore wa zombie desuka?

I need a small favor from you. Several two page illustrations from Kore wa Zombie desu ka? volumes 6, 8, 9 are broken into two separate files. I need someone who can combine them into one illustration for each volume I listed above. If your interested and are not too busy, then I would greatly appreciate your assistance in this. Also, this is isn't very urgent, so I can wait awhile for this to get done gradually. -Hiro Hayase 00:24, 3 March 2012 (CST)

Sure, it's not a problem at all, the moment i find some free time i'll do it, you said volumes 6 8 and 9, but these aint uploaded, and there are also images in need of editing in first 5 volumes as well. Shall i do complete edit of the image library in there? --Krytyk 03:38, 3 March 2012 (CST)

If you can then that would be great a help. I'm gradually going to upload the volumes illustrations gradually. I'll upload them now. Also , use the same name formatting for Kore wa Zombie image files please if your going to re-upload them. Thanks a lot! -Hiro Hayase 15:10, 3 March 2012 (CST)

Okay I just finished uploading volumes 5-9 of Kore wa Zombie.-Hiro Hayase 18:19, 3 March 2012 (CST)

Can you also do the same for Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai? Only the color illustrations need to be merged this time for volumes 3-7. I just finished uploading all of them now. It's not very urgent, so you can take your time. Thanks again.-Hiro Hayase 22:09, 4 March 2012 (CST)

I'm going to do Kore wa zombie desuka first, tho now im short of time, ill try to get volume or two done this week. --Krytyk 06:48, 7 March 2012 (CST)

That's fine, and take your time. There's no hurry. --Hiro Hayase 17:51, 7 March 2012 (CST)

There's a slip-up, i don't have much time now, but i done half of it, when i finish vol1, ill upload it all at once. --Krytyk 16:19, 17 March 2012 (CDT)

And before i get asked, i didn't forget about korezombie, just these redraws take more time, and i havnt had much of that lately, i'll get back to it when i can. --Krytyk 07:07, 30 April 2012 (CDT)

Kore wa zombie desuka image editing put on hold for now, i'm gonna edit it when the novel itself will progress, translation-wise. --Krytyk 14:10, 3 May 2012 (CDT)

Can you add Kikou Shoujo wa kizutsukunai volume 3 to the list as well? The translator will start the prologue and chapter 1 soon. Thanks again.--Hiro Hayase (talk) 14:01, 15 September 2012 (CDT)

Hey Krytyk, I wanted to say thanks for all the awesome work you've done and wanted to request some cleaning up on the images for Hidan no Aria volumes 8 and 9. I wanted to make pdf for the volume and share them with everyone but the images are poor quality and I was hoping you can fix them up. Thanks for all the hard work again. --Xanga 20:56, 31 January 2013 (CDT)

There's not really much work there, so i'll do it after i finish campione vol 7, so expect me to do it in a day or two. --Krytyk (talk) 05:32, 1 February 2013 (CST)

Update, i'm looking for better raws, i won't even try working with those since they are way too bad. --Krytyk (talk) 15:33, 2 February 2013 (CST)

Krytyk, thank you for the great images in HnA. Now I can start making the PDFs for the volumes. --Xanga 21:38, 3 February 2013 (CDT)

DAL Volume 6 HQ Illustrations

http://uploaded.net/file/gpium0k4

Finally came across some HQ illustrations. I was going to pm you on the forums, but newly registered users can't use that feature. The reason the file is so huge is because the illustrations and pages are unusually large (About 1MB or more for each page), so it's going to take a while to DL.--KuroDubZero

Sure, thanks a ton mate, getting the HQ raws is a pain, so i appreciate any HQ novels i can get :). I'll sort them out in the near future, mind that i tend not to go ahead of current translations, still, this will be really helpful. Cheers --Krytyk (talk) 14:35, 17 January 2013 (CST)

for the above part of DAL v01_000e [Commander+Shidou's sister-----Itsuka Kotori]-"I welcome you. Welcome to <Ratatoskr>." Lower part is [Vice commander-----Kannazuki Kyouhei] --RikiNutcase (talk) 02:27, 30 January 2013 (CST)

Thanks, vol 1 illustrations are now all typesetted--Krytyk (talk) 02:47, 30 January 2013 (CST)

Tasogare-iro no Uta Tsukai

Thank you for the edits! The illustrations look so much cleaner now! I tried looking for some better-quality raws online, but I couldn't find any out of the few I downloaded... But thanks again for editing! --Mystrael (talk) 21:56, 18 February 2013 (CST)

Tsurugi no Joou to Rakuin no Ko

You keep talking about the new moon, its moonlight and how it shines in the sky, but new moon is precisely the only phase of the moon that doesn't release moonlight. I think you may be trying to say full moon.--Kemm (talk) 12:43, 10 April 2013 (CDT)

Or maybe a crescent.--Kemm (talk) 13:12, 10 April 2013 (CDT)

English text on the TnJtRnK is original text that was there in raws, so unless you want to correct author and his illustrator, id suggest we didn't change anything.

