Cop Craft is a Japanese Light Novel written by Shouji Gatou, the author of Full Metal Panic, and illustrated by Range Murata. It is being published by 'Shogakukan' under their 'Gagaga Bunko' label.
Tilarna Exedilika, a novice knight that came from another world. Lacks common sense, an innocent beautiful girl.
Kei Matoba, a talented detective of San-Teresa police department. A clumsy man with cat allergy.
In the city that connects parallel worlds with hyperspace gates, the two were ordered to work together.
While being constantly at conflict, Matoba and Tilarna chase after a common enemy.
Gradually, a strange trust begins to develop between them.
----
A hyperspace gate opens above the west coast of America.
On the other side of it lies the world of fairies and monsters. People who live there call it Leto Semani, "Land of Man". Together with Gate, a huge island appears. Now it is named Caliena San-Teresa. It has become the front door to another world and home to over 20 million people. A place where magic culture and Earth culture overlap. The most beautiful and chaotic city glorified as "City of Dreams".

Reason:Added the additional synopsis
This work has very good reviews ratio, almost as like FMP's. Strange it didn't get into Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi ranking.
Misc: Dragnet Mirage Reloaded is a renovation of Dragnet Mirage that was released in 2006.
Audio drama and volume 4 release date: March 2014
Some amazon reviews:
Spoiler! :
Even though it's a LN, the athmosphere it gives off is of a hardened cop flick. But that's how i like it.
It's like a moe-character was thrown into the world of Die Hard or 24.
An exquisite blend of serious and soothing, it makes you laugh and draws you in. You don't get tired of it.
Please imagine a tough guy like Jack Bauer get swayed by the power of moe...
Doesn't that make you smile?
A book like a dried squid.
If you dry a squid, the flavor starts to change.
The more you eat it, the more the taste becomes apparent...
What the hell am i talking about?!
In other words, the first time you read it, and it's fun, next time it's fun,
the third time you can't stop grinning.
Calling it light novel doesn't do it justice. Gato-san, masterfully done, as always.
If you liked FMP, the course of action is obvious.

that's the feature of Murata's art.
probably the reason he was picked to be an illustrator for this in the first place.
after all, main theme of Cop Craft is the coexistence of neo-noir and fantasy worlds.
