Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari[edit]

I've adapted a new format for weapon unlocking notification, please give me some feedback regarding this if possible. PS: for ch 8, 10, and 11 - Alpaca (talk) 00:40, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

Alright, TY for the input. I didn't use lock and unlocked since there's more systematic stuffs being mentioned in the future chapters so I'm saving it for that. - Alpaca (talk) 01:17, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

The exp and LV things sounds fine by me, I was starting to find it a bit odd to in that regard. But can I ask you to do the favor of replacing/fixing them for me? Since I am bad at keeping track of those. - Alpaca (talk) 02:23, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

Alright, thank you for your hard work. I've just uploaded a new chapter up there, take your time reading it. - Alpaca (talk) 02:39, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

Thanks for letting me know, I've re-added the edits so it should be fine now. I'm gonna do a double post on both Alpaca's and Reiji's talk pages. DarkeKyuubi (talk) 15:53, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

TY, I'll look over and see if there's anything that was off later tonight. I'm outside atm. - Alpaca (talk) 16:03, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

Ty for the heads up, the concept of that anon-kun is nice and all but since they added 'so' and changed it into a more aggressive sentence than it was meant to be, I will be reverting the change and add a few thoughts of my own. - Alpaca (talk) 21:20, 25 August 2014 (CDT)

As always, ty for pointing the stuffs out, I don't really mind the messages haha. I've already changed menu to dinner. As for this: 食べるか頷くかどちらかにしろと言いたかったけど、おいしそうに食べるので放っておいた <- it was the whole 'Nodding and eating at the same time was bad table manners, but since she’s eating so deliciously, I let that fly.' I rephrased it since it was using a proverb in Japanese which sounds very awkward in english.
Then for 枯渇気味だったら it basically was saying something like: the quality was 'bad', therefore they looked dried up. I just rephrased it anyway, please check if that's better. You can change and rephrase that one as you see fit since I don't really know how to make it not so awkward. TY for your work as always. I'm heading off to sleep though so I won't be up for a few hours. - Alpaca (talk) 03:28, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

The change that soraya21 made on the delicious part didn't change the overall meaning much so I don't think it will be much of a problem. - Alpaca (talk) 12:30, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

It's fine, keep on informing me the parts that concerns you, I don't mind that at all. And I checked the last line, since it was tricky translating that line to english, the over all meaning of it didn't change that much, it does sounds a tad better that what we got though. I will be counting on you to point out stuffs in the future (like later tonight for ch 14, this one should have more awkward phrases than usual since the topic of the first half of the chapter was a bit heavy, kind of). Also, I wrote some stuffs concerning the chapter orders in my talk page, what are your thoughts on them? - Alpaca (talk) 14:46, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

Lol, Alpaca did post on the main talk page for Tate no Yuusha. It just seems like the 3 of us are currently the most active and both of us check Alpaca's talk page fairly regularly DarkeKyuubi (talk) 16:04, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

Thanks, I was actually really conflicted with those two. I'm like "it should be plural.... but they're not even English words.... oh what the heck let's just make it plural?!"

As always ty for the research you've done on that one word on ch 2. I will work on it once I got home in a bit. - Alpaca (talk) 19:24, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

I've also done some research before and since I've translated a few more chapters since then, I could generally guessed the author's writting style. Basically the zura-tto was something like zuraaaaaaa '-tto' with '-tto' can be translated into 'then' in english, the zura part is an sfx that describe a sudden/'tada'-feeling when something or someone lined up in a line. anyway, I re-translated the line, give it a read and see if it's any good. that site was pretty interesting btw, ty :3 - 21:49, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

I don't really mind it, throw me all the questions you have on your mind, I'm planning on no life for a few days to at least get "full project status" before Uni starts (1.5 week). The translation speed probably will be slower (something like 2-3 days a chapter, 4-5 for a long one) once Uni starts. - Alpaca (talk) 22:06, 26 August 2014 (CDT)

I don't mind the change but if you intend to do so then, please check if the terminology and other pages are up to date. I will be also have to bother you about this for ch 14 later too since I've already translated 80% of the chapter using Raphtaria, I'll use raphtalia for the rest of the chapter. - Alpaca (talk) 00:03, 27 August 2014 (CDT)

I can't seem to contact apertur null (he never replied) and I left Ren to do his stuffs for now since I don't want to rush him. Anyway, ch 14 is up, thought that I should inform you. - Alpaca (talk) 01:38, 27 August 2014 (CDT)

Slots does sounds better, please change it. TY. I'm working on ch 16 atm, hopefully I'll be done soon (assuming that I won't be getting any more RL stuffs) - Alpaca (talk) 12:56, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

I've been thinking of changing it all to Oyaji instead of Pop/Pops since I like the sound of oyaji better while Pops makes me think of Pepsi. What's your opinion? - Alpaca (talk) 17:52, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

So would you mind if I ask of you to help me change all the Peps... i mean Pop into Oyaji? I got myself a handful of new Kanjis from ch16 atm (a lot more shield names, effect/skills compared to the other chapters up until now). On a side note, if you remember, we talked about the est or erst whatever bash before, what was the name that I decided to go with again? Since ch 16 has erst/est 'shield' as a skill instead of bash. - Alpaca (talk) 18:02, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

It can also be translated into leaping strike. The other translator translated it into instant probably because air+strike can also mean a fast jab/wind speed strike. I'll think about it and decide by the end of the chapter, also which chapter was the bash one on? - Alpaca (talk) 18:16, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

Can you help me edit the Erst Bash into Air Bash? Since I will translate エアストシールド as Air Shield because the skills create a shield of air. - Alpaca (talk) 19:31, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