I'm not familiar with this system, I assume I can respond this way? No worries I was hoping that it would at least save time for the person that has been fixing them, I assume that is you? Campione_v2_309-310 has also not been fixed, I doubt many people notice unless they check illustrations. I may ask advice of you in the future, and since I'm not adept at using this wikia format could you message me on Batoto (Expers) if you have an account there instead? Feel free to remove this since it messes up your page. ^^; ~ Expers

It's fine, i do have a batoto account with the same nickname, apparently those images (unedited) were uploaded after i ran through images up to vol 7, thats why i must've missed them, but thanks giving me a head's up on them. If you need any help with editing, you can write up to me on batoto as well, cheers~ ;) --Krytyk (talk) 20:28, 31 May 2013 (CDT)

OniAi

Please do not destroy my volume-display-code, thank you. -cautr (talk) 17:36, 23 November 2013 (CST)

I'm suprised supervisors allowed such erroneus code to even appear, i'm sure there was a draft rules on how to format the project pages, it's not a private space for people to test out their inventions -.-, if you can't find it, request zzhk or any other supervisor to look through it. --Krytyk (talk) 17:48, 23 November 2013 (CST)

Thank you for your constructive and understanding reply. Various people have already seen this and other pages with the code and either approved or at least didn't object it. It was even considered a possible solution for different problems on another big project on the site. But of course I'll gladly nag more supervisors to satisfy you. With this said, why don't you tell me what on my so-called "private space" is "erroneus" about my "invention"? It might help to improve the "erroneus code". Again, thank you for your understanding. -cautr (talk) 06:59, 24 November 2013 (CST)

Well my reply wasn't the most curtous one, reason being yours, was just rude. Something that works for you and your browser, and it looks good on your browser resolution, settings, addons, isn't neccessarily something that's the best solution for everyone. Most of the people just see mess instead, me being an example, having the image nearly overlap with the chapter titles, being the cause of my reaction and editing it. Baka-Tsuki is a portal allowing you to post your translations, a free space, and also free assistance when it comes to editing your translations, to make sure it's top quality, by dedicated or patrolling editors. But it also has some rules to make sure readability is at it's best, and it's neat-and-clean. Best way to ensure everything is as it should be, is to study how supervisors of the major projects did format their pages, examples being zzhk, KuroiHikari, Code-Zero, and their project pages, like HsDxD, Campione or ToAru. --Krytyk (talk) 10:48, 24 November 2013 (CST)

The image being next to the chapter titles is intentional, a better example of the pros of the code can be seen on Oda Nobuna (DE). It scales with lower resolutions, so there is no problem with that. Browser-wise there isn't any problem, either. The code is completely based on wikimedia code. If it doesn't work on a computer, wikimedia itself doesn't. The code being "messy" from your point of view is possible, it's still neat when executed, though. It can be explained what and how it does, what it does. As the sites are either being supervised or "managed" with supervisor approval by me, makes it unproblematic to edit. Major edits, anyway, should be approved by the supervisors in prior, which is in this case either inaban or me. Furthermore the code itself does not "revolutionize", but "evolutionize" the view system, not displaying any hard break with the usual "freaking ugly wide-screen view" code (quote from forum) of the original version. There is no reason to change the code except for the supervisor being against it or willful. Another matter is that I went through the forums and didn't find a guideline on how pages have to look. So I assume basically they have to be mostly similar in looking, but not exactly the same (as example Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei running without any volume covers). Your problem being the cover image being too close to the chapter titles can be edited, by the way. The distance between the chapter titles and the image is flexible. I just deemed it good-looking this way (so did inaban). I just moved it aside by 100 px to show my point. However, I don't see any reason to have the picture on the other side of the screen, when it's related to the volume. If you don't bother looking at Oda Nobuna (DE): The code manages to show two volumes next to each other (could be any number, but it complicates the code further) and scales with resolution, meaning it breaks the two volumes, which are next to each other, up and puts some under each other. -cautr (talk) 11:39, 24 November 2013 (CST)

Well whatever, i lost interest, i stated what i wanted, but this issue is not worth such exaggerating discussion, as it's a minor one. I'll look forward to see if the formatting will fix itself if more volumes will be added to the contents. --Krytyk (talk) 14:48, 24 November 2013 (CST)

I understand, in case the suspense is killing you, you can see multi-volume display at OreShura, of course approved by the whole team. -cautr (talk) 14:54, 24 November 2013 (CST)
