It's generally depend solely on the translators, and I think it would be appropriate to respect their preference, even if it leads to inconsistency across the volumes in the same series. One example is in 'Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai' with some volumes using Japanese name order, while the others using western name order, all were by translators' preference and they were kept intact like that. |
