Just curious: are they really speaking in these styles? Very cumbersome and complicated for the knight and informal (slang, maybe?) for Cardinal?
Cardinal is actually speaking old language, the kind that's comparable to kings and nobles in medieval time. She's basically an old lady on the inside. The knights are merely being formal

Knights speak formally.
In Eldrie's case, he likes to beat around the bush.

Cardinal speaks like an old person.
Not archaic, just old.
Like, grandma-grandpa-old.
Also, she's pretty long-winded (and uses English quite a bit in v12).

I tried adapting Cardinal's speech to English in v11, gave up halfway, and just didn't bother after that.
No idea how it would work in other languages.

Okay.

Good News: My assignments are mostly finished.

Bad News: It's the exam period.

Silver lining: I have a bit of a break between the two exams I have so I can work on a pic or two during that time.

Part 1:
We had only had one meal since then, of rock-hard, dry bread and a leather sac filled with lukewarm water flung through the bars that evening.
Part 3:
It was a compelling stimulation to our stomachs, having only sipped at the watery soup and gnawed at the rock hard bread from yesterday night

I'd like to pull up the old question:
justAguest wrote:hello guys, im just a new fan of SAO series and i have a question about timeline
in vol 5 chapt 6 Kirito said when he converted his avatar that he left almost all of his items in Agil's shop at the 50th floor(December 2025) but in vol 7 floor 22nd just opened on December 24th 2025(according to Asuna's line)
im a bit confused why Agil's shop is on 50th floor which should still unexplored at that time ?
well its just a trivial question but i wish someone would kindly explain it to me

Thank you

p.s. im not good in English so please dont mad about my language
Okay, it's certainly Kawahara-san's mistake. My question is, did they correct it in the recent prints of vol.5? And if they did, where is Agil's shop now?

@Water/Soup
It's accurate.
Anyway, I seriously doubt they'll fill water sacs with soup.
And the mention of soup was actually in katakana (and it's not wasei-eigo).

I'll check that in a week and a half. It's probably 22nd though.
Do you have a list of mistakes like that (mostly due to web -> published editing)?
I recall there was one in the BoB blocks assigned in GGO too.

Not "a list", but a couple I have.
Yeah, about blocks. It's group F in vol.5
in 5-6:
"I'm Group F. Group F, number 37."
"Ah...I see. We registered at the same time, so I'm group F too. I'm number 12 too...that's great, even if we meet in the finals."
And group K in vol.7.
Mmm... it WAS group K, now it's F again... maybe it was even me who did it... anyway, it was in 7-8:
Shino in F group managed to beat her way through, but in the end, the one who appeared in front of her, was the one who was supposed to be a beginner—even though she had a feeling that she would be meeting him, «that guy».
And, those whetstones in Alicization; 6 in 10-4
“This black Corengan whetstone could be used for 3 years, but that thing of yours already broke 6 of mine!”
and 3 in 11-5
Sadore-shi, the very image of eccentricity, scowled as hard as he could while grumbling, "It even broke three of my black refining whetstones which should have lasted for ten years" but he didn't take any money, saying that it was a once in a lifetime job.
- you said that time that it's probably due to inaccurate web -> published too.

And one more. I'm not sure but maybe that's from the web version too.
7-6:
Once again taking flight from Ronbaru's streets, the seven of them flew to the dungeon at an indescribably fast speed.
Here it's already corrected, but in the raws it was "six of them".

11-6
Do you believe that this world with a population of merely ten thousand or so require a class system as excessive as to involve the presence of four emperors and over a thousand nobles who label themselves aristocrats?"
"Ten thousand..."
十万 is 100000.
Corrected this.

next...
In the beginning... when I was still the supervisor without a consciousness of my own, four from the outside world made their way to this land and brought up eight «children» as farming families in two houses.
Looks like it was 8 children in total. But, according to 10-2, it was 8 children in each house, 16 in total:
Thanks to the volunteer work the 4 technicians offered, the pride we have in creating the 16 young people who grew quickly...
This world is way too peaceful. Perhaps it's because it's too orderly and is working perfectly. We should have realized that it's strange based on how the sixteen children were all so obedient to their parents...
and some other places.

"...brought up two houses of farming families with eight «children» in each."

Also, I changed an earlier line to
"I... I'd... taken up the invitation from the highest minister, Administrator-sama... summoned to this land from the Celestial World as an integrity knight and..."
near the end of the Eldrie battle scene.

I have a completed translation draft of the side story "The Fourteenth Autumn" from the doujinshi SAO Pina Edition and I'm wondering about how to post it to the BT wiki.

The draft can use some English editing at minimum. The story contains some wordplay that need to be localized to make sense in English.

Thank you, Tap, for getting the page set up.
I am unable to use the PM function due to the newness of my account, so I will reply here.

I've registered for a wiki account and I'll have the draft posted soon.
Mr. Kawahara is okay with distributing it and he mentioned that he'd like to read it, too.
I also asked him whether or not he has English names in mind for the locations on Floor 35 featured in the short story. He said 〈ミーシェ〉 is 〈Mieche〉 and 〈迷いの森〉 is 〈The Bewildering Woods〉, so I'd like to use those terms instead of what Aniplex (?) has for the English version of the anime.

Edit: I have posted the draft here: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index ... nth_Autumn

Oh, cool, I romanised ミーシェ right (in the draft I did using the sample doujinshi images, lol).
Or was it Miesche (that's the one you're using there)?

I forgot to replace the words. It's been fixed now. :)

What do you think of the part of the story concerning phosphorus and the kanji for <珪子>? Can it be localized?
