It is the entire chapter 1 instead of its preview. The next chapter will be available by the end of August.
Anyway it is interesting enough and the drawing is much better than the promotional art. The mangaka is certainly experienced in drawing men and military stuff. I am still a bit worry about how he is going to handle the heroines though.
and I'm wondering how many pages are per volume exactly? looking only by its price, it's already third time of what light novel costs. so I assume the pages also about 1000 pages?
and ah, I'm new here
Welcome.
With around 500 pages in each book there are around 2000 pages in total. On top of that due to the larger print size, the number of words per page is much more than your typical light novel page. The word count (Japanese characters) is probably around 1.5 to 1.8 million.
It would certainly be a fun and enjoyable series to translate - if it the length wasn't that epic. To translate the whole thing within a reasonable time frame, you will need a team of at least 4 (one for each volume) and preferably 8 (two for each volume) experienced translators working simultaneously. Team members also need to be highly cooperative and vigorously cross check each other's work, due to the high possibility of inconsistencies caused by the large amount of fantasy terms and names. Ideally there should also be a military otaku in the team serving as a consultant, but I am certainly asking too much.
Reminds me of that WWII naval series on the super aircraft carrier Yamato...
ZYUGANOV
President of the Russian Federation. Worrying that the abundant resources in the "Special Region" would dilute Russia's influence, he involves himself in a number of plots.
Actually, we have one, he is a leader of the communist party. A president, eh...
I find this novel rather interesting after reading it a bit of the translated bits and I look forward to future releases. I'd also like to mention that there's a few English chapters translated at batoto.net if other people want more material to judge this novel on.
The manga is just recently being translated, but the novel is so much more awesome and with a lot more of detail, there is just one volume of the manga released in Japan.

I completely agree. My attention was brought to this series through Batoto and when I saw one of the comments there telling me to check out this thread I couldn't resist supporting the continuation of the translation of this novel.
"I don't know what will happen in the future...
But one thing is for sure
and that is I will survive on this never ending wilderness
with or without you..."
This is one of the most interesting novel that i ever seen. I have read the translated manga from /ak/ scans, and i sincerely hope that this teaser project can be carried out.