Yep, I'm 100% sure about this since I went ahead and look into Japanese games' walk-through and saw that anything with 'エアスト' like エアストバッシュ are usually regarded as Air-element/type + following word (bash) in this case -> Air element bash -> Air bash. - Alpaca (talk) 20:18, 29 August 2014 (CDT)

Air Bash wasn't even one of his skill, it was taken as an example to explain things (probably from one of his gaming experience). Tell me if that cleared up for you. PS: Thank you for updating the terminology page, I totally forgot about it. - Alpaca (talk) 12:46, 30 August 2014 (CDT)

Reiji, may I ask you to change all the mutant -> beastman and sub-human -> demi-human? Ty and sorry for bothering so late night :3 - Alpaca (talk) 23:38, 31 August 2014 (CDT)

Actually, it was hybrid not mutant (only appeared in ch8). Can I ask you to change it for me? I will be heading off to sleep, got to wake up early tmr. night.:3 - Alpaca (talk) 00:33, 1 September 2014 (CDT)

Do you mind if I ask you to undo those edits? I found them utterly meaningless and stupid. (facepalmed so hard) - Alpaca (talk) 14:04, 1 September 2014 (CDT)

I already sent his way a message, hopefully this will prevent further edits w/o consents (I couldn't careless about some male's lines, but changing Raphtalia's moefic 'Un's is a sin in and of itself!) - Alpaca (talk) 14:14, 1 September 2014 (CDT)

I jsut replied to it, ty for pointing that out, I rarely ever check that page >_> - Alpaca (talk) 15:46, 1 September 2014 (CDT)

Ch 18 is up, this one is a bit long so i expect alot more awkward phrasing and stuffs than other chapters, tell me if you found any. Going off now, I'll be back by tomorrow's evening. - Alpaca (talk) 00:32, 3 September 2014 (CDT)

I was the one who told him to post his stuffs up there since I don't think I will be that motivate in translating those chapters ( 22 was, imo, the best chapter in the whole volume so it did pissed me off for a few days, on a side note I just got 2 prinnies to 9999 in D4! ) - Alpaca (talk) 23:04, 7 September 2014 (CDT)

I'll look at it after I finish w/ ch 20, this chapter is so long (compared to others) that it seems to take forever translating o3o. - Alpaca (talk) 00:15, 8 September 2014 (CDT)

Hey there, thank you for pointing out that, as far as TLC-ing and editting goes, I'll do a final revision of the whole volume after we've completely translated the volume. as for now, I'll try to pump out 20+21 and priortize TLC-ing 22-23 before moving on to revising the whole volume, thank you for pointing out however! I never check the chapters after roughly 12 hours post my initial post so ty for staying on the look out. :3 Feel free to hook me up if you found some apparently inaccurate editting that need immediate attention, thank you as always and I'll be counting on you more in the future! - Alpaca (talk) 21:18, 8 September 2014 (CDT)

I generally have an idea as of where the Light novel volumes split up ( There are certain milestones in the story, like the fight with the undead dragon and 2nd wave will be or at least, very close to the ending of vol 2), but yeah that's a good idea, and IMO the side stories shouldn't be translated until we bump into them as we translate because they have HUGE HUGE HUGE spoilers (also, if you have anyway to contact uguu, please enlighten me as all my attempts to contact went un replied). With that said, can you go ahead and add (WN # x) or whatever looks nice to the overview page? The chapters up until now are all WN chaps. - Alpaca (talk) 23:18, 8 September 2014 (CDT)

Hmm, well, if he got the novels just to translate the side stories then I think we should let him do that. Although I certainly heard from 'banished' (the user/wiki creator) said that the side stories were on the WN. PS: they are in the WN under different name. - Alpaca (talk) 23:48, 8 September 2014 (CDT)

Hmm...... Well, we will leave the epilogue as is for now (I updated some chapter names in vol 2) - Alpaca (talk) 00:05, 9 September 2014 (CDT)

I just thought up of something, give me 15 mins and I'll send you another message once I'm done. - Alpaca (talk) 00:32, 9 September 2014 (CDT)

Hi Reiji, I discussed this with Alpaca a bit earlier and wanted to get your & the other editors' opinion about past/present participles. In my opinion, I think it's better to stick with present tense throughout since Naofumi's 'inside voice' dips into the narrative and this will keep the whole novel uniformed. But if you have reasons for preferring to use past tenses then please let me know. Whatever prior chapter proofing doesn't need to be done right away, but it would help if all of us followed the same mentality while editing for verb tenses from now on.--Soaya21 (talk) 14:34, 9 September 2014 (CDT)

Done, it will be more of a pain to update but that should keep things seperated.

Bleh, fix it up for me if you want, and contact onizuka for me and ask if that change was fine, I'll head off to bed now since I got to wake up in 5 hours.

Hmm, should we del them or leave them be? Can I ask yours and other team members' vote on this? (sry but can you go around head hunting them for me, I'm busy with some stuffs atm). I personally don't like them up there. - Alpaca (talk) 22:33, 12 September 2014 (CDT)

Yeah there's a small difference between Alpaca's single and double quotes. On Baka-tsuki they appear as ' and " but for some reason Alpaca's all appear with the little tails on the end (they end of looking like 6 and 99). I'm guessing it's because of Alpaca using a word processor first instead of actually typing into the Baka-Tsuki page creator. It's really nothing major but it looks really weird when you start mixing the two different styles (which usually happens if anyone makes any edits or adds quotation marks to speech, since Alpaca forgets the odd one). Although we could just all copy and paste the quotation marks that Alpaca is using I just thought it would be easier to use the one that B-T uses by default. Lol, and no worries. Besides my official editing progress is chapter 4 even though I've edited the new chapters as they came out. DarkeKyuubi (talk) 09:01, 16 September 2014 (CDT)
