Just saying. Same with Touya.
Part of why I pick is because I believe consistency is a wonderful thing. It's annoying as all heck when you see X different spellings for the same person, or X different translations of a technique. Or when different actors are used for the same role.
Just because it's in a foreign language to them, doesn't change how he spells it. Look at all the online screen names out there. Are people required to spell their names that must correspond to the spelling/pronunciation in another language? As far as the pronunciation goes, Maryele works just as well as Marielle. The only problem comes when Henrietta calls her マリエ for short.
But then, people have nicknames that often sound/spell very different. William/Bill. Richard/shamisen. Thomas/Tom. Anthony/Tony. Catherine/Katherine/Katrina/Kate/Katy. ESPN/"that poor sod."
If anything, Maryele's "incorrect" spelling of her own online nick would work quite well as proof she's a Japanese person.
