Images, chapters and volumes should conform to the proper naming standard that is established for each project. This includes the Project name, volume number, chapter/image-page number.
In other words this isn't a place to discuss the correct method of naming pages. It's a place to report pages and images that have been given simple names. Like simply img01, chap01, etc (without project/volume/etc included in the name).
Currently used examples of correct naming (can have variations for each project/language, this one's for English):
Note:ProjectName is where the short form/name of the project is to be inserted [some projects have REEEEALLY long names so their short forms are used in volumes or chapters or images instead (example: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance uses the full name in volumes and chapters but STnBD for images for quick linking) as long as the name is unique and meaningful it's acceptable].
Volume (full text) page:
- ProjectName:Volume #1
- ProjectName:Volume#1
- (where #1 = volume number: eg 1, 2, 3)
Chapter page:
- ProjectName:Volume #1 Chapter/SideStory/etc #2
- ProjectName:Volume#1 Chapter/SideStory/etc#2
- ProjectName:Volume #1 ChapterName/SideStoryName/Prologue/Epilogue/etc
- ProjectName:Volume#1 ChapterName/SideStoryName/Prologue/Epilogue/etc
- (where #1 = volume number: eg 1, 2, 3...)
- (where #2 = chapter/sidestory number: eg 1, 2, 3...)
- (where ChapterName/SideStoryName/Prologue/Epilogue/etc = name of chapter)
- Note:This is for irregular chapters that don't have a number but only a name or a name with a number
Image page:
(Here is where MOST of the naming errors occur, like naming images simply img01, img02, chp01-01, etc)
(This format was made so that reference with books/pages can be easily made by translators and the images placed at the correct places in the chapter.)
- File:ProjectName #1#2 - #3.#4
- File:ProjectName #1#2 #3.#4
- [no colon(:) used]
- (where #1 = "Vol", "vol" or "v" to stand for volume) Note: Whichever the project uses.
- (where #2 = volume number: eg 01, 02, 03...) Note: Don't forget the zeroes
- (where #3 = page number of image: eg 000, 000a, 000b, 000c, 000d, 001, 002-003, 004-005, 038, etc; in some cases it might also have chapter number in it: eg ch1, ch01, c1, c01, etc)
- Note1: 000 series is for cover images. Or you can use "Cover" if it's just the front cover. But if it's front + side flap, etc then you should use 000a and on.
- Note2: You can choose between giving the page number of the contents page or replacing #3 with "contents" or "Contents".
- Note3: images that are two page spreads should be named with both page numbers separated by a hyphen eg 002-003, 004-005
- Note4: If chapter is included then it should come before page number
- (where #4 = file extension: eg jpg, png, etc; don't forget the dot between #3 and #4)
Please also inform the uploaders who made the mistake in renaming so that they don't make the same mistake again.
