I guessed that. Plus you're not as evil as Kadi, trickling out a couple of sentences a day... (cf, "Seeking the Mysterious Devil King")zzhk wrote:Even if I do, it's not on purpose. Kirika is totally adorable.

great work on translating C3 so far. can't wait for the pdf of volume 4
I think being a God Slayer would be the funnest job in the world. I can't think of anything more fun then life and death battles with the gods and dragons.

Hello guys, I'm planning to transalte these series to Spanish, but, what do I have to do to give credit to the original (Jap-Eng) translator(s)? Just mention the translator and editor users? And I want to publish on my translation blog the light novel illustrations stored on bakatsuki, there's no problem? I suppose not, but I wanna do this the right way, so give me advice pelease

Glad to know that people are enjoying Kirika (and Fear as well). Anyway, this concludes V5. However, the next Kirika-centric volume doesn't come until V10 (though there are developments here and there).
Anyway, here's a quick overview of the next few volumes:
V6: Battle at the Pool
V7: Side Stories
V8: Christmas
V9: New Year's (lesbian mikos)
V10: Valentine's Day
On a separate note, I actually translate from the Chinese version (with some cross referencing with the JP), so the B-T translations are actually J->C->E (except for the beginning of Volume 1).

It's up to you, really, but crediting Baka-Tsuki alone would be enough. If you want to copy the illustrations uploaded on B-T, go ahead. (They might not be the best quality, however.)Al3xx wrote:Hello guys, I'm planning to transalte these series to Spanish, but, what do I have to do to give credit to the original (Jap-Eng) translator(s)? @ zzhk
are Chinese -> English translations easier to do? Is that how you are somehow managing to translate faster than 5-6 guys in a team?

Re: C3 ~Cube x Cursed x Curious~: General
C->E isn't any easier per se, so if anyone is planning to learn a language to read/translate LNs, they should learn Japanese directly.
On the other hand, there are a few reasons why C->E might take less effort for some people:
1) People who are bilingual in Chinese/English are more common than those who are bilingual in Japanese/English.
Hence, C->E translators already know Chinese (perhaps even to a highly proficient level), while J->E translators tend to be learning in the process.
That's probably the biggest reason: C->E usually relies on existing knowledge/skills.
2) To a far lesser degree, translating from another language means that some of the interpretation is already done for you.
Japanese is notorious for its ambiguities and omitted subjects and objects.
These are often filled in when translating to another language.
Of course, the flip side is that you'll be relying on someone else's interpretation, so it's a double-edged sword.

"Kissing in public" is not a thing that's done in Japan.NewAgeOfPower wrote:Finished vol 5. That's it? She just kisses him on the cheek?
