Blog stuff

Do you mind if I change the blank pages (Red links), so that they link to the specific page on your blog? (Asking before I do anything. All Night (talk) 08:38, 22 August 2014 (CDT)

No, for now not - I haven't decided how to deal with that aspect yet, considering I want to distance myself from BT. However, as far as editing goes I can make you an account on the blog so that you can do your edits, considering your edits were always very helpful~. --Krytyk (talk) 09:22, 22 August 2014 (CDT)

You can distance yourself from Baka-Tsuki, and still get traffic using the "Hosted Project" thing they've been doing, as of late. I will admit the "blog" route does offer more control :D.All Night (talk) 10:05, 22 August 2014 (CDT)

Traffic isn't my goal. I have no ads and no donation buttons, so I couldn't care less about traffic. I provide accurate translations for readers. That is all. The reasons for distancing myself from BT are purely ideological - you should read the first post on the blog's homepage for more details. It's time for some people at BT to wake up. And if me distancing myself helps, then that's good. --Krytyk (talk) 10:12, 22 August 2014 (CDT)

I meant more "Reader base" when I said traffic :P All Night (talk) 10:43, 22 August 2014 (CDT)

Do tell me if you make that blog account for me :P Sense online looks interesting. All Night (talk) 14:22, 23 August 2014 (CDT)

Why Delete the Pages?

Just outta curiosity, but even if you wanted to keep your translations off the site, couldn't you have kept the pages and put links for the chapters that are on your site? Cause Baka Tsuki is a good way to find a lot of series as well as a nice way to check for updates.... even if you removed your translations, other people could start posting on it... It's also done with other groups as well, they just link to their page..... plz don't misunderstand, I'm really just curious about why the pages disappeared all of the sudden--Deathmailrock 02:31, 24 August 2014 (CDT)

Was wondering the same thing, I think BT isa a great site to spread translations even though the actual translations aren't on the site itself but links to others instead, quite confusing sometimes, but nonetheless thanks a lot!!!.ZAIZEAH (talk)

That wouldn't be distancing myself if I did so. I want to move away and spend the rest of my days growing my grey beard in leisure~ --Krytyk (talk) 04:24, 24 August 2014 (CDT)

Well, you could have at least have kept the page and let people know you were dropping the project... then someone else could try to start the project if they felt like it, and if not, then people could still learn about the existence of the series. It's kind of a waste to get rid of the series pages, even if you aren't going to leave your own work on it.--Deathmailrock 05:01, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

You're wrong on one point. I'm going to continue TL'ing series. It's just that they won't be on BT. --Krytyk (talk) 13:34, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

I meant that someone else could start it as a baka tsuki project.... just one chapter on the site could be a good preview for new people and they might start searching for the series elsewhere.. it will at least allow people to know of the existence of the series while they search BakaTsuki..--Deathmailrock 14:01, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

You missed one of my edits because of this damn caching thing. I wrote that supervisor told me to take it down if it's not on BT or hosted. I did leave the message and link to my blog before that though. --Krytyk (talk) 14:24, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

I told him to delete the page. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 17:42, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

Thanks Kuroi, that helps. At least I have an excuse to use :P. (although that was a good thing considering the point I want to distance myself as much as possible from BT). --Krytyk (talk) 19:21, 28 August 2014 (CDT)

Well, this is just coming from an anonymous reader, and it probably will not influence your decision, but I'd like to try to encourage you to keep links to the projects on your blog on BT. Though it has no effect on me, since I actually already know where your blog is (and quite like the ease of readability + theme btw), I also know how difficult it is to find series not posted in frequently viewable areas. In my mind, just hosting your translations on a separate site shows you aren't part of the BT community, but instead hold your own set of translation standards. I've got quite an aversion to social media like twitter personally, so my discovery of projects is self-limited to what I browse for. So I figured I would throw a bid in for future readers like myself, so that they could easily find your excellent translations. As a side note, very much looking forward to OSO, and please feel free to delete this off your discussion page when you've read it because of how large it is lol. Thank you for taking the effort to learn another language and for putting the considerable amount of effort and time it takes to translate a novel into use for people you haven't met, cheers mate.
